Feeling very relaxed after a massage earlier! The lady I go to also does reflexology and a couple of other therapies, but I thought massage might be a better option. My hip pain is certainly less and as I said, the rest of me feels very relaxed.

Had an unwelcome phone call yesterday. My op has had to be rescheduled and at a different hospital. At least I'm getting to know the hospitals in this area. The PA obviously picked up on my distress because the consultant phoned me and explained the situation. As he said, I was welcome to go to another consultant, but I wouldn't get the operation any sooner. Not much I can do, the pain and my mobility are certainly getting worse, so the sooner I get it done the better! I'm not telling anyone ( apart from family) when it actually is just in case I jinx it!

A night in front of the TV is on the cards, all depends on if I can stay awake or not.

Oma, I think I'd stop that exercise if I were you. I used to do that for improving my balance before this hip problem, but I only did 30seconds on each leg. I hope it eases for you.

Have a good evening ladies xx

Oma, we have to remember we know our bodies better than the physios do. I have often had to avoid several knee exercises because they made my back worse.
I don't know if you remember, but when I saw a physio for my knee, a couple of years before my op, the next day I was in so much pain I couldn't walk. It was scary . It was the day I did mums weekly shopping and visited her, but OH had to do it.

Lizzie make the most of the lovely weather you are having!

My arm is a bit sore Daisy but not too bad at present.

OH is feeling a bit better. She LOVES mussels so is gutted about this . I will write a bit more on the Health thread.

        WG we crossed!

Damn about the op date. I'm glad the massage helped. Take all the help you can get while you are waiting.

Oma,sorry your back is giving you jip again.

WG, sorry about the latest setback for your op.

I was absolutely frozen in town. I usually get warm in the indoor shopping areas, but not today.
Praise be for central heating.Soon started to warm up when we got home.
Hubby says he's 99% fit. I'm a day behing him, so hope i feel better tomorrow.

Lizzie, enjoy your lovely weather while you can.

I think Gem is right - we know what our bodies can cope with better than anyone else, so perhaps it was the physio exercise that made your back so painful, Oma. Gem, poor S. I do feel for her. It's so frustrating when a food you loves doesn't love you in return. I hope it's just one bad mussel, but how can you tell without her eating them again.

Wee Granny, you must be very fed up having your op date/time/place changed yet again. Feeling generally relaxed must help with the pain. Take care and don't overdo things.

Our weather hasn't reached anything like Lizzie's temperatures today but about mid morning the clouds lifted and it's been pleasantly warm and sunny. Eight miles down the road, my DS2 decided it was too cold to be gardening today - it was dull and overcast all day. We got several jobs done. We've put the furniture to bed for the winter. All the cushions are indoors and the sofa and two stools are snugly covered and wrapped up for the winter. I emptied the saucers under the large pots as they were all full of water, so when we do come to move them they will have drained and be a bit easier to tuck away into sheltered corners.

Nanto, do you think it was your cold making you feel so shivery? I hope you do feel better tomorrow - and benefit from the extra hour in bed. xx

I took Eva out late afternoon and were amazed at the number of holiday makers about. I know it's half-term but it seemed very busy.

              Good morning one and all.

Daisy, I think I must have been going through the shivery stage of my cold.

We had morning sun yesterday, then it clouded over, but the sun reappeared in the afternoon.
Don't know what the forecast is for today.

Most of the clocks have been altered. Hubby just needs to alter those in the garage, shed, car and the garden clock.

I can't be bothered cooking, so I've taken some homemade chicken stew out of the freezer, will do some aunt Bessie dumplings with it.

                Good morning everyone.
Chilly start but it's bright and I believe we are in for a few dry days.

Nan2, that sounds a really good idea for your meal. It's my turn to cook but sadly I don't think we have anything like that in the freezer.

Oma. I hope you managed to sleep.

You got some good bedding down for winter jobs done there Daisy. Our patio furniture is put away and new hay in the hedgehog boxes. I need to bring in the geraniums. I learned a couple of years ago that they survive winter in our conservatory, but not outside, in the greenhouse, or the garage!

We have no plans today, but one of my aqua buddies is keen to see the kittens, so we will probably see if she is free to pop over this afternoon.
The cats loved all the attention from C and P last night! They are both cat lovers, but haven't had one of their own for many years.
I had my flu jab yesterday and feel a bit achy today, but it will pass.

                  Good Sunday morning, everyone.

We went to bed so late last night we missed out on the benefit of the extra hour's sleep!

Nanto, that teddy is living his best life - pure luxury. It's nice to have something in the freezer for those days when you really don't feel like cooking. Are you feeling ok now, no more shivers I hope.

Gem, I haven't grown any geraniums this year. They don't survive in the summer house I've found, and I couldn't stand having them in the house - I don't like the smell of them. I do like to see them in terracotta pots in the summer, though. I can see your kittens are going to be very well socialised and love your visitors. I hope the flu jab symptoms soon pass.

I think we'll make the most of what looks like another dry day and get on with the gardening.

Geranium is one of those scents people love or hate I think Daisy. I really like it.

Lovely sunny morning here, hope it lasts. DS and Dil are off for the start of their holiday in Normandy, Sil and DD are leaving tomorrow. The GC are in charge for the week and we will celebrate my birthday together.

Oma, I hope you are feeling less pain and have managed to sleep.

WG, so sorry to hear your op. Has been postponed again. I thought you might be going to have the op at the Chiltern Hospital.

Most of my clocks re-set themselves thank goodness.

                        Morning everyone

                        Plant
I hope they all enjoy the holiday,
Im sure the Grandchildren will be delighted to make a fuss of you on your birthday, they all love Grandma😁

                        WG
How frustrating about your op but better tge devil you know so they say,
Changing surgeons may not be a good idea.

                        Daisy
I love geraniums but like you dont like the smell,
When we had the large greenhouse, i would cut mine right back wrap the whole lot in bubble wrap and put blankets over them.
I was always lucky as our garden was south facing and the greenhouse was in a very sunny sheltered spot.
Sadly no where in my post box garden to store plants now.

                        Gem
Flu jabs do make you a bit achy for a day or two dont they,
I bet those kittens are getting spoilt 😁

                        Nanto
Chicken stew / casserole etc is always a good choice on a cold day even better when one is already cooked 😁

I didnt have a good night but i did manage a couple of hours on and off,

B has gone to his mothers on his own this morning , i know for a fact i couldnt get up three flights of stone steps to get into her house.

It was bad enough in the shower this morning , i couldnt wash my feet , then getting dried and putting my knickers on was again a struggle.
I had to shout for B to help get my legs in my trousers , it was the disabled helping the disabled 🤣🤣

What a pair we are , i had to sort or sit back on the bed so he could get my feet in them and above my knees, then i was able once i could haul myself up get them pulled up.

Just as well we could laugh about it.
Im popping the pain killers so im hopeful they will help.

Im not fat just 6ft too small

Oma, your struggles with getting dressed made me smile! I know exactly how you feel but at least you’ve got an extra pair of hands to help. I won’t be able to bend over after the op to pull up pants etc so I’m trying different ways of getting clothes on including using a grabber and a sock putter onner! Not the most glamorous of sights .

Plant, my original op was at the Chiltern, then the princess Margaret in Windsor, now the Thames Valley. DD and I are going to find exactly where it is later today.

I slept well last night and woke up to lovely sunshine. A welcome change after a few grey days. Have a good day everyone and I hope all the poorly people soon feel better xx

A friend of mine is having the same op in the Chiltern and has booked herself into a nursing home (Beaconsfield) as she hasn’t any family near.

Plant, hope the family have a lovely holiday.

Oma, i know i shouldn't have done, but i laughed at your shenaniggins getting dressed this morning.

We have got the garden winter ready this morning.
Some statues/ornaments wrapped up. A few plants trimmed.
One of the garden benches is wrapped up.

Found the hospital in lovely countryside and it doesn't look very big, unlike the last one! Plant, I suspect your friend has a different consultant to me. Fingers crossed nothing goes wrong this time!

Had a lovely lunch, feel very full, so definitely won't need much, if anything, to eat tonight!
