Gem, good job you were looking at your diary.
    Everyone enjoyed their meal.
did sticky toffee pudding and custard, instead of rhubarb crumble.
I had cooked a large joint, plenty of roast potatoes and veg, so i plated 2 meals that they will probably have tomorrow.
They have just left and gone to Asda for some shopping.

    Downstairs loo looks good Oma.

So sorry I haven’t joined in today. Interruptions this morning and board games this afternoon. Sil took me to the village hall so that I could join in the board games, it was nice to see everyone. Had a nice visit from DS this morning, checking up on me.

Nanto, you made my mouth water with your planned meals.

Oma, so sorry you Have back pain, not good for a busy lady such as you.

Gemini, Nice to catch up with old neighbours. shame about to golf match disqualification. Good job you noticed you out for dinner, no cooking tonight.

Enfys, very sensible not to overdo things now you are feeling a bit better.

Not long back from a pub lunch with the Ladies Group. It was a bit of a disappointment to be honest. Several of us have been there before and have always had a really good meal. I think they were short staffed in the kitchen because the manager was not his usual cheery self. It was good company and we had a lot of laughs on my table een if I id spend the meal perched on one hip!! Now need to think of something to eat tonight. I hadn't planned on still being hungry!

It seems to have turned a bit colder here today though the rain has held off so far, but the black clouds are gathering!

Hope all poorly people soon get rid of their aches and pains soon! I seem to be living off painkillers at the moment!

Have a good evening ladies x

Believe you can and you're halfway there.

Ooh I bet they enjoyed all that Nan2.

Plant I'm glad you were able to go to board games, I'm sure it will have done you good.

My poor ex neighbour has had a rubbish time of it recently and looks very old and thinner. He has a stair lift now so at least getting upstairs is easier. I am hoping when he recovers from his recent surgery and setback from that that he gets back to some sort of normal life .
He didn't feel able to go out so I went to the cafe in his street and bought us a coffee and slice of cake each. He appreciated me going and I hope felt a little better for it.

We are taking bets on what our friends will cook tonight. Chicken is the most likely , with salmon a second. They are always apologetic about being very unadventurous in their cooking and almost always doing the same thing. We say we are just delighted to be cooked for, and to have their company of course!

Sorry to hear you had a disappointing meal WeeGranny, at least you enjoyed the company and had some laughs. I wonder if I have been to the place where you had lunch. Like you painkillers are my best friend atm. I don’t like to take too much cocodamol , it binds me up.

Nanto, I'm sure everyone did enjoy their meal. Sticky toffee pudding is usually my first choice of pud in a restaurant, but I've never made it. Is it difficult?

Plant, I'm sure it did you good to get out and enjoy the board games. Did you and your DS have lots to chat about - just thinking of your family's busy week-end with all the short- and long-term visitors. It's a bit of a juggling act trying to balance pain relief with the side effects. Does it help if you drink extra fluids or take pre-biotics?

WeeGranny, it's turned a bit colder here as well this afternoon. What a disappointment that the meal wasn't up to the usual standard, and worse still, you were still hungry. Does it help your hip if you take a supportive cushion when you go out?

Gem, I'm so sorry to hear your ex-neighbour is looking more frail. Is he making a good recovery from the surgery and after-effects of it? At least he can get up and down stairs in comfort now. I'm sure he did feel better for your visit (plus the coffee and cake, of course). If he's on his own he probably has too much time to sit and worry. Does he have carers coming in to help?

What a good job you remembered about tonight. I'm sure you've enjoyed whatever meal your friends had cooked, and let's face it, sometimes we all really want something familiar and tasty.

Eva and I worked hard at dog training this afternoon. There were only 4 dogs, one of them fairly new to the class, so things which are done in turn like scent work, flyball or heel work mean you get more goes. A new dog in the class always means the "old paws" are a little bit on edge. One of the regulars was a proper giddy kipper today and none of us could decide if it was anxiety because of the new girl or exuberance because she had so much more space to work in. Eva kept wanting to sniff the newbie's bed. She goes round and sniffs all the beds at the start of every class, but she kept going back to this one bed every time she got near it!

                It's dry this morning.

Gem, sorry to hear your friend isn't very well.

WG, a shame about the meal, but at least you had company.

Shopping being delivered between 9 and 10.

Hubby meeting his pal for a couple of hours. They usually meet on a Friday, but hubby can't make it tomorrow.

Jacket potatoes for dinner, hubby's request. This time we'll have them with tuna mayo and cheese.

                    Good morning ladies.

Nan2, Aunt Bessie makes good sticky toffee pudding.

Daisy, this latest op for my friend was to unblock leg arteries in the hope of making him more mobile again. He was very fit and walked everywhere until 3 or 4 years ago.
There was some problem/mistake and so he had to have further surgery (he has had a leech attached ) An overnight planned hospital stay turned into 9 days. He doesn't have any help in the house as yet but i feel he needs it at least temporarily. Being a non driver he is much more isolated. I intend to keep driving as long as I can!

Little GS3 day today. He and his mum and dad are staying the night, something they like to do from time to time on a Thursday night. We will have fish and chips.

Up early, I am expecting a friend for a coffee, I am usually so slow in the mornings. Very dull but not raining atm.

Daisy, It was a surprise to see my son yesterday, he invited me for Christmas Day if I am up to it. He and dil are going to Normandy with Sil and DD in two weeks. Your Eva is almost human, you should write a book about all her antics.

                        Morning everyone

                        Daisy
A new lady on the block no the wonder the other dogs were giddy is she pretty 🤣
Eva wanted to know what the competition was.

                        Plant
Enjoy your morning , how nice DS to invite you for Christmas Day , you have a lovely family who obviously adore you 😁

                        Gem
Poor friend he must feel lonely and going from being active to not going out is hard for him,
I agree maybe some help even for a few weeks is advisable.

                        Nanto
we have never tried Aunt Bessie’s sticky toffee pud B usually makes it , but we have tried the Apple pie and that’s nice.especially with birds custard ,

                        WG
How disappointing the meal wasn’t up to scratch, when you come home hungry you feel cheated don’t you.
I hope you had something nice at home to make up for it 😁

I have my mammogram at 12 then straight to MILs she wants some jobs doing.

Not that I can do any , I’m pumped full of pain killers and I’m still struggling with my back.
We went to Aldi this morning only got a few bits it was too painful walking around.

My friend Dorothy was taken into hospital last night , her Lymphedema has been so bad her legs ulcerated and started to bleed,
She wasn’t well yesterday the nurse came out and got her into hospital she has sepsis, she’s on a antibiotics IV drip
James was at the stroke clinic yesterday morning and when him and SIL came back she was really poorly.
It never rains but it pours doesn’t it so the saying goes .

I'm a bit too late to say "Good Thursday morning", so I'll say "hello, everyone" instead.

Nanto, love the busy hairdressers graphic. It made me smile. It sounds as though Aunt Bessie does a good job with sticky toffee pudding! I always enjoy jacket potatoes with tuna mayo. Yummy. Did your shopping all arrive ok?

Gem, your poor ex-neighbour. He's been through the mill by the sound of it. I do hope he can quite literally get back on his feet, but some help around the house would make it easier for him. Does he have shopping delivered? Have a lovely evening with GS3 and mum and dad. Fish and chips is good - no cooking!

Plant, I hope you've enjoyed your coffee with your friend this morning. I'm sure Christmas at your DS's will be lovely, but knowing your family, quite busy as well. You will miss all 4 of them when they go off to Normandy in two weeks, but at least you will have GD1 and family and GS and his OH around to keep you company.

Oma, your back really is giving you a lot of pain, isn't it. Can anything be done to help? Mammograms are horrible, but so worth having. I hope MIL's jobs are easy ones. I'm so sorry to hear Dorothy is poorly and in hospital. Thank goodness the nurse realised she needed immediate antibiotics, but her poor legs must be agonising. With the worry about James' health as well, they must be feeling very low. I hope they are both ok - sending them healing vibes and prayers.

Dog training was interesting to say the least. There were 3 girls and only 1 boy yesterday, and yes, the new girl is very cute - think Hairy Maclary from Donaldson's Dairy, trotting very daintily and looking up adoringly at her "dad"! But I think what was really going on was from the previous evening. One of the male dogs had been obsessed with one of the female dogs, wanting to sniff round her bum, and not wanting to leave her alone. Quite out of character for him. Yesterday the owner of the girl dog realised there was a problem and the vet said her anal glands were blocked. Apparently this smells like a bitch in season, which explains the male dog's behaviour! I wonder now if there was residual scent on the floor which confused the giddy kipper and the male dog in our class. We can easily forget just how a dog's world is driven by scents we can't detect.

We've had a busy morning. It's OH's birthday today - he's 79. He had to pick up a friend at 11am to go to a funeral, but had several phone calls before that - he hasn't even opened his cards yet. Then a friend called round with card and present just as he was leaving, so she stayed for a coffee. I'm just going to try and decide what to make for dinner tonight - we've decided not to go out. We'll perhaps go out for lunch with DS2 and family on Sunday instead.

Could the world just slow down a bit, please, so I can catch up!

Oma poor Dorothy, and you with your back, healing vibes for you bothxx

Daisy, as a non driver my friend has had his shopping delivered from Tesco for as long as I can remember. He orders a lot from Amazon too.
                            Happy Birthday to your OH!

GS asked me if he could go to sleep, at 1.30, which is a bit later than his usual time! I usually take him up between 1 and quarter past. I think he must have thought I had forgotten. He loves his nap.

MIL was quite cheerful today, she wanted her bed made , I couldn’t do it so B did . He then put her bin out and did a few other jobs and I put her nicotine patch on her shoulder.
would only take her cardigan off not her top said it was too cold , it would only be for a minute .so i had to pull the neck as best I could to get it on .

Shes managing fine on her own apart from her not being able to go out shopping or do jobs like hang her washing out she’s back to normal .

She needs carer to help her bath but has told them she doesn’t need the nighttime carer .

Hallo everyone. I have some catching up to do, happy birthday to your DH Daisy.

Oma, your MIL seems to be coping on her own. Your poor friend Oma, her legs must be so painful, the same goes for your back, I hope it is soon better.

Gem, your poor ex neighbour, not nice to get to that age and be like that, he must get so lonely.

I am waiting for GD2, she may come on her bike, or, maybe DS1 will come with her as it is blowing a gale.

I have just been to take M a bag of vegetables I got from the Lidl, as a thank you for my suet face cream. I think you asked Plant if she sold her creams, no, she seems to do it for friends etc, she makes so many different creams etc. She was a beautician before retiring.

I have been to the husband of the friend I lost a few weeks ago, before the operation she asked if I could go and iron for them until she was back on her feet, not knowing what was going to happen. I ironed for them for 20 years so I didn't mind, now her DH has asked if I could help now and again so `I have been today. It is very quiet without her, he is coping well though, has hobbies, friends etc.

I went to the Lidl after the gym this morning, I usually go, have my backpack on, the young girl asked if she could look inside it!!! I must have given her a strange look as she told me that they have to control everyone since yesterday I was talking to the manager the other day and he was telling me that the shop lifting is really bad, from meat to wine etc, they even have to put special tickets on the meat!
