Im with your OH a hotel holiday after 3 days I want to come home , Im ok on a cruise but I get bored easy.
We have Cavolo Nero cabbage last night with our main meal,
I love cabbage especially if it has dark green leaves ,

We are popping down DDs with Bacon and bread ,
she is visiting MIL tonight who wants a bacon sandwich but it has to be Warburton’s toastie bread and Morrisons bacon,
So we got that for her , talk about demanding 🙄😁

Good morning. Overcast and drizzly here after a lovely sunny day yesterday. Luckily there is. Lovely safe garden so Dexter can be in and out as he pleases. The rain doesn’t bother him. Feeling a bit more human today. The swelling on my face is going down although I am a lovely shade of blue! My hip is very bruised but otherwise ok.

Had a call late last night from the maxilla facial doctor at Exeter hospital to tell me they had looked at the scans and have decided that there is no need for a follow up with them. If I have any problems when I’m home to go to our local hospital, I have all the paperwork, so that’s good. I’m pleased as the doctor I saw here in A & E said if the consultant thought it necessary I would need to go to Exeter for a follow up.

One of our friends will be 80 this week. She has a twin sister living down south and is going there for a birthday celebration. We have invited her here for lunch today to celebrate before she goes off. I will make an apple crumble for pud.

Oma, our cabbage is a lovely dark green savoy. Bid enough for loads of meals.
Hope MIL enjoys her bacon sandwich.

Been a busy day,freezed half of the cabbage,the rest is wrapped in foil in the fridge,minus what we had for dinner.
DS1 paid a visit,and stayed for dinner.
I made a strawberry and apple pie and a crumble with the same filling. Pie is in the freezer,crumble got eaten for dinner with custard.
Nephew called this afternoon and stayed for a couple of hours. Later bro in law from the bungalow came,and stayed for a good hour.

Plant, hope DIL has had a lovely birthday.
No, you don't need to cook cabbage before freezing. I never have anyway.

Good Monday morning, everyone. It looks like another dull, damp day for us today. Still no chance of cutting the jungle aka the lawn, or drying the mountains of washing outside.

Enfys, I'm so glad you are feeling better and the consultant is happy with you. I hope you (and Dexter!) enjoyt the rest of your holiday, whatever the weather throws at you.

Gem, I'm sure your friend enjoyed her 80th celebration with you. Did you sleep well?

Oma, MIL must be feeling better to want her bacon buttie precisely as she likes it. I'll write a bit about our holiday when I get a minute or two, but, yest Eva loved it - constant cuddles 6 or 7 walks a day - what's not to like as far as she's concerned! By the way - we still have dustbin lids so I can picture Nanto's cabbages exactly to size!!

Nanto, does cabbage keep better in the fridge wrapped in foil? I usually just stick mine in the vegetable drawer at the bottom of the fridge. You did well for visitors yesterday.

WeeGranny, I hope you're enjoying lots of sunshine on your holiday. Have you needed the stick?

This morning I'm going over to dS2's to try and get my phone sorted out. I've been without it for several weeks now, and it's very frustrating. I'm. sure GS1 could have got it up and running very quickly but with us being away, him being away, work etc it hasn't been possible to get together.

We've got friends coming for a meal on Thursday evening, and I'm at a loss what to cook. Something really easy, no garlic, not too spicy and not needing too much last minute attention - ideally I'd like to cook it in the morning. I'm still wading through the washing and got a load of ironing done this morning. I think about two more loads to wash, dry, iron and put away by tomorrow evening so I can tidy and clean the dining room for Thursday.

I would probably cook a shepherds pie in the morning then it just needs reheated and veg cooking later. But then I love Shepherd's pie

We have Storm for two days as DD is at a conference in Lemmington spa.
She drove down to Leeds from the hospital last night to stay with GS then travel on this morning.

If I had known she intended to drive to Leeds we would have gone in to see MIL but she wanted to see her before she went.

I have just phoned the Dentist ,
I have lost half the little tooth next to my front tooth , god knows where it is I think I must have swallowed it.
Its almost to the gum so I don’t think it can be saved ,
Appointment 22nd of next month was the earliest, just as well it’s not hurting just unsightly.

Off to hide Storms Steroid in a lump of cheese , he has stopped biting his paw so only two a day till they are finished.
