Plant - I'm so glad you've been able to have your op today, but sorry you are in such pain. I hope you get some sleep and can start on the road to recovery tomorrow. xxx
Nana - I'm struggling to keep up with everyone at the moment, after having visitors all last week and a busy week this week, too. I hope you do well in the Exhibition - let us know, won't you!
I've had a busy day with GD2, and just after she had gone down for her nap and I was ready to sit down for a few minutes, their next door neighbour phoned. She was in Christchurch and had locked her car and house keys in her car! I had to hunt around for her spare key which DIL has, and then go next door (thank goodness the baby video-cam is still on) to find her car keys. Then the neighbour the other side came back from her dog walking to collect keys and take them to the stranded neighbour. I was thinking afterwards that before we all had mobile phones that would have been a much bigger problem! then I started to wonder why car manufacturers make cars that are so keen to lock themselves that the owners get shut out!
I've missed 5 or 6 calls on my mobile in the last few days, coming from an unknown number (not on my contact list) but with a local code. Anyway, this morning when I was out with GD2 and their dog it rang again and I answered it. The caller, English and female, was almost unintelligible but I eventually worked out she was asking how many times I'd had delayed flights in the last 6 years. Juggling small child and dog wanting to go in opposite directions, I told her not to waste my time! "It's my job" she whined.

Plant, I hope the pain gets easier soon.
Good luck with the exhibition Nana.
Oma, I answered the phone at parents earlier this week, and they had the same problem with their computer, only they haven't had a computer for about 4 years.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.
Good morning everyone. the sun's shining here - although I think it may cloud over later. Still good to have some sun.
Gem - I wish I'd thought of that! I just said 'don't call me again'. I've blocked the number anyway.
OH is at the dentist - hopefully just a check up, and I'm just going to walk Eva round the block to enjoy the sunshine, then dog training this afternoon. Other than that, a clear day, but I'm still tired after yesterday. If you could buy energy in bottles I'd get a crateful!

Good morning. Daisy, my OH is going to the dentist this morning too!
Baby GS here all day, then GD here from school. I wish her school was closer! I may try looking after them at their house sometime, as it's a couple of minutes from school, as opposed to 30 minutes. GD expects her weekly visit to grandma's though, which she has had since a tiny baby. It would also makes a longer day for me of course.
Plant, I hope are not in too much pain today.

We are going to our new Portuguese Lessons this morning, unfortunately not very local (about a half and hour drive away), but i'm looking forward to the challenge. Bom Dia!

Morning ladies been shopping then OH Dr,s appointment then pick Dog up , had a bad night last night felt very sick for about 4 hours no idea why all I could think of was I had a little bag of Jellies babies and maybe it was too much sugar , I'm ok this morning though ,
Avo good luck with them lessons ,
Plant if your looking in I hope you have less pain today .
Nanto these callers just don't give up do they .
Careers been in to wash me, I felt very sick and a bit lightheaded when I got up so I am not getting dressed, in fact I am still in bed. Just managing the pain now, I do feel for such a long operation they should keep you in overnight. The staff were wonderful, one nurse looked after me and came with me into the Theatre. DD home today so I am pleased there is someone here. Surgeon was pleased with it, said it really needed doing, I think I have got a plate. I go to the clinic next Friday, hope they will put something a bit more attractive on my arm as on the Sat. I am going to a charity ball and I have bought myself a new dress.
What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare
Hope you are soon feeling strong again Plant. Lesson went well, got a fair bit of catching up to do as the classes started whilst we were still in Portugal.....

Good afternoon all.
Plant, take things easy, hope the pain isn't too bad for you.
I've had a busy morning, I went to Boots and treated myself to some new make up with the money I had for my birthday, paid an arm and a leg for it mind you !
Then I had my flu jab, the arm is really sore at the mo, I think a javelin was used on me instead of a syringe! (I didn't look as I tend to faint if I see the needle go in )!
We then went for a meal, just a pub/restaurant type . I had cheese and broccoli bake with a jacket potato and OH had lasagna with garlic bread.
When we got home, OH mowed the lawn and I planted out some wallflowers in the back garden and I do believe I can hear OH mowing the back lawn as I type.Someone is going to be complaining that they are tired this evening.
When we were in town I had a look in M and S at the sale they have on at the moment. What a load of old rubbish they have in store. I was looking for some new tops . It seems to me there is a choice of any colour as long as it's black !! No wonder M and S isn't doing to well at the moment.Terrible choice of clothing in store.
We have a new M and S opening tomorrow near(ish) us, I shan't rush over on opening day but I am looking forward to not having to drag into Cambridge with the parking and traffic problems.

Plant - I hope you've had a restful day. Thank goodness your DD is home now - it's reassuring to know she's close by.
Avo -Boa sorte (I Googled it - I think i tmeans 'good luck') I think Portuguese looks like a very difficult language - but at least you will get some real life practice in when you go over to your villa. I keep saying I'd like to go to Spanish classes but at the moment life's too busy. I've tried learning from CDs and find it much easier to listen than speak! But you and your OH will be able to practise together.
Mimi - I agree about M&S and colours. They're all so dreary and not flattering to most fair-skinned complexions. Last time I went in I did find a few bargains, but the main bright colour was an organge with a sort of neon glow about it - hideous.
Gem - I don't have quite as far as you to travel, but I find it easier to look after GD2 at their house, and it saves her mum and/or dad having to make a difficult journey across the Forest - fine in the summer but horrible in the winter when it's dark. It also means GD1 can come home from school and relax - she hasn't got to go out again.
