I escaped from the dentist with no more alarming than an appointment with the hygienist and a hit to my credit card. But it's always nice to have a chat with the receptionist who is a retired teaching colleague.
Had coffee with friends, came home for lunch and I don't know where the afternoon disappeared to but it did! How can that happen! We took Eva for her mad gallop about 5.30 and it's noticeable how much cooler it is now in the evenings.
Oma and Gem - glad you had a good get together.

Good news about the Dentist Daisy, I never know which I dread the most, the fear of any treatment or the final cost it will be.
Its a very wet day out there today, and also judging by the draft that came through the cat flap this morning when our cat went out its a lot cooler .
I'm off to my yoga class this morning and then when I get back GD should arrive . She is staying the night with us .Chances are we will spend the evening watching the dreaded factor on tv but as I get to snuggle down on the sofa with her its not all bad.
Have a happy day, hope the weather is better where you are.Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Good morning all.
My cold has progressed to the hoarse stage. As we have 2 friends coming over for a meal tonight I must rest my voice so I can speak to them!
Mimi, I will watch various things to snuggle on the sofa and watch them with GD“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Good October dawn, ladies!
My dentist is lovely. He tells me I'm lucky to have all my own teeth (at my age!) and expects them all to be present and ok for at least the next 20 years!
Lots to do today, since we're going away in the caravan on Wednesday and I have this morning and tomorrow to get everything ready. I'm sure I'll be able to speed this up but for the first time, it's hard to know exactly what we'll need/find useful. As always, I find it hard to know what clothes to take because you're never sure what the weather will do!
This afternoon there's a 2 hour dog walk run by our trainer, so I'll take Eva to that. It would be nice if the rain stopped!
Have a good day everyone.

Daisy, I hope you have a lovely caravan break
A holiday in the sun, which you mentioned on another thread, this time of year sounds tempting too! With GD and GS1s birthdays 2 weeks apart, DD1s anniversary (when we usually have GS overnight so they can go away ) in between, and my mums birthday at the end of September, we can never fit it in!
Safe journey home Oma. You have a lovely bright sunny day for your last day here“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Raining buckets here , hopefully clearing later. Looks like it's wet weather gear for the walk today. This afternoon going to DDs to wallpaper one wall in her bedroom, tonight DD and hubs are off to concert. So I have full control of the remote, lucky me."What doesn't kill us,makes us stronger."

Enfy - we're going to what we hope will be a fairly quiet site near Blandford Forum. It's not to far to drive with the caravan for the first time, and some friends will be there as well. There are good dog walks, so we're hoping it will at least be dry. We love the scenery in Dorset and having it so close is a bonus. We went down to Durdle Door last week on a glorious sunny day. Needless to say the world and his wife were there, too!
Last time we took a caravan to Devon we had to back up a single track road for several hundred yards - not an experience I enjoyed and I wasn't driving! I don't know Somerset very well, but can imagine the roads are quite a challenge.
Oma - I hope and pray the scan will bring good news on Tuesday. xx"Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "
