Good morning ladies . There is a very thick fog where we are and it's not very warm . OH and myself decided to go for a walk and what was the first thing we saw , a dead bird on our doorstep, poor thing. Darn cat !!
Still unable to walk very far without pain in my hip and back, really fed up with it now, when I think back to when I was young. I played tennis, hockey ran for the school and when I wasn't doing that I could be found climbing the neighbours tree . ! This getting older isn't all it's cracked up to be but I mustn't complain , so many many are denied getting older.
Moan our, back to silly old me .Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Children have gone, a bit of a rest for me then to make my mums Christmas cake. Once that is in the oven I must do some present wrapping.
Mimi, moan away, the aches and pains a lot of us get are no fun at all!
Baby woke to be fed at 1.30 am, then again at 6.20. Often he sleeps right through, but not last night! Luckily,.unlike my other GS, neither this baby or his sister are early risers. So, after a nappy change and quick bottle he went back until 8,30.
GS 1 all day tomorrow but after that I don't think I have any childcare until after my op.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Hello everyone. I haven't just got up but this is my first chance to get online!
The GS's have now gone home. Clover - I can tell you and I have the same sort of conversations with our grandsons. Plant - I've no idea where he gets his knowledge from, but he does everything in great detail. He was roaming round the house looking for broken or unwanted electronic devices (calculators etc) so he could take them apart for 'spares'! I can see next time we'll have to lock up our bedside clock etc.Clover - I'll update on schools in another thread. GS2 challenged me to a game of Monopoly this morning - on his Nintendo. I haven't played for years and I found the electronic version quite confusing. Needless to say I lost, and that was after GS had given me all his money. I think he's quite worried now that Grandma's money management skills are very poor - in every sense of the word!!!
Enfys - I meant to say yesterday, what lovely new neighbours you've got. I'm sure you'll have a good evening - and easy to walk home.
Mimi - poor you. It's so wearing being in pain like that, and you're entitled to have a moan when it gets you down.
Gem - you need a bigger bed! We ended up being pushed out by one rather large dog and one fidgety grandson this morning, but it was about 9.30!
LG - To stop you getting bored this week, do you fancy popping over this way and doing some blitzing in our house? Pretty please.
Oma - I hope Brian's appetite was tempted by that nice fresh bread. I should think you both need a quiet day to relax and just enjoy being together.
I'm going to do something really easy for tea and then put my feet up, before an early start tomorrow. GD2 still isn't very well, but I'm hoping she will be well enough to come over to our house for the day, just for a change."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. Hope it goes well at the hospital, Oma /)
we we have our walking group Christmas ""do" this morning. It's like an American Supper but at lunchtimeand a good chance to all have a chat and mingle.
Why is it that I just get over one thing....my vertigo has almost gone...then something else happens. I've done something to my back and it's so painful. Beginning to feel my age now. (Note to self: buck up and don't start moaning ). This morning should help .

Good morning everyone.
Enfys, I hope you enjoy your meal,it sounds fun! Sorry to hear about your back though.
As there is no preschool, GS1 was here just after 8 am. We have Christmas crafts planned, along with several other things. Right now he is watching some Christmas TV however
Tonight it my Christmas meal out with the 2 friends I worked with for years. One of them had breast cancer, so knows something of how it feels. She had a mastectomy though, like my OH so I am luckier.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Morning all. Its yet another foggy morning here again.
Oma hope it all goes well at the hospital today.
Gem, enjoy your Christmas meal, I had a Christmas meal my friends last week. We all used to work together and we still meet up a few times a year especially just before Christmas.
Enfys you have my sympathy where your back is concerned , I am truly fed up with it now. I used to be able to take a few pain killers and get on with things but now I have to judge each day how much I can do , walking is a nightmare.
Enjoy your day everyone, not long now till the big day !!Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Good afternoon everyone. Just having a quick catch up while Gd2 is asleep and GD1 is occupied with the CBeebies Advent calendar.
Its ta a grey and murky day here., and this sort of weather seems to sap my energy.
Enfys , lots of sympathy from me..a bad back is horrible. I hope it soon improves.
Oma, I hope everything was ok with B, and you are now back home and relaxing."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

Thank you Mimi and Daisy.
Had a nice morning with our group, lots of laughs with the quiz and plenty of food to enjoy. Now it's raining so I have given the conservatory a spruce up and have nice smelly candles out there. It does get cold and a bit damp in the winter, wish I knew what to do to make it more cosy. Any tips appreciated
we we also have DDs dog for a couple of hours, he's so good, has completely ignored the presents under the tree 🎁🎄
