Good morning all. Hope you are all well.
Got appointment at the Drs this morning, fingers crossed we have got this hiatus hernia under control. I don't fancy a trip to the hospital and all that entails again ! Plus I must rebook my appointment for my smear test as I had to cancel the last one. Oh the joys of being a woman!
    Have a happy Monday everyone
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

      Feeling very sad today.

my DD has just told us that one of her friends teenage son has sadly passed away due to complications from type 1 diabetes. You may know that our DGS also is type 1 and DD is so worried about him going to university in September. This will add to her concerns, this is the second time this has happened in the last 12 months. It is a truly awful disease and people just do not understand the implications. There are still comments made about eating too many sweets etc and when this sort of thing happens it really doesn't help. No matter how careful you are about eating well, keeping a check in your blood sugar etc things can still go wrong. DH is also type 1 and he can still get hypos even though we are so careful, even after 50 years of having the disease.

I'm rambling a bit, just feeling so shocked and sad and worried for DGS when he goes off and has to look after himself.

        Good morning everyone.
Daisy, what lovely happy photos. Your GS looks very happy, good looking boy

A few things to do today . Firstly drive across town to deliver a friends birthday card which I forgot to post in time
To my nail lady at 10.30 for Minx toes, to the post office to collect our euros, then I have 2 clients after lunch. No more clients after that before my holiday, and no childcare! I was to have had GS1 all day tomorrow, but DD had double booked them, so he's not coming!

I just don't know what to,say to DD when she is already so worried about him going away. Last time this happened, to a friends daughter who,was at Uni, she tried so,hard to persuade him to go to uni here in our home town, but he is adamant that he wants to go to Reading as they have the subjects he want to study there. I know she has to let him go but can understand how she feels.

Enfys, in YEO we have a thread called Our loved ones health ( or something similar ) It may help to post about this on there as well, as things often get missed on the chat thread xx

I'm sorry to hear Grans worries on here. I hope the days will be less stressful as the week goes on. I bought a small version of a toy called a Jumperoo from a Children's charity shop yesterday (OH fit it in the boot so all fine & dandy). Today I thought I'd give it a good clean. It looked clean enough but when I took it apart it had what looked like yrs of child's food & gunge on it. Thank goodness for steam cleaners.

You have lovely GC Daisy. I enjoyed seeing your photos.
Enfys,I'm so sad to hear about the loss of the young man. Devastating for everyone.I know you must be worried about your GS and your DD worrying too. Easy to say but I'm sure he'll be fine. If he has had he condition a while he will know how to cope and be sensible. He'll soon make friends and once they are aware of his diabetes they're sure to keep an eye on him too.Our DS2 has Crohn's Disease and managed very well at Uni managing his condition.
I've been into town this morning and got a few bargains. It's sad to see BHS closing down but I spent a happy half hour browsing their Sale.

Well tiles in utility grouted so decided to emulsion the ceiling that led to the walls although not much walls left now bottom half is tiled, Storm was very good he came and sat in the doorway watching me for a while then wandered off to the garden and slept, neck aches now looking up but its done now so only the wall cupboards and new work top to put on .a tiny room but seems to be taking forever , I think its because its just to stuffy to do to much I'm getting tired quickly with it

Been a busy day, what with in-laws then my own jobs.
Nice to hear the utility is getting there Oma.
Remember me posting a few days ago, about the lovely girl in Farmfoods, well I got a nice surprise in the post from them today, a £5 voucher.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Oma - it sounds like you're overdoing things a bit, especially in this heat! Take it easy girl, the utility room will still be there tomorrow!

Nanto - nice to know your comments were appreciated.

Clover - it is sad about BHS and all those people who will lose their jobs while Philip Green sits on his fortune. There was a lady on the radio today saying how she'd loved her job there and had hoped she would be their until she retired. Plus of course all the staff whose pensions are now so uncertain.

Thank you all the the lovely comments on the photos. The little girl in yellow with the amazing plaits is GS's cousin from the other side of his family. She's 4 ½ and quite grown up!

It's been a long and rather tiring day today, although both GDs have been very good. I'll have to learn that I can't party hard and then feel full of the joys of spring the next day. An early night is needed!

Sorry to hear Enfys of the young man that has died so young hope all will be well with your boy though at uni I am sure he will be fine but it must be a worry.
