Nan2, the snow is here with us! It looks pretty and white everywhere. It's not deep, so I hope it will have gone by the time I need to drive this afternoon.

Afternoon all.
Oma, how is Brain, its not surprising he has gone down with that nasty bug, its so contagious
This morning we had to take our cat to the vet. She is a very shy, nervous cat, she usually spends most of her day hidden behind the sofa , or curled up in a ball on the sofa bed in the spare room but lately she has been even more remote. She has been biting her back , causing sores and bald patches and very reluctant to go outside to 'do her business' . There is a nasty tom cat that keeps trying to get into the flat, he sprays all over the cat flap, the bins and the back bedroom window. He has attacked her before now, the poor love.
The vet has said she is stressed , she has had to have two injections to clear up the sores on her back and we have got tablets to give her ( they can be broken down and sprinkled over her food) . And as I am sat here typing this another tom cat is trying to get in through the cat flap. I don't know what they think they will get as our cat has been spayed !
The vet said because she has been reluctant to go and do 'her business 'she is making her self ill so we have had to bring the old litter tray in from the shed( good job I still have it and a bag of litter) so that she won't need to go out side unless she wants to. On top of this I had a large vet bill to pay, but luckily just over a month ago I took out a pet insurance on her so hopefully they will pay out .Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Poor Brian I wondered and hoped he would escape the lurgy, thats the trouble when you live in close proximity. Hope he gets over quickly Oma. Sunny but very cold today, but another lovely walk with hubby for company. I put him in sole control of pup today and held back, he was fab in his recall for Brian. Hubs lacks confidence in letting Shiloh off lead, but pup needs to run off all that energy and on lead walk just doesn't cut it. I'm at work for 1 day so Thursday he is going to bite the bullet and let him off, but if I come home to a dogless home sparks could flybut I know he just has tohave faith/ lots of yummy treats/ a ball and his whistle all will be well.No youngest ones being half term, but my eldest 2 coming for the day tomorrow. So looking forward to seeing them.

Oma - I hope Brian's soon better. I was hoping he might avoid catching the bug, but it's almost bound to happen. Poor Brian - did he manage to eat the toast?
Mimi - your poor little cat! Hopefully giving her 'indoor plumbing' will help her feel safer, but am I right in thinking she will still be able to smell the toms if they are spraying near the catflap? Why on earth don't people get their toms neutered! Although I wonder how effective neutering and spaying is in changing behaviour - our son's dog (neutered male, age about 14) is still showing ungentlemanly interests in Eva who was spayed a few weeks ago. I suppose it may be her hormones are still detectable by him - but he still has designs on her! Fortunately she is larger and just gently shrugs him off. I hope your insurance company pay up.
Plant - I know your family was sad about losing your male cat, but the change in his sister must feel like some compensation.
LG - well done to hubby and doggy! Your hard work with the training is paying off. We're tentatively letting Eva off the lead if there's no-one around and she recalls very well - but if another dog appears even a long way away she would go haring off after it! I think there must be some greyhound in her the speed she moves at.
It's been bitterly cold here today, after a sharp frost last night, but it's been sunny all day.
