I agree with your OH Zizi, I was always ill in school holidays and my GD was ill last year on her holiday.

Well I got an appointment, saw the doctor, got anti biotics and went to chemist. Got my purse out to pay and the woman said "did you want something else?". "Errr no, I want to pay for the prescription" she pointed to my age on the document and said "is this not right?" I confirmed that I am that age (60) and she said I didn't have to pay! I thought, as everything else has moved to 66 including bus passes etc., that I would still have to pay for prescriptions so that was a nice surprise. The doctor was VERY young, but he listened carefully to my explanation and said that I clearly knew what I was talking about and he had no hesitation in giving me a prescription.

Before I went I did a bit of work and got all my clothes out for holiday. My favourite shorts are too tight for me, well I can do them up but really if you are in a hot country you don't want anything too tight do you? I have lost one of my favourite shoes - how did that happen when they are all boxed? Ah yes that will be little Miss Sadie taking my shoes and handbags out of their homes when she comes here. Goodness knows where the shoe is! I haven't opened the handbag boxes yet. It will be an adventure.........

Yes Zizi, one of the benefits of reaching 60 last year is I no longer pay for my BP meds each month!

Zizi - thank goodness you saw a sympathetic doctor and got the anti-biotics. Now, if only you can find that shoe ... you'll be all ready to jet off into the sunshine. I do hope the fog doesn't hang around long enough to upset your flight schedule.

Interesting day for me, my planned day got unravelled. First part of the day went as planned, cleaned, mopped floors, cleaned bathroom etc. Then appointment at opticians at 12.20 and it was then my day went pear shaped. Usual tests and then he decided to put drops in to dilate my pupils as he was concerned about my right eye, consequently 1 and a half hours later he had called BGH and I was booked in to see eye specialist for 4pm. Query detached retina, not allowed to drive after drops so hubs and I got the bus to BGH,, 3 1/2 hours I was there 3 different lots of eye drops, 2 Doctors and it turns out I have a blister on my retina, when and how long it's been there goodness knows. So now have to wait for an appointment to see Consultant to discuss what if anything needs to be done. I go back to actually choose my frames tomorrow and do the other things that were on todays agenda.

Things happened very quickly Libra, that is very good, strange that you didn't have any symptoms.

I hope you get a good nights sleep tonight Oma

Goodnight all, I hope you all sleep well and that tomorrow is a good day for everyone .
Also it would be nice to see a day without flipping fog. It's been horrible out there for a few days now,
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Good grief Libra! Does BGH stand for Birmingham General Hospital? When I started with my eye problems a Gran suggested I ask for a second opinion there as it has a very good eye clinic. I considered it but it's too far away & I don't drive. Its wonderful that they got you sorted straight away. I'm pleased to hear it's not a detached retina. I'm also pleased to hear that your optician referred you as quickly as they did. A good result . I hope that your appointment gets sorted quickly too.

Mimi, it may be horrible out there, but what a beautiful, atmospheric photo.
