Haven't been able to get on here much as it's been a bit fraught of late. DS and family moved house last Friday and as you know that is a very stressful occasion. When they got there DS found 18 lots of dog poo in the garden and the house was covered in dog hairs. He's allergic to dogs and so am I. Then he mowed the lawn - which is vast - on the Sunday evening and when he was putting the mower away he twisted his foot in a hole in the grass that was hidden. So OH had to turn out and take him to A&E. Soft tissue damage but nasty all the same. I've cooked 12 days worth of meals for them and we had their 17 year old cat who had lost huge amounts of weight while we were all on holiday. She settled on ok but stopped eating and died on Thursday morning. Everyone in tears and GS very upset. We've been doing a heap of work at their new house, not a minute to spare and so much more to do. I have to meet the Mayor tomorrow to get my prize for my story, I really could do without that as there is so much piling up. Ah well, at least I've made it onto here at last.

Sum1Ls - What a fraught time you've had! I'm so sorry to hear your family have lost their much-loved cat. You can only think that 17 is a very good age and I'm sure she had a very good life. It doesn't stop you missing them though. xx
You deserve a medal for all that cooking! What luxury for your family to have such a good stash of home-cooked deliciousness.
It amazes me what disgusting things people leave behind when they move. When my DS1 moved about 5 or 6 years ago we found the compost bin had been used like a pig swill container - in June! - and I cleaned it out. Urrgghhhhh!!!
Relax and enjoy your fame today - you need a break after everything else."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

Good morning, Nanto. We've got a nice start to the day, too, but there's a definite early morning chill now!
Last night we went to a murder mystery evening in the village. I found myself as one of the suspects (totally miscast as the chef in the restaurant!) and most people thought I was the murderer!!! Pleased to say the real murderer was identified eventually, but it was fun and had us all debating the evidence."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. Pleased you're back Sum1. I wondered where you'd got to. It's a sad day when a much loved pet dies. Sorry to hear what a state garden & house was left. There's no understanding some people. Hoping your DSs ankle heals quickly.
Happy Birthday to your mum Gem. I hope she's in good form.😏"Good friends help you to find important things when you have lost them....your smile, your hope, and your courage."
