I am going up to town to our Euston Office as I have organised a "buddy training" day for people to work with homeless and vulnerable people I get work placements for. I will have to be there until 4pm at least when the course finishes. Tomorrow I am up in Stratford for a 12 noon meeting about the regeneration of the Olympic Park open spaces into "cultural area" followed by a meeting with the new co-ordinator for BITC Business Connectors. Then husband and I will check into Holiday Inn in preparation for Time to Shine on Saturday. We will also stay over Saturday night as there are a load of us going out and I think I might get a bit squiffy........
If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together

All fine with OHs bloods (I have written more on YEO) so she's gone off to golf with a spring in her step
Oma, I hope your painful fingers are improving, and that you can catch up on your sleep.

Daisy, a few weeks ago I fed two cats belonging to some new neighbours a fee doors away. I only ever saw a tip of a tail when we scared each other and one cat had shot through the cat flap at the side of me. I knew they were ok as their food disappeared twice a day! I did panic one day when the food hadn't been touched by the evening but it was very hot that day so I emptied the bowls out to put fresh in, which had disappeared the following morning. Always a worry when they aren't yours.
It reminds me of a time I was looking after my neighbour's rabbit which escaped when I was cleaning the run. I was trying to capture it but without success so I stripped my tee-shirt off to drop on top of the rabbit. This was successful and I just managed to replace my top when the neighbour the other side came round the corner as he had heard me calling the rabbit!

MillisB - now, strippping off to catch a rabbit is above and beyond the call of duty - but it made me laugh!
Zizi - Have a great time at T2S - I'm sure it will all go well, but you'll be ready to let your hair down by the end of the day, I'm sure!
Oma - poor you. It's awful when you're tired but can't sleep because of pain.
It's been a lovely day here (sorry ladies who have had nothing but rain). I had a lovely lunch with a couple of friends at the golf club, and we sat and chatted as we watched the golfers hitting balls into a water hazard because it was quite windy. We're off to Warsash (near Portsmouth) tomorrow to see some friends, then on Saturday morning we've got to leave the house at 7 am (yes, AM) to go to a local agricultural show where OH is demonstrating for the day. Luckily my lovely friend is coming Friday night and staying Saturday night to look after Eva since we'll be out for about 12 hours.
Gem - thanks for the offer of cat support! We've now got 4 cats to look after this week-end as our new neighbour next door is away for the week-end as well. Their cat is about 15 and I think I must have looked a bit alarmed when Cat Mum said they haven't registered with a vet yet! Fingers crossed the old lady is ok.

Millie, we had friends in Lincoln who we visited frequently. However, this was the early 80's, and I don't really remember what we did!
I believe Elisi and GrannyJules are not far from there, so may be able to help you“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Millie - I'm sure Elisi would recommend the cathedral - she knows it very well.
I've only been there once, but seem to remember thinking the old part of the city is interesting."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

Good morning all.
Libra Gran, enjoy your afternoon/evening baby sitting. Happy anniversary your DD .
Well yesterday I finally did , after two cancelled appointments I have had my smear . Just got to wait for the results now !
Now that I've had a haircut I thought I'd better colour my hair as the grey is showing more than usual. To be honest the blonde/grey look I have at the moment looks quite nice,so I have to wonder why I am bothering to dye it, perhaps it has something to do with having two boxes of hair dye in the cupboard that could do with using up.Bring me sunshine in your smile.
