I am enjoying reading your diaries, I hope you will excuse me if I don’t reply. I have had a painful shower and dressed today. All of my chairs are too soft so I am sitting on a dining chair with a warm wrap around my back. I hate being dependent on my DD and sil. I certainly will phone the surgery tomorrow morning.

Well we did have the exciting trip to Screwfix to buy some special cleaner to remove the oil from my car which has stained the driveway.

Then on to the new massive branch of Go Outdoors which has moved into what was John Lewis. Just for a look there then to M&S food hall and upstairs for coffee and a cheese scone.
We got back just in time to rescue the towels from the washing line and the electric hedge trimmer which was left out. There was a short shower then it cleared up. Very cloudy though.

Gem, you're a girl after my own heart! Zero bedrooms done sounds just like me!

Plant, I hope you can get a doctor's appointment straight away. Big (gentle) hugs.

Oma, I hope your DD can speed up your MIL's move to respite care. Fingers crossed.

Both OH and I have had one of THOSE days! Too much to relate tonight, as I badly need an early night. See you all in the morning. xx

                  Good morning. Overcast this morning.

Daisy, hope you and OH have a better day.

Gem, Screwfix, i bet you couldn't contain your excitement.

Plant, how are you this morning?

I'm going into town with hubby, but we will part company when he meets his pal, then meet up to come home.
I only want a few bits, but it'll get me out, seeing as we didn't go out on Saturday.

                  Salad for dinner with chicken.

Enjoy your town visit , as you say it gets you out .

Are you at the gym this morning or Aqua?

A bit dull but dry so far
GS coming for his breakfast but that could be anytime ,
not sure if he is at work this morning he does a 5am to 10 am shift so it will be about 11 when he gets here if he is

B busy measuring up for new locks on the back door and patio doors.
We changed the front door one last week to a high security one .
I felt if we were doing the front it would be silly not to get the same for the back of the house.

Appt made with doctor, not until 11.30, at least I haven’t got to rush. I feel like Goldilocks, I think I have tried every chair in the house and next door.

                        Good morning everyone.

Nan2, a trip to town is much more fun than a trip to Screwfix

Oma, I agree the tip is even worse! Good idea to make the back of the house as secure as the front.

Poor Plant sounds very like my auntie was several years ago. I hope things are better soon.

GS1 day today. We are staying in this morning and going to the cinema to see Twisters this afternoon. Golf for OH today.

Good morning, our aqua starts again next Monday Oma, gym this morning, I went later that usual, prefer the early visit! Than I missed an important phone call, I thought it was planned for Thursday

                          Plant, how is your back?

Nanto, enjoy the visit to the town, I was thinking of going into Rotterdam but I will wait, I used to have a Rotterdam card for museums, Euromast etc etc, when lock down put an end to all that I never bothered again, so, I have ordered one and it should be here this week, then I can get to the zoo etc again.

The iPad saga of my GD2 is similar to your car Gem! the screen was smashed and we went for a new screen, it wasn't working as it should so we went back, he opened it etc and said it could have been a loose wire, but, he ordered a new screen and said if it wasn't right to go back, it was the right hand side of the screen that wasn't working, the man was on holiday then we were away, she goes back to school next week so I said we would go yesterday, we took it in and she explained what the problem was, he said he would fit the new screen, it would take a couple of hours so we couldn't wait, I took her back home then went to pick it up on my Ebike at 5pm, we didn't have a code so he said to take it and see if it was working, otherwise, we would be back there again, I must say there isn't a friendlier, helpful man, I took it to GD2 and she tried it out and said it was working as it should, she was going to try it all last night after football training so I will hear this morning if it is all working, then I can let him know.

It is still warm here 23 at the moment. Warmer the next few days, I can cope with this though.

                            Good Tuesday morning everyone.

Plant, pleased to hear you've got a doctor's appointment for today. I was thinking you might have to wait a few days, which would have been awful.

Lizzie, I hope you can catch up on the missed phone call ok. It's funny how we get a preference for certain times for our regular activities. What a helpful man mending your GD2's iPad. She'll need it when she goes back to school.

Gem, have a lovely day with GS1. I hope it's dry where you are for OH's golf.

Oma, it makes sense to get the back of the house as secure as the front. What has GS asked for for his breakfast? I bet he's hungry after starting work so early.

Nanto, enjoy your trip out. Sometimes it's nice to be able to browse round on your own.

Nothing seemed to work smoothly yesterday! OH has taken down the old wooden compost bins, so he took them apart ready to take the wood to the tip. Then he got the tiller we used to use at the allotment out. It's a petrol driven one. He was going to plough up the area where I want to make a little memory garden. We can't do it until we've replaced a fence panel, but it would give the soil time to settle. He accidentally put the wrong fuel in it - it's a 2-stroke engine. He drained it, put the right stuff in and it still won't work. But of course, this took most of the day and he needs to get something done in his wood turning shed, so he started that, but it was too late to finish it.

I did a load of ironing and ended up with my neck and shoulders aching badly. But I went out the cleared a planting trough, put fresh compost and fertiliser in and dug it all in, and planted a row of kale plug plants DS2 had given me. I couldn't remember what eats kale - slugs, mice, birds etc - so put wool deterrent round the plants and then netted then, but couldn't find anything to support the netting with. I'll have to cut some canes down today. But by then my neck and shoulders were worse, so I lay down on the bed for a rest and fell asleep. At least I felt better afterwards, so decided to take the dogs out. Almost immediately Eva relieved herself, so I bagged it up and hooked the bag round my little finger as I usually do. But to my horror bout 10 minutes later I realised I'd dropped the bag! "Good" dog walkers just don't leave poo bags lying around, do they! Especially when you're walking along a road of houses worth north of £2m, with immaculate grass footpaths. So I retraced my steps. Couldn't find it. Did the rest of the walk and went back along this posh road, and eventually spotted it! Phew. So a short walk had taken well over an hour.

The early night didn't go well either, as Bailey woke me up and I couldn't get back to sleep. Hey ho. Today's another day.

PS - to add to the birthday outings of Screwfix and the tip - I was once taken to a scrap yard on my birthday!!

Just back from the doctors, she thinks it is a kidney infection. I was able to do a very small sample and it was infected, she wants a full sample tomorrow morning. I think she might be right, she has prescribed codine for the pain.

Ouch Plant , kidney infections are very painful, I hope you don’t have kidney stones.
Hopefully once they get the full sample she will be able to give you something to clear it xx

what I hate to see is people who bag the poo up then throw them in trees,
It would be better to leave it to break down in the soil . It’s laziness , I mean how difficult is it to just take home or find a poo bin,
Good for you going back for it.

Have you done anything to cause your neck and shoulder pain?

                                Lizzie
Isnt it annoying when you miss an important call.
I hope the screen works for GD.

                                Enjoy your cinema trip.

GS came for breakfast , a full English was requested.
I thought he was at work but he was going to his friends sisters funeral.

She dies suddenly last week from a heart attack , she was only 18 , so sad
When she collapsed they ran to the nearby golf course to get a defibrillator, the golf club didn’t have one 😱
So far they have raised £20 thousand pounds for several of them .

The Paramedics said it wouldn’t have worked anyway , she had a heart condition they were unaware of .

We have just been to Farmfoods and just as we got out of the car the heavens opened and lashed down.
