Good morning. Still dark but its dry.

Yesterday we ended up going for a pub meal with friends. After, they came back to ours for a cuppa.
They stayed quite a while, don't think they wanted to go home.

Shopping being delivered between 9 and 10.

Dinner today is baby potatoes from the freezer, they will go in the air fryer to crisp them up, cod in breadcrumbs curtesy of captain birds eye, veg and parsley sauce.

Daisy you got a lot done yesterday.

Plant, hope the antibiotics do the trick. You must be so fed up.

    Gem,not long until your holiday.

Good morning Nan2 and everyone else.

Daisy , I hope you slept well after that busy day in the garden !
I did get my Mermaid's tears nails and they are beautiful 😊

      Sending love to Plant xxx

Today I am going to town with DD's 2,3 and GSs 2 and 3. Both boys need shoes so we will be going to a shoe shop and having a picnic.
DD3 hasn't got much work this week so suggested we do this rather than me looking after GS3 for the day. DD and GS3 are coming back with me as he has been asking to come Grandma's house all week!

        Morning ladies,
quite a mild day so far.

        Gem
Enjoy your day with DDs and GSs it will be a nice change.

        Daisy
You we’re busy yesterday I hope you slept well and woke not to stiff and aches & pains after all that .

        Plant
        how are you today?

        Nanto
Its nice to have lunch out isn’t it and you know your a good host when people don’t want to go home 😁

Been to Aldi and M&S this morning we didn’t need much just stuff like tomatoes and the like.

B went to see his man on his own last night , she was so much better.
The sister asked to have a word with him before he left.

They are transferring her to a convalescent home in the next week as they said medically she no longer needs to be in hospital ,
There are two quite close to us so that would be handy,
The sister said they would work with her to get more mobile and more independent,

She had took on board what our DD had told her and was moving more , my DD told her to bend her knees and rotate her ankles every hour and to give herself a goal of getting out of bed by Yesterday and she did.
Wont listen to us but will listen to Our DD as she trusts her .

Oma, once my dad moved from the hospital to the much smaller convalescent unit( for the same reasons as your MIL) things were so much better in every way.
Good for your DD, at least there is someone your MIL listens to

            Good Thursday morning, everyone.

Oma, good to hear that your MIL listens to your DD, and the move to a smaller more appropriate place will help, too. If it's nearer to you it will make visiting easier for you.

Gem, enjoy your family day shopping and having a picnic. I hope it's nice and sunny.

Nanto, as Oma says, it's a sign of a good host when guests don't want to go home. Glad you had a lovely day. I like the idea of crisping baby potatoes up in the air fryer.

Plant, wondering how you are today.

Also wondering how Sum1 is. The warmer weather this last couple of days must make her feel more uncomfortable. If you're reading this Sum1, we're thinking of you. xx

I slept well last night! But I was so pleased we had finally started to get the back garden sorted. There's still lots to do, and in the front garden as well, but baby steps are still steps.

No change here, I have switched back to paracetamol. It took me ages to get into bed, the pain kept going into spasms. I am waiting for the result of my urine test.

Plant, sorry you aren't feeling any better.

Nice morning here, well it was,its afternoon now.
Washed a load of lights ,i bet its dry now.

Oma, pleased MIL is doing as your DD told her.

Shopping arrived early,so everything was put away before 9.

It's been a nice day here as well, but went a bit chilly around sunset.

We got some more gardening done (well OH mostly, digging up some large shrubs). I altered a t-shirt I'd bought as it was just a bit too long. The stitching isn't great but if fits better. I found it hard to machine sew with a jersey-knit fabric, and didn't know whether to use a zig-zag or straight stitch. Any advice from all the experienced sewers would be very welcome, please.

I've treated Eva to a new harness and lead - in day-glow yellow, ready for the dark nights. It dawned on me today when I was walking her and Bailey together that she is still impulsive and at times stubborn!

Good morning. Looks like it will be a nice morning.

No plans for us apart from hubby being out for a couple of hours this morning.

Daisy, Eva will look very smart with her day-glow yellow harness and lead.

Plant, hope you are feeling a bit better today.

Dinner is a corned beef, beans and mash pie. I took it out of the freezer yesterday. Just needs to go in the air fryer.

                      Morning Nanto/ Ladies

Dentist for me this morning and pick up some new cushions for the sofa I ordered from Habitat in Sainsburys,
You have to collect them from Argos apparently.

                      Hospital tonight ,
Martin went in yesterday she was out of bed and dressed and sitting in her chair , he said she was bright and chatty.

Ive just vacuum bagged a huge haul of Blackberries my neighbour brought over last night.
He brings me them every year but this year it’s a bumper crop.
I let them soak in water and changed it 3 times then let them drain in two large colanders overnight .
They are now in the freezer , they will last us a good year at least .

                      Daisy
When I used to make clothes many moons ago I had a function on my sewing machine for the likes of t-shirts etc
But I think a loose zig zag would be better if you don’t have that , the secrets to try not stretch the fabric.

I took up some PJ bottoms the other day , took me ages to thread the needle on my sewing machine , what with my wobbly hands and even with my glasses on I couldn’t see the needle .
I almost gave up when I got it threaded .😁
Eva isn’t going to change now is she , you can forgive her stubborn streak she’s too cute to be annoyed at 😁

I spoke to Sum1 last week she still has 5 weeks of the contraption and she’s still whispering her voice isn’t good , I think it’s the neck brace causing it .
Shes counting down the weeks poor thing , she’s a tougher lady than me 😁

                      Plant
How are you today did you get any sleep ?

                      Nanto
Enjoy your few hours alone 😁

Did you have a good day with the DDs , how did shoe shopping go, are these shoes for going back to school?

                        Good morning!

                        Nice morning here too Nan2.

As a non sewer, no advice from me Daisy I'm afraid!

                        How are you Plant?

We had a lovely day yesterday. I don't know what delighted GS3 more, 2 bus rides in and out of town or being with his favourite cousin 'Bomble'
When DD3 and I came back here GS wouldn't allow his mummy to take him up for his afternoon nap! At Grandma's house he obviously thinks it is Grandma's job

A busy day here. I have a committee meeting this morning then OH, GS2 and I are going to an animal park. It is attached to a local agricultural and animal studies college. The animal area is only open to the public at weekends and during school holidays, when students are not using it.
A friend who has taken her GC recommended it and GS2 has already been with his family and loves it.

Good morning everyone, sunny and warm again, even the sun lovers have had enough of the high temperature .

I am going to the botanical gardens in Delft, I have got a Rotterdam card, with it we can visit museums, gardens etc etc, even the zoo and the mini world in Den Haag. I had one each year before the lock down but never bothered again, GD2 was telling me they all have one but no one will go to the zoo with her, so, I remembered how many things we can do with it and ordered one.

Daisy, I am with Oma, hems on jersey are difficult, even with the special stitches I find you have to be careful, certainly not stretch the material as you sew, straight or short zig zag I would say.

Oma, I have a freezer full of blackberries, plus all the jam I made,.

It sounds as though your Mil is improving, I do wonder how it is with Plant.

I ordered some jeans for GD1 the other day, 38inch inside leg, I took them yesterday afternoon, lo and behold, a perfect fit and actually long enough for her. She was delighted.

I will get on my bike to Delft, it is this side of Delft, WG, the TU district.

                            Oma, our posts crossed!
GS2 got new school shoes and 2 school sweatshirts. They bought those before GD and GS3 and I arrived. DD3 was stuck in a lot of traffic coming to me so we arrived in town later than planned, so DD2 did the shopping first. GS3 will have his feet measured another day! We had picnic and explore in the parks in town.

Good Friday morning, everyone. We're promised another sunny day - great for getting on with the garden.

Nanto, I bet you will get all sorts done while hubby is out! I know your OH is very practical, like mine, and it's so useful that they can do most of the DIY jobs around the house, but I often find myself "holding the other end", fetching and carrying, answering the door and phone, taking messages, and of course regular offerings of tea. It's hard to get anything else done sometimes, bless them.

Oma, I'm pleased to hear your MIL is making progress. She's a strong lady and it sounds as though she's now determined to get better.

My new sewing machine has got a needle treader on it. I confess I haven't used it yet as I haven't needed to change the thread, but GD1 found it very easy to do. There's a wide choice of stitches, but I need to experiment. I tried not to stretch the fabric but I hadn't allowed for the slightly flared shape of the t-shirt! I'm not a natural sewer!!

Everyone seems to be well supplied with blackberries, but ours are very few and far between so far. I must go and actually look for some for the freezer.

Lizzie, that sounds like a wonderful day out in Delft, and it will be fun going to the zoo with GD2. I bet GD1 was delighted to get jeans that actually fitted her. It's always hard for very tall or very short people to get the perfect fit for jeans.

Gem, you're having a lovely week with your GCs - making the most of the last week of the school holidays. Little GS3 certainly knows his own mind, and it's clearly your job to take him for his nap in your house. He's such a cutie. Hopefully the committee meeting won't take too long and you can have the rest of the day at the College animal park. It looks really interesting and I bet it will be hard to drag GS2 away!

It's time to get cracking on the garden again! It's very satisfying to feel we're catching up with all the recent neglect.

Daisy, we are not well supplied with blackberries! We are very well supplied with apples from our tree, if only I lived close to any of the ladies with blackberries we could do a deal
