    Morning everyone

Daisy it was Nanto having lamb 😁

    Nanto
    Enjoy your Lamb meal 😁

    Gem
Maybe a day in is a good think for GS after his holiday he may not feel like doing anything ,

    Daisy
That man seems like he’s all out to get his own way and just being awkward.
Hope he gets put in his place .

I did write about MIL last night but forgot to press post reply πŸ™„

My DD went in to see her last night , said she was more awake and they had tried standing her up but it was too painful so trying again today.

As DD works in this field she broached the subject of maybe thinking about assistant living and moving out of that house ,
MIL didn’t shoot her down in flames she said she will think about it , so there is hope .
She will listen to my DD , she even told my DD she loved her , never says that to anyone ,
My DD said she almost fainted and needed a bed to recover from the shock 🀣🀣

Oma, although hips are easier than knees I'm sure it must be very painful. It's hard for independent people like her to move out , but it's probably the only way now.

Oma, perhaps these falls have made her think she cannot live on her own. I hope they don’t discharge her too soon. I hope she listens to your DD

I have turned the fruit in the freezer into two pies, one has gone next door and I am going to deliver the other one to my GS1’s family. I also need some plants to replace the ones in the pots, they died from the heat whilst I was away. No fruit this year, the squirrels had it all.

Daisy, Don’t let the summer slip by without managing another holiday, would you like coastal, country or town. Yorkshire was our favourite. What are your OH’s plans for the kit car now it is finished. Are you going driving around the forest, is it open top?

Nanto, enjoy your lamb, will you slow cook it? At least your OH only brought home a file

Gemini, enjoy your aqua. GS3 will probably enjoy a quiet day.

Lizzie, holidays over for family or will they be planning more.

Good Monday morning, everyone. It's dull here but quite warm.

Sorry Oma and Nanto, confusing who was having lamb. I'm still struggling a bit to keep up after missing so much! And I have this brilliant mental picture of Oma sneakily hiding the liver under the mashed potato without B seeing. I think it's so funny, and the image won't go away! .

Oma, assisted living might be a good option for your MIL when she's out of hospital. She would have someone on call but still have some independence, which I'm sure she values. How lovely that she told your DD she loves her. I hope she's had a comfortable night, but I'm sure they will work hard to get her out of bed today.

Gem, I'm sure GS2 will have a lovely morning with S and she'll get to hear all about his holiday. Perhaps a little outing this afternoon and an early night would work after all the excitement of his holiday. Where did they go? My DIL2 said both GDs were shattered when they got back from our caravan holiday.

Plant, a quiet gentle cat would be great company for you, and I'm sure there would be the perfect match for you in one of the rescue centres. Do they do fosters with cats? I know a lot of dog rescues depend on them especially when they are so hard pressed. Quite often the foster relationship fails because the fosterer has fallen in love with the dog and keeps it!

We overslept this morning, so only just getting going, but we are definitely planning another holiday for September. We're torn between wanting to go north (although possibly not as far as Yorkshire) and possibly taking two weeks. We've never had that long a trip, but it would give us more time to relax and recover a bit from the last few months. As for today, no plans, but lots of jobs to choose from! I'd better get cracking.

Daisy I think two weeks is a very good idea. You need some proper relaxing time, both of you.
Cats are fostered too , and it's called a foster fail when the fosterer keeps a cat
DD2 and family went to Greece with their good friends from St Alban's, also briefly meeting up with SIL's sister and niece who live there. It did them good.

It's very dull here. GS2 seems happy with screens and drawing at present. He's coming to the library with me tomorrow morning, along with GS1.

Daisy, i did do the lamb in the slow cooker.

Oma, maybe assisted living is the way forward for MIL.

Temperatures have certainly dropped today. When we had dinner earlier,we needed the light on.
                Brightened up a bit now.

Hallo everyone, it is cooler today, at last!

I am busy painting plant pots, if they turn out as I hope I will be boring you all with a photo!

Plant, DS1 just phoned, he is on his way to the UK for a 10 day work trip, Yorkshire then a weekend free in Durham and a visit to Beamish, on to Edinburg and Aberdeen to finish the work, Dil doesn't mind he said. Otherwise he would be home on Friday evening late then fly to Scotland on the Monday, now he has a mini holiday!!!!

You asked about holidays planned, of course, York etc in October, Spain next May and they are looking for a cottage in Devon for in the summer, they do like their holidays!!!

Oma, I do hope that they manage to get MIL settled, one way or the other.

                    I forgot to post this

                        Beautiful Lizzie!

Very wet here now and I have added a cardigan and socks to my outfit!
We got a towel wash dry and OH got some of the hedge cut, all before the rain came.

We've spent the morning planning and booking our holiday. We're going up north, to Chester area (not far from where our dear Glamm lived) for two weeks - 7th to 21st September. We looked at two sites - one on the edge of the Peak District didn't work with the dates we wanted, so we're returning to the Chester one. Thank you Gem and Plant for encouraging me to get on with it. We also booked a couple of days out with OH's pensioners' club - a day's mystery tour round the Isle of Wight and the other a visit to the Weald and Downland Living Museum where The Repair Shop programme is filmed.

I did some online shopping after lunch, and apart from cooking dinner that was it.

It went chilly here during the day, and when I took Eva out about 4.30 I put a thin fleece on. It started to drizzle with rain just as I got back home. Nanto, I really noticed how the nights are creeping in tonight!

Lizzie, I love those pots - the shape is gorgeous and the colours work so well. I'm sure DS1 will appreciate having a mini break over that week-end. Being away on business can be very tiring, and if he'd gone home he would have had very little time there.

Nanto, I bet that lamb was delicious. Has your OH used that essential file yet?

Gem, I'd be a useless dog fosterer - I'd want to fail every time! . You will have your own little reading group at the library tomorrow with both GS1 and GS2 along with you. I bet they will enjoy being there together. I just hope you're not getting too tired with all the days and sleepovers.

Good morning. Looks a bit better than yesterday weather wise.
Yesterday was cold, dark and windy.

Daisy, glad you've got the holiday sorted, and the days out sound good.
.Hubby hasn't used the essential file yet, but he assures me he will be at sometime.

I've got a couple of hours to myself later, so I think I'll change the bedding and clean upstairs.

Dinner will be baby potatoes, sausage, onion rings and veg and gravy.

How are you doing , did you get new plants you were looking for .

We are looking for a new letterbox and new front door handle , we are having our existing front door sprayed a different colour
Just waiting for the spray people to bring the colour chart

So I’m being dragged around DIY and door shops today I think .

Our turn for Hospital visit tonight .

                                Good morning everyone.

Daisy, I am so glad you have that holiday booked and other plans

We had sausages last night Nan2 as it's GS2's favourite.

Oma, have fun at the DIY shops! I hope MIL is getting on OK when you see her.

Now GS2 is 8 sleepovers are easier as he comes downstairs when he wakes rather than wake us.
We've all had breakfast, OH is leaving for golf soon, we will go to the library for 10.
DD tells me GS1 now doesn't want to come to the library! I can't let them down at such short notice, and GS2 is looking forward to it. If DD can't persuade him he will come to me after my shift.
