Good morning everyone and Happy Friday.

Sunny here and a good forecast. A bit breezy though.

Oma, your MIL is a wonder woman like my mum was! Maybe being stroppy keeps them going I hope Storm's leg is better soon.

Daisy, have you any more holidays planned? I suppose as you have been away from home a fair bit this summer you want to be home based for while, but I hope you get away again!

Plant I have heard good reports on the Cook meals too.

Nan2, I agree with you. Next time you go should out for your meal anyway when it's planned, and if your friends join you fine, and if not you will still have a nice time.

Today I am meeting a friend for lunch She is a mutual friend of Lizzie's and mine. We generally meet twice a year now. We both love cocktails so we go into town by bus and have one with our lunch

MIL is coming home , Martin was in when Dr came around and said she was free to go home .
They are waiting for occupational therapist to bring a walking frame and her meds .
In the meantime B rang the council at 3.30pm to see about getting the medi care alarm in.
The person he spoke to said she would put it down as an emergency and they would ring him when they are installing it. Maybe a couple of days.

Just on 4pm they rang to say they were on their way so B has had to dash to his mams to be there for them.
Talk about fast service less than 30 minutes 😁

Wow that is fast Oma. I hope she settles back OK and does well.

I had a nice lunch and nicer cocktail My friend had two but she's still working. My budget wont run to two at over £10 each!

Well MIL came home , They settled her in and Brian & Martin left ,
Had not been gone 15 minutes when she rang his sister to say she had fallen again and hurt her hip, so now waiting for a ambulance again

She had the medi alarm around her neck but didn’t press it she rang his sister instead so that was a waste of time .
You couldn’t make it up 🙄

Oh dear it sounds as though they sent her home too soon as she lives alone.

Lizzie, pleased to hear you enjoyed your little holiday and look forward to hearing all about it. It's amazing how the washing mounts up when you' re away.

Oma, I always thought the OT was supposed to assess both the patient and the living situation before the patient returned home. They would pick up on things like trip hazards. Was she using the walking frame? I hope she is ok and hasn't broken any bones.

Gem, cocktails are very expensive and I'm sure you enjoyed every last drop of yours. What did you have? Was your lunch nice?

We've had a warm sunny day with a bit of a breeze so the washing has dried well. I even did a bit of ironing! We went and collected the kit car at lunch time. It took ages because the car parked across the exit to the workshop wouldn't start, and it had to be moved so OH could get the kit car out. It was a very swish Aston Martin as well. So OH took the kit car for a run round to charge up the battery a bit and I went home in my own car and got lunch. One of the friends who has been helping to build the car came round and he and OH spent some time doing bits and pieces on it - tinkering, I'm sure. The other two "helpers" are on holiday.

Good morning. Oma, what a worry for everyone with your MIL falling, I agree with Daisy about the OT, it is all different here but works out the same, everything has to be checked.

The car sounds very smart Daisy, I bet OH and his friends are very proud of what they have achieved.

GD2 and myself managed to get a lot done in the heat of the week!!! We cycled a lot, she was using the Ebike of the owner of the apartment, she loved it!!! One day we did 65 kms! On Wednesday we went on the bus to Den Bosch, visited the cathedral, very impressive, it was warm in the town, not my thing really but I enjoyed it, we had lunch before getting the bus back to the village we were staying at. Thursday we did some cycling, yet again, then went to the recreation lake where I had booked at a climbing park for her, 12 meters high!!! She really enjoys that and is very good at it, I sat and watched from the beach and a lovely young man was sat in the playground keeping an eye on his 5 year old daughter, we had such an interesting discussion! It was so interesting he left once and returned to carry on chatting, such a friendly young man, he was still chatting when GD2 came to say she had done all she could as her hands were sore, she had been climbing well over 2 hours. I did get some photo's, according to GD2 I missed the best ones whilst chatting, she was overhead, it was difficult seeing which one was her as there were quite a few with white helmets on!!!

DS1 and DIL enjoyed their stay in Groningen, I thought it was a B&B but it is a hotel in an old water tower, very impressive!

GD1 is loving Dubrovnik, they will be home on Monday.

                      Good morning.

                      Oma, hope MIL is okay.
That was quick at getting the medi alarm.

Lizzie, glad you enjoyed your holiday.

                      Lizzie, love the water tower.

Gem, cocktails sound nice, pricey though at over £10.

Daisy, glad OH got the kit car back.

We are going into town today, I need a few bits.

Nanto, there are 2 water towers close to our village, not in use, which is such a shame, there have been talks over the years for restaurants, apartments etc but nothing happened, DS1 said this was done to perfection.

                          Morning ladies.

Lizzie brave young lady I couldn’t do it even when young I’m no good with heights.

                          Well another sleepless night ,
MIL has broken her hip they will operate within 48 hours but warned she’s so frail now she might not make it.
Even if she does she can’t live alone now .
That will be a drama as she’s adamant she won’t go in a home .

Us and Martin going in tonight and his sister is going in this afternoon , not sure about the rest.

Aparently she wouldn’t wait for the assessment and threatened to sign herself out once the Dr said she was able to go home .

                          We all shattered this morning.

                            Good morning everyone.

Oma, same system here, no one, especially living alone and at that age home from hospital without it all being checked out for suitability. It's for their own safety as MIL now knows unfortunately.
I suspected she had broken her hip , that's what happened to my mum. Mine was extremely frail and not really expected to survive , but lived another 3 years.

Lizzie, great pics. I'm glad you enjoyed the holiday.

Nan2, yes very pricey cocktails. It's a once in a while treat, and I can't bring myself to buy two!

                            No plans today so far.

Good Saturday morning, everyone. A nice sunny day here and I'm going to do some gardening once I've got washing out on the line.

Oma, oh dear, I was also worried your MIL might have broken her hip. I hope the op goes smoothly and despite being frail she will be ok. It must be hard to accept when you reach the stage of being unable to manage on your own, but I remember the worries Gem had before her Mum moved into the nursing home. You only want the best for them, but they don't always see it the same way.

Lizzie, your GD is very adventurous climbing those ropes. You packed a lot of interesting outings into a short time, and I'm sure you were glad of a bit of a rest when you got back. What a lovely photo of her.

                              Gem, enjoy your relaxing day.

Nanto, I hope your shopping goes well.
