We might be going for a pub meal today, it depends on the other couple. We did say if they can't make it today, we will wait until they can go.

Hubby out for a couple of hours, so I'll get my jobs done then.

If we eat at home, it will be jacket potatoes. We have some coleslaw that needs using up.

Must get my Asda order finished today.

we went for Baking potatoes yesterday they were not very nice , we ended up with a smallgammon joint from M&S with new potatoes and asparagus,

MIL was so much brighter yesterday, she has agreed to all adaptions and help , no arguments .
She said my DD had had a good chat about them all and the nurses had spoke to her so if she wants to get home she has to be sensible about it.

Not much on today just go with the flow.
We taking GS& Lucie out for a meal tonight . No hospital visit Martin going in .

Oma, pleased to hear MIL is agreeing to some support, it must have frightened her. Family probably got home about 2am, haven’t seen them yet.

Gemini, We are a family who likes sport and the Olympics has been very enjoyable for us but it doesn’t suit everyone. Nevertheless I am pleased to be back to normal watching. I hope that little pussy settles soon. It must be frightening to leave its brothers and sisters. I have a coffee morning with my National Trust Group but I am going to give that a miss as I have a BBQ to go to this evening, shame they fall on the same day. Shame they fall on the same day.

It was so so hot yesterday, I managed to get some watering done, the plants were looking a bit sick. GD1 did my housework then changed the beds they had used next door and left it clean and tidy for the returning family. I am sure they will be pleased to get back to normal, whatever normal is for them.

Plant the cat had been found living outside alone. She has been fostered via the Cat's Protection League for a few weeks in one room. They are keeping her in one room at DD's now until she gets more used to it. She hides all the time and hasn't really eaten. I have read this isn't unusual. I have advised GS to just give her some space this morning. We will look in on her later.

Hallo everyone, tropical heat is all I can say😢

Gd2 and myself have managed a few bike rides, a very long 50km one this morning through the woods, she did inform me that she was only doing this as I am special 🥰. She said if anyone else had suggested it she would have said “NO WAY”! I told her the same applies to me going into town
with her tomorrow 😉. At least the forecast is cooler tomorrow, not the 30+ we have now,. Just received message and photos from GD1, they are really enjoying themselves.

I hope the cat settles with DD 1 Gem, when the neighbours cat sneaked into my house last year, that is what it did , hid!

Friends couldn't make it today for the pub. We could have gone on our own,but hubby started doing something.
Oma, our baking potatoes were massive,so we shared one,then finished off with rhubarb pie and custard.

Had rain overnight, but I don't think it was heavy.

I want to make some non pastry pies today. Corned beef and onions with beans on top, covered with mash. Hope to make 3, one for today and two for the freezer.

It has rained overnight here too.

Aqua for me this morning and lunch out with a friend later. She doesn't have a car so she is getting the bus into town and I will pick her up there, as where we are going is difficult by public transport.
OH is going away for a 2 day golf thing. I will eat my main meal for lunch so no cooking tonight

News from the DD1 household, cat is out of hiding and friendly. GS will be delighted!

Been to Aldi for a few things didn’t need much cupboards fridge & freezer full.
B fancies Liver and bacon for tea so we bought that .

Meal out last night was delicious , DD, SIL GS and Lucie came , we had such a good time ,
went to a Indians we have been to many times .
Its been run by the same family for over 40 years we remember the father when he was a young man ,
He now sits in reception watching over everything , such a lovely funny man ,
He said to SIL if you can’t pay we have loads of dishes to wash 🤣

Bit overcast this morning. I am going to a Teddy Bears Picnic this afternoon, we have to take a teddy. This activity is being run by two of our Guiders, they never grow up. I am being taken by my friend who lost her OH recently. We were all together last evening for a BBQ.

Oma, I am still not feeling any more energetic. Although, very enjoyable, I think the holiday took a lot out of me. My DD doesn’t want me to be on my own when they are away, I don’t relax if GD1, her OH and H are here looking after me. I hope your MIL is feeling stronger. Sounds like a lovely family meal out.

Gemini, you have a lovely relationship with your GS1. I hope he is a bit happier. Pleased to hear the kitten has accepted their new home.

I buy the Princess lean corned beef, its a bit dearer, but worth it,i think.
