Teddy bears picnic, how lovely Plant I used to organise one each summer as a playgroup leader.

Oma, my OH would enjoy the liver and bacon.

I had my aqua class, followed by coffee with 2 of my friends, then a dash home to shower, change and collect my friend. We had a lovely lunch, the restaurant is on the river.
It's been very hot, I hope OH has coped on the golf course! They have second day of golf tomorrow, home tomorrow evening.

Good morning. We had a beautiful sunrise this morning.

Not sure if anything is happening today. If we don't eat out, it will be fish and chips from the freezer.

Asda shopping coming between 9 and 10.

Good morning Nan2 and everyone else.

It seems a bit cooler so far, not sure what the forecast is today.

GS3 day today and a Morrison's shopping order coming this afternoon . I prefer Tesco or Sainsburys but this was the only delivery I could get today as I only booked it yesterday.

        Have a good day ladies.

          Good Thursday morning, everyone.

We got home yesterday afternoon after a lovely week in the caravan with our GDs. I'll write a bit about it separately - in between doing mounds and mounds of washing!

I have missed you all, but we had no wifi/internet connection, no TV, nothing. The world could have stopped turning and we wouldn't have heard about it - luckily that didn't happen though. Even on outings around the area there was no signal. My phone which is on its last legs anyway sprung into life with 250 emails, 104 WhatsAp messages and even the weather forecast as soon as I stood on our doorstep.

I'm off to read some of the other threads now - but lovely to be back. xx

            Morning everyone

A wet and dark day here very miserable.

            Daisy
Welcome home , I have visions of your phone pinging like crazy when you stepped through the door 😁
Pleased you had a nice time and no distractions.

            Gem
you have to go for the one that can deliver the quickest don’t you.
Mind you I don’t find Morrisons cheap these days but I suppose it’s what your looking for isn’t it.
Enjoy your day with E today xx

            Nanto
Hope you get your meal out 😁

We had liver and bacon with mash last night. I am not a great lover, I ate a little and shoved the rest around my plate.
Hid some under the mash so B thought I had eaten more , he always puts too much mash on and I’m only allowed a small amount so if I hide the liver under it he just thinks I’ve had my portion of potato and left the rest .

He won’t make it just for himself so I go along with it so he can have some.
Im a good wifey me 😁

Oma, we ate at a lovely restaurant on our last evening on holiday, and I chose liver and bacon. It was delicious!

I hope the weather improved for you. It ok here (at the moment)

Nanto, I hope your shopping arrives ok, but going out for a meal sounds lovely.

Gem, enjoy your day with GS3. I hope Morrisons come up trumps with your order.

I haven't read back on this thread yet, but will pop back later. Jut off to hang out the next load of washing!

Daisy, welcome back, we have missed you! Looking forward to hearing about your holiday - once you escape the laundry mountain

Oma, I think it is the specific deals for Clubcard and Nectar card holders which make all the difference. Plus collecting the points. Morrison's is OK in a situation like this. I intended to shop yesterday, but it was very hot and I couldn't be bothered after the long lazy lunch with my friend. Morrison's saved the day by being able to deliver today.

Still a bit chilly here. GS and I staying inside for now!

I haven’t eaten liver since my OH died, he liked it but only lambs liver.I have a delivery from a company called COOK coming this afternoon. I like these meals on days I don’t feel like cooking, they are very good.

Daisy, so pleased youhad a good caravan holiday, takes me back to our caravan holidays. Shame about the washing.

Oma, do you honestly think B doesn’t know your little trick of hiding liver under mash potatoes.

Nanto, I hope you get your meal out.

There must have been about 50 or more Teddies at the Teddy Bears Picnic yesterday. These belonged to retired guiders and present acting Guiders. Lots of silly table games to play, lovely food (sandwiches from M&S) finishing with camp fire songs.

B probably knows what I’m doing but I try to clear my plate into the bin before he does 😁

We didn't get out for a meal. Didn't hear anything from the other couple.
I told hubby, if we want to go out to eat,in future i aint waiting for other people.

Todays meal of fish and chips from the freezer, somehow turned into a salad with southern fried goujons.
We will have the homemade fish and chips tomorrow.

We've got that yellowy glow again, that makes it look like there will be a storm.

Plant, sounds like it was a lovely day out.

Been in to see MIL , she has made a remarkable recovery,
Back to her loud bossy self , eating like a horse and up on her feet.
Shes doing so well she may be out tomorrow.

Her colouring is so much better.
The Occupational therapist has been in they are arranging a walking frame and alarm bracelet and a home visit , when she gets home.

The hospital she is in is a small cottage hospital and so much better than our big hospital in Sunderland ,
these seem to be better with the elderly .
MIL said nothing has been a trouble for them

Its belting down with rain now , don’t need to water the garden that’s for sure

Good morning. It's a brighter morning.

Oma, MIL sounds like she is doing well.
Wow, praise from her for the staff.

I'm hoping to get the grass cut this morning.
As for the rest of the day, we'll see how it pans out.

Homemade fish and chips for dinner. Well, the fish courtesy of Captain Bird's-eye.

                              Morning Nanto
hope you get your grass cut .
Its still a bit overcast here , no rain forecast but it’s chilly .

We have the dog today , won’t be taking him for a walk he has a sore leg.
DD had him out yesterday and he started limping she checked his paw as they had been in the woods but nothing there and he let her rub his paw so obviously his joints .
She had to ring B to go get them as he couldn’t walk home and he’s too big for DD to carry at 5-1/2 stone 😁

He doesn’t seem too bad today just slower getting up when he’s been laying down.

Good Friday morning, everyone. We have sunshine. Perhaps I shouldn't say that - tempting fate.

Oma, pleased to hear your MIL is doing so well - and nice to hear her praising the staff. Poor Storm. His leg must be painful. Is it arthritis? I can't imagine your dainty DD carrying him - no wonder she had to call her dad out.

Nanto, cutting grass seems a bit of a lottery with the weather. Good luck for today. I gave ours a light cut in the rain yesterday because it was like a jungle. Enjoy your fish and chips at home. We had battered fish fingers one day at the caravan and they were quite nice.

Plant, I'e heard a lot of people say COOK meals are very good. What did you have? Yes, we enjoy the caravan as well. You have to slow down and take your time, and we mostly eat out so very little cooking. Our van is over 20 years old but built like a tank and still very comfortable with all mod cons like central heating and double glazing. When it's hot we can open all the windows and pull the fly screens down for a bit of shade as well. The Teddy Bears' picnic sounds fun - although I'd have to borrow a teddy to attend!

OH "should" be collecting his kit car from the upholsterer's today! I'm driving him over to collect it after Sainsbury's have been. I'm not holding my breath though as the upholsterer is brilliant at upholstery but not so good on meeting the deadlines he sets himself.
