    Good Friday morning, everyone.

Nanto, I shall be thinking about jam sponge and custard all day! I haven't made one for ages - just a normal sponge in a pyrex bowl, plenty of jam, and 5 minutes in the microwave. It doesn't keep so you need to eat it all up - not usually a great hardship.

Gem, I don't know about me being busy - you've got a full day ahead. I hope the AGM goes ok. Enjoy your GS2's Easter service. Do they break up today? Both our GDs break up next Thursday. Enjoy you evening out. I hope you've got a lazy day tomorrow.

We're off out soon. I'm looking forward to seeing the hawk flying displays - they are amazing birds. I believe the Conservancy has eagles.

    Have a good day everyone.

Very windy and sunny here Oma!

DD just sent me a video , started to clean her fish tank out only to discover one of her fish has had babies 😁
So she has some in a bowl and is trying to clean it without disturbing the rest , before she puts these back 😁

                  My mouth is watering too.
Sorry I haven’t joined in much today, I am fine, I pad not behaving, fine now. Interruptions and out this afternoon to a National Trust group monthly meeting. I have cleaned out a lot of photos, I gather they take up a lot of storage.

Well , we've been busy this past week so forgive me for AWOL

Last Sunday we went to my x BIL's 80th birthday party. Well I say party, it was a gathering of family and friends in the local village community hall for drinks and sandwiches
It was lovely to see BIL , his wife, who sadly isn't in the best of health, BIL's sister and her daughter and my two nieces and their collective families which consists of 5 great nieces, 2 great nephews , 5 great ,great nieces and one great, great nephew.
                    It was a lovely afternoon

On the invitation it said bring a bottle and a plate, so I pre ordered cup cakes from Sainsbury's (no longer make my own cakes as I don't even have a mixing bowl anymore)
We went and collected them on Saturday.... the exact day that Sainsbury's was in utter chaos as they had no way of completing online orders, accepting card payments etc but thankfully a lovely assistant was able to grab me the last two packs of cupcakes in the store.

Yesterday our planned gardening project was started by our DS 's friend who has done several gardening jobs for us in the past. So far he has taken up the old lawn edging, dug a small ditch and lined it with fine gravel ready for paving slabs to go on. Also we are having a line of slabs up to the rotary washing line.
The slabs and new matching lawn edging are at the moment stacked in the garden .
As this work is being fitted in with his actual gardening business of his own he is fitting us in when he can and
he hopes to come back next week to finish it.

Oma , DS used to have an aquarium and some of the fish had babies and it was such battle to protect the fish eggs from being eaten by the other fish . He had to remove the eggs and put in a separate aquarium.
                    It was such a kerfuffle
He how has a fish pond in the garden, much easier to keep with the added bonus that their dog chases away any cats that dare to come anywhere near it
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Mimi she’s been to pets at home and bought a nursery to put in the tank so they are safe now 😁

Hope the weather keeps fine so you can get the garden finished ,
you were lucky to get the cup cakes x

Oh dear, now I don't know whether I am drooling for a jam sponge or a treacle sponge.

Oma, Those baby fish were lucky your DD spotted them. Hopefully they will thrive in their protected nursery. Did Storm enjoy his dinner? (Silly question of the year!)

Mimi, you certainly have had an action-packed week. But how lovely to see so many of your extended family and so many generations. That's quite special. You were lucky to still get your cupcakes with all the chaos in Sainsburys last Saturday. It's a bit of an upheaval getting a garden project completed, but your sounds well worth doing and will make it easier to get round the garden in bad weather, and hang the washing out!

Gem, I bet the grand children are happy to be on holiday now. At least our GDs only have a 4 day week next week!

I'll write about our day out tomorrow, but it was excellent, apart from the weather!

Poor GD2 was due to have her best friend round after school today, but had to call it off because she was home with a sore throat. Her friend is off to India to see family for 3 weeks, and GD is going to miss her at school. Both GDs have karate gradings this week-end but it will be busy for them.

Eva gave us a good welcome when we went to collect her - and so did Cooper!

Good morning. Had rain during the night, but the sun is up now.

We are going into town today, meeting up with DS2.We will probably go and see DIL, but the cafe where she works gets very busy on a Saturday.

Mimi, what a busy time you have had.

It was lovely outside a few minutes ago, now the sky has gone very dark.

Good morning everyone and happy Saturday.

                            Nan2, beautiful roses.
I had a little posy of pink roses and gypsophilia like that when I was a bridesmaid. I remember it very well. I was only 4. I also remember not wanting to be a bridesmaid and chewing the handle of the basket the flowers in and them telling me to stop!!

Poor GD Daisy, missing seeing her friend before she goes away.

Mimi, at least Sainsbury's managed to provide your cupcakes during their chaotic spell!

We had a good time with our friends last night. All ten of us could make it which is rare.

OH has her golf committee AGM this morning. GS1 is here with me as his mum had a gym class at the unearthly hour of 8am! I have no plans for the day, but I do have to buy Easter eggs at some point in the next few days.
                            Nice sunny morning here

Good Saturday morning, everyone. It's sunny here as well, but very cold.

Nanto, flowery graphics always lift the spirits. Lovely. Enjoy your day out.

Gem, It must be rare that so many of you can get together - everyone is so busy these days. Enjoy your morning with GS1. I got the GCs Easter Eggs this morning.

It's a busy day for me, finishing off various chores round the house before family arrive on Monday.

Lovely sunny morning but it is very windy. No plans for today but I expect we shall see GD1 and H at some point. I didn’t see GGS1 on his birthday yesterday, perhaps they will pop in today. The walls in the sunroom feel very bare so I am going to look for some large posters. I have decided that I am not going to manage needlework projects, well no large ones again so a local craft/needlework group are coming next week to see what they would like to have. I shall be pleased to see things go to a good home.

Mimi, well done getting the cupcakes for the family gathering. The garden improvements sound better for you to get around.

Daisy, I expect Eva had a lovely time but always pleased to see you come to collect her.

Gemini, how nice that all your friends could make the meal.

Nanto, enjoy your time with DS. Love the rose posy.
