What a scrumptious baby Oma! They must be so happy to have him

Fish and chips is a great idea. I have made a chicken casserole to have with baked potatoes tonight. Definitely the weather for something warm

Oma, Isn't Finn just a total picture of scrummy baby. He's gorgeous, and I bet he was still playing with those wooden cars long after you'd gone home. Fish and chips sound a good idea for a miserable day.

Lizzie, I love to see olive trees growing in pots - I hope yours survive ok. It sounds as though you might have quite a long shopping list for the market in Rotterdam tomorrow.

Plant, how disappointing that you had to cut your holiday short, but it was the best thing to do. It's no fun being cold all the time. Are you taking a hot water bottle to bed with you tonight, or do you have an electric blanket?

Gem, it must feel really good to have a 'normal' night out with the quiz and a meal. Having a relaxing day today is a good idea, though. Making soup is quite enough work for one day. What kind did you make? I nearly forgot to ask - how did you get on in the quiz?

Nanto, how satisfying to get all your shopping done. Your freezer will be very full!

We've had a lot of rain again today, but have had some sunshine in between. The rain is winning though and our garden is more puddles than garden. There are still floods around the village but the roads are clear now, thank goodness. Yet again I got caught in a shower while I was walking Eva. I got the usual dirty looks from her as well!

Daisy do you have a good raincoat for all these wet walks?!

We weren't last in the quiz but weren't in the top 3 teams either!
I made sweet potato and red pepper soup. I also made 2 chicken casseroles, one for tonight one for the freezer, so that was a lot of cooking for me! I have to do it in stages as it's uncomfortable to stand for very long.

We have had rain during the night, but its dry at the moment.

            Oma, lovely photo of Finn.

Welcome home Plant. A pity you had to come home early, but not much fun being in a foreign country with no power. Hope your house has warmed up a bit now.

Going to sort the meat out for the freezer.
I won't need any more this side of Christmas. We got the Christmas meat last week from the farm shop.

Well done for getting the casseroles made. Always handy to have one in the freezer.

Pork chops, chips and peas for dinner. Will have a bit of apple sauce with it.

              Good morning everyone.

              We like pork chops Nan2.

              Are you warm now Plant?

Another terrible night for me. I spent most of it on the recliner sofa. OH suggests we go for a drive out today, which is probably a good idea

Gemini, so sorry you had a bad night, perhaps you should rest up today.

Oma, what a lovely pic of Finn, babies change so quickly.

I am lovely and warm now, I am still feeling tired and sleeping a lot, must be the stress not knowing what we should do and I think you use a lot of energy when you are trying to keep warm. I need to fill my food stocks today, fridge empty.

Glamm, lovely to hear from you, I hope you will soon be feeling stronger. Your family must have been worried about you.

Daisy, I hope you don’t get wet again today. Poor Eva not enjoyable walks for her.

Nanto, you are such a well organised person, fridge full and Christmas meat ordered.

Good Sunday morning, everyone. It's bright and sunny here, but there are flood warnings again around the village.

Nanto, your freezer is very well-stocked. You've got a good butcher so it's worth thinking ahead like that. Wouldn't a bit of Beach Fun be lovely amid all this wet, stormy weather!

Gem, you did well in the quiz - we're always happy if we achieve the dizzy heights of next to last! . The soup sounds delicious, and something I should try. I often end up with random vegetable soup! I'm so sorry you had another bad night. I think OH is right - go out for some fresh air. A drive to the coast would be great if it's not too stormy. You can't beat a couple of hours in the sea air.

Oma, poor Lucie. I hope she's ok. I'm sure you'll have a lovely time with GS1 though, and I bet he's got lots to tell you about Uni and what he's been doing.

Gem, I haven't got a good raincoat! I find it really difficult to choose coats (because basically I don't like wearing them) so I've got a collection of pretty useless jackets that are no more than shower proof at best!

No plans for today except to take Eva for a good long walk if it's dry enough.

Oma it's pain and not being able to get comfortable. No nights since my surgery have been good, but some are not bad and some are awful. It's easy to feel down and demoralised in the early hours with no sleep isn't it?

Plant I think you need to recharge your batteries.

Good morning, Daisy, try for a Jack Murphy raincoat, I got mine, new, on Ebay, they are really waterproof, I had mine on this morning, had a heavy shower walking back to the underground, no problem at all. I got all I wanted in the market, I am re-lining a fun fur fleece blanket for a friend, I got exactly what I had in mind. I walked back to the town along another road, which just happened to be closed, I carried on and asked a man the way, he was walking that way so we walked together, he told me he lives in an apartment in the centre, if he leaves his car parked in the area it costs €5 for one hour he takes it to the city boundary each morning and walks back, usually 25 minutes, then he goes later in the evening to pick it up again if he needs it, he can by a monthly pass, that would cost him €300 a month!

Oma, what a cute photo of Finn, they seem to grow so fast.XX About the olives, DS1 said some are edible but we haven't enough sun to ripen them.

Gem, I do hope that the pain soon eases and that you can get a good nights sleep.xxx Do you use a cushion between your knees during the night?

Plant, you would be pleased to be home again, I do hope you have warmed up now.

I want to get the blanket lined, but, first finish my skirt off.
