Daisy, I hear from friends that cataract ops are very quick here. I hope that is still the case as I have been warned that I will need one soon. Busy day for you getting the house Christmastised.

Gemini, take care this evening, walking that far in the dark. Pleased to hear DD3 and the baby are feeling better, it has been a nasty bug,. My DD is on antibiotics as she now has a chest infection due to the bug we had. I hope your sister is well.

Oma, have a nice lunch with your friends, I am sure they will love to see you all.

Very late rising today, no plans so just take what comes.

For those who watch Strictly, great result!

Had a lovely few hours with friends and DD , SIL .
We went to a nice garden centre in South Shields near where our friends live ,
Had beans on toast and I really enjoyed them ,
Storm of course got half my toast and nibbles from everyone else , he was so good ,
He just lays down the side of the table and goes to sleep ๐Ÿ˜

We decided to look around the garden centre Christmas shop while we were there , I came out with another light up ceramic Ginger bread house ๐Ÿ˜ฑ Iโ€™m the one who tells B heโ€™s over the top then I go and buy more decorations ๐Ÿ™„

It was packed as it was breakfast with Santa but they had that in the huge conservatory,
I must say he was one of the best dressed Santas although a bit thin but his beard was real ,
Proper old fashioned velvet suit and proper boots ๐Ÿ˜

Oma, gorgeous photo of your Great nephew's children. He does look the real-deal Santa! Glad you had a lovely time at the garden centre. Sometimes beans on toast are just what you need, aren't they! No comment on the ceramic Ginger bread house. I bet B will say 'are you building an estate of them'!!

Plant, yes, cataract operation waiting times do seem to vary. My BIL went to a private clinic that the NHS uses. His DD said it was a bit of a production line, but very efficient and his vision in that eye is now excellent. Your poor DD - I hope the antibiotics take effect quickly for her.

I agree about the Strictly result. Won't say anything in case anyone is watching it on catch up.

Plant don't worry I think we are going to drive tonight. I am happy with soft drinks so can drive home.

Gorgeous photo Oma, and Santa's suit is fabulous.

I also agree about Strictly but wont mention any names! OH and I both voted for the winner on our phones.

My sister was fine and it was nice to see her.
One of the friends came this afternoon, with her son (OH's godson) He has always been a lovely little boy and handsome. Now he is 16, 6 foot 6, and very handsome!!

Daisy, i do make my own pancakes and we only have 2 left in the freezer.
Will get some made this week.

Oma, he looks like a real santa. Lovely photos.

I made 2 fruit cakes today in the air fryer. They turned out good.
I've made lemon drizzle cakes in the air fryer, but never done fruit cakes.

Hallo everyone, it has been a nice day here for a change, actually got the washing dried outdoors.

Gem, the young man is tall for 16! My DS1 is that height, GD1 6ft. I was in the lift with neighbours GS and he is 6ft 6ins.

Oma, I had a stand for my iPad when the girls were here, what we have done with them I do not know! Lovely photo with the santa.

Those fruit cakes look great Nanto, I may give it a try this week.

One of the men from the circuit training has had both his eyes done, not at the same time, he can see so much better now.

I watched the final of Strictly and read one of the comments on Facebook, they said over the last years the couple that get the most comments on the night usually win, it was right as well.

I was doing some sewing this afternoon and the bulb went, I had no idea how to change it so had to get the manual out. I did have a spare though so could carry on with the sewing.

                  They look delicious.

I was wondering if you would be visiting your sister this week ,
Nice to see how these young men are growing isnโ€™t it .

                  Lizzie
I had to get my manual out when the bulb went in my sewing machine last year , it was easy but I just couldnโ€™t remember how it went in .
Glad you got it sorted and you were able to keep sewing ๐Ÿ˜

Had a nice afternoon with GS he seems to have grown up a lot since going to Uni , very mature and responsible .

Oma, isn't it amazing how teenagers suddenly grow up. But your J always seems sensible and level-headed.

Nanto, those fruit cakes look delicious. You do so well with both your slow cooker and your air fryer.

Gem, a busy day for you. Glad to hear your sister was fine. Gosh, that young man could still be growing at that age. I think people are getting taller. I'm sure you wouldn't feel like walking home after your night out, so better to go in the car.

Lizzie, how lucky you had a spare bulb for your sewing machine. Is your GD still growing?

We got the tree decorated. OH went out and cleaned out the gutters at the front which were full of leaves and moss, washed them and the soffits and then put the outside lights up. One section of them weren't working, but later on some colours came on but not others, so we need a wreath or something to fill the gap. I bought a garland for the mantlepiece and it was a two-person job to get it to stay there. It was too wide so OH had the bright idea of bending it up at the back so it lies against the wall and on the mantlepiece. I think it looks nice - OH was a bit scathing.

Tomorrow I've got an early start to go and collect the GDs for the day. It will be lovely to see them. We haven't made any plans - I'll leave it up to them.

Good Monday morning everyone. It's an early start for me, and I'm off to pick up both GDs in a bit. Still no plans about what we're going to do, but no doubt it will involve some cooking!

                      I'll pop back later.

Dinner will be mash, bacon and cabbage.

BIL from the bungalow came yesterday. He said the fruit cake was very nice, and hubby and me both liked it.

                          Good morning ladies.

I hope you have a lovely day with your GDs Daisy. They have obviously broken up for Christmas ? Ours have most of this week to go.

The fruit cakes do look delicious Nan2.

Oma, my massage lady was saying the same about her DD who started uni (in Birmingham) the same time as your GS. She has really matured.

Well we could hardly believe it. The golf course is OPEN today!! OH has to play a competition which has been postponed, then her usual one tomorrow.
I am meeting C (Of C and P) and a friend we both went to school with for lunch. We are not silly enough to want to go into town. They can both walk to this place and its easy parking for me.
I think someone asked how C was the other day and I haven't replied. She is suffering quite a bit with lymphodeoma on that breast and arm, but OK apart from that. P has an awful lot of knee problems though, if it's not one thing its another.

Lunch at the village hall today supplied by Village Care. Might start the decorations.

Nanto, those fruit cakes did look good and dinner sounds good.

I hope S has a good game Gem, she has waited long enough to get her clubs out.

Daisy, lovely day for you with GDโ€™s, I am sure they are excited to have you to themselves.

Oma, I am going to do my last minute shop tomorrow, will try and keep away after that.
