Good morning, whatever the lilies are they seem to only grow on the canal banks here. Now I know the trousers fit GD1 I can make them from the same pattern,

Daisy, I am cooking an Indonesian recept, fried rice etc etc served with fried eggs or omelette on the side, plus peanut sauce etc etc. Oh and kroepoek? (shrimp crisps?)

Enjoy the meal tonight at the friends Daisy. You too Oma eating out!

      Morning all

Oma that’s fantastic news about B , hopefully the nausea he is feeling at the moment soon improves.

Is everyone enjoying this lovely weather, hopefully it will be nice today as we are spending the afternoon/ evening with DS and DIL for a get together as it was OHs birthday yesterday and it’s DILs birthday on Monday

      Yesterday I was vey busy
Did two loads of washing, put away the groceries that had been delivered, watered the garden, potted up some sunflowers (dwarf) .
Ironed the new bedroom curtains and hung them up , put the old ones away to take to the charity shop later next week.
      Cooked lunch .
Vacuumed the sitting room and bedroom and cleaned the bathroom… I was in bed by half 9

Sadly two residents near us are not in the best of health.
The one lady was found unconscious on a bathroom floor and the other lady has several health problems and unfortunately both are still in hospital, makes you ’ realise that we should enjoy every day as much as possible

On that note I will wish you all a good weekend
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

B a lot better today , he asked at the hospital and they advised him to take it with his evening meal , means it’s not being taken on a empty stomach and if he feels sick he can go to bed 😊

        Daisy
I hope the car isn’t too expensive
Should have told J not to be tempted to buy anything today 😁
        Enjoy your meal out xx

        Lizzie
That meal sounds lovely , although I couldn’t eat anything with shell fish I still appreciate the idea and cooking that goes into it 😁

        Mimi
        How busy were you wow😁
I bet you flopped into bed last night like a landed fish 🤣🤣
enjoy your afternoon fingers crossed for good weather.

How sad about the two ladies , it makes you thankful that your not in that position doesn’t it.

B finished the second coat on the sleepers , waiting to see if it needs a third , it’s a small job so no great energy needed.

Oma, pleased to hear B is feeling a lot better today and what good news about his discharge from the hospital. Enjoy your lunch with GS and his GF.

Daisy, you were brave letting your OH off to a car boot, I wonder what he will come back with. Enjoy your lunch with friends.

Lizzie, as others have said your GD is very lucky having you to make her troucers. those yellow flowers are beautiful along the waterside.

Nanto, have an enjoyable trip to Pontefract. OH and I made a trip there years ago, he loved liquorice

Yesterday afternoon I had a lovely tea provided by a village group who provide several services for the elderly. Met lots of old friends and acquaintances.

All the family except one GS and his wife are going to Normandy on the 29th July. Apart from the house DD and Sil part own, we have booked another house nearby. .

            Good evening

A lovely sunny one here. DD and SIL are out at wedding with an outdoor setting. I'm so happy for the couple that the weather has been so good.

            How was Pontefract Nan2?

Daisy I hope it was a good meal for the birthday lady.

That sounded a good tea yesterday Plant.

Oma good to hear B s better. It's surprising what a difference there can sometimes be by changing the time you take a drug.
I hope tea out was good.

Mimi I quite agree, make the most of our time, and those we care about.

GD and GS2 all sorted out and GS1's guinea pigs fed.
OH's friend who she shares a case with came over this afternoon. Between the 4 ladies they take 2 cases and 2 golf bag so there is always some juggling to sort things out

The taxi comes at 5 am tomorrow, GS2 and I will not be up to wave them off !

              Oma and Daisy,enjoy your meals.

Hubby thought it seemed quiet in Pontefract, but i didn't.
              We enjoyed it anyway.

The sun came out eventually, and about an hour after we got home,2 nephews paid a visit.
We were able to sit outside all afternoon.

                Plant
Did you have tea in the village hall or go to a cafe? Afternoon tea is always a lovely treat.

July will come around quickly , are you going for a week or 2 xx

Greetings from somewhere in Turkey! I have completely lost all sense of direction, but I'm here and the hotel looks great and I'm looking forward to doing a bit of exploring tomorrow. I've never seen traffic like it was coming from the airport!

Legoland was exhausting. You could tell the effect all the disruption to their education by Covid had affected them. They wandered off, neither listening too nor following instructions from any of the adults! Last year's group kept close to the adult in charge of them, this year I never knew where mine were! We started off together, then they just migrated to their friends or stopped to have a look at something that had caught their attention! And to top it all, the AC wasn't working on the coach home so we all got off looking as if we'd just been in a sauna! However they all seemed to enjoy themselves and the weather was kind and there weren't horrendous waits for the rides, and nobody was sick on the coach,so I mustn't complain! Think I might give it a miss next year though!

Oma, there were certainly some sights going around Legoland yesterday. It was the number of obese young people eating doughnuts and huge icecreams that really caught my eye as well as the revealing outfits! MInd you there were also some sights at Heathrow this morning. I'm sure it cant be comfortable travelling in shorts that barely cover your bum...can it ?

Anyway ladies, it's been a long day, so I'm off to bed with the new Peter James book, I may fall asleep reading it! Hope that everyone enjoys the rest of the weekend xx

Good morning to those at home and away.

Nice bright morning washer has just finished so I'll get them hung out.

DS1 and GD2 coming for dinner. Doing a roast beef dinner, meat is in the slow cooker.

                    Have a good day ladies.

                      Hi in Turkey WG!

The sun is shining, I will get some washing in and on the line before we go out.

GS2 slept well, OH has just boarded the plane.
I will drive GS home later but have no other plans today.

                      Happy Sunday everyone.

I got the washing on the line as the forecast doesn't look so good for the rest of the week.

Slight change of plan. We are meeting DD and SIL at Costa for lunch ( of the toasted sandwich variety)They are taking GS to the Game Store for a Nintendo game, so it's pointless me taking him home as the store is much closer to us

Gem, safe journey to OH, and I hope she has a great time. Even a toasted sandwich lunch is good. I bet GS will be very excited about his new game. I hope your washing dries ok. It looks cloudy here, but there's no rain forecast for today, so I hope it brightens up.

WeeGranny, glad you've arrived safely. Have a wonderful time in Turkey. The Legoland trip sounds "interesting", but it's a good trip when you don't loose anyone, nobody is sick on the coach and they all seem to have enjoyed it! Despite the coach 'sauna' it was a very successful day. When I see "sights" at an airport it makes me remember the days when you dressed up to travel, especially by air. I had a friend who as soon as she'd saved enough she'd go off for a week in the sun somewhere, and she always wore a smart suit and a big glamorous hat. She often got upgraded.

Nanto, it's funny how sometimes a place is very busy, then another time almost empty. The main thing is you enjoyed the trip out. I bet your roast smells delicious already. I hope it's nice enough to sit in the garden afterwards.

Oma, pleased to hear B is feeling better. I'm sure GS and Lucie both enjoyed their meal out with you as well. Not sure whether OH bought anything at the car jumble or not - he also went to B&Q. He got a bit more of the patio done yesterday afternoon, but there's still a lot to prepare before they even start regrouting. We've just moved the garden furniture to another part of the lawn - in 4 days the lawn is already going yellow under the furniture. A neighbour is giving him a hand when he can.

Plant, how lovely it will be to have most of the family together in Normandy. You must be looking forward to it so much. Your village group sounds very sociable.

Lizzie, that meal sounds totally delicious, but rather complicated to prepare. Is a recipe you use regularly?

We had a lovely evening celebrating our friend's birthday last night. Despite starting at 6.30, we didn't leave the table for coffee until turned 11 pm, and got home about midnight. Eva gave us a good welcome.

I've got washing in - I didn't realise how many pairs of jeans I've got - and they all needed a wash! I hope they dry outside. I'm going to sort out garden pots today. A lot have had bulbs in and some didn't flower so I think I'll get new ones in the Autumn. I've got some violas and pansies in the tomato troughs so I'll put those into some of the pots and get the troughs ready for tomatoes in a week of two. It doesn't sound much, but I bet it will take all afternoon.

Gemini, I hope S has an enjoyable and successful golfing holiday.

Daisy, has your OH kept it a secret what he bought at the car boot and B&Q.

Oma, Pleased to hear B is getting better, make him take it slowly. Nice to take the young ones out.

Wee Granny, I remember those school trips but Legoland doesn’t sound very educational. Very crowded, not easy to keep your group together. I hope the holiday goes well.

We have had to book another house to get all the family in so now we have spare space. Sil asked DS and Dil if they would like to join us, how good would that be.

GD2 and her partner have settled in and he did a bit of gardening for me, he likes gardening so I must find some jobs for him.
