Good morning, we have had the storm, still have in fact! I went to the gym yesterday morning and out street etc was still very icy, I decided to go to the Lidl a little later and couldn't believe it, within 2 hours the street was almost clear, thankfully.

I have coffee duty this morning, aqua fit followed by dreaded dry needling, at the fysio, in my leg. I have had it before so I know what to expect.

DS1 was saying that their streets were like this one, always have been as well, he said the girls would walk with their bikes to get out of the streets. They will be pleased it is now clear.

When my DC were young, I would put mushrooms in a meal, DS1 loved them, DS2 would pick them out and leave them, later, when he decided he would taste them he loves them.

I will start to get ready to go out, I either walk or bike to the centre, it depends on the weather.

I was walking home from the village on Saturday and met young friends, I was wearing the fur boots I got here in the village last year for €9, I have worn them all week in fact, so lovely and warm. The lady said how nice they were so I told her the story, later on I got a message from her, with a photo of her new boots, €9!

Glitter graphics not playing ball this morning.

It was certainly wet n wild last night. Still very windy but dry at the moment.

Daisy, that's why I don't buy fresh fish, because of the bones. I'm sure it will taste nice though.
      I'll stick with Birds Eye.

No big jobs to do, but I want to make some pancakes for the freezer.

Lizzie, you ought to be on commission for the sale of the boots.

Dinner will be mash, carrots, green beans, chicken and bacon lattice pie with chicken gravy.

      Stay safe ladies.

        Morning everyone

        Gem
hope the weather is kind for the school run pleased you enjoyed your meal out , how lucky to get a paring spot right outside😁

        Daisy
        Fish bones are my nightmare
I think it spoils the fish when your constantly finding bones , well done on tackling it a braver woman than me .

        Lizzie
Its surprised me how quickly the frost and snow went a few days ago.
The girls are wise to walk the bikes out of the street,
Sounds a bargain with your boots.

        Nanto
        Dinner sounds nice

Its a bright morning luckily we seemed to have gotten away with too much wind so far ,

Been out and picked all the moss up from the drive that the Magpies have thrown out of the guttering ,
I know they are keeping the guttering clear but the mess they leave is horrible .

          Good Monday morning, everyone.

It looks as though everyone is starting the working week with a busy day!

Lizzie, sensible of your GDs not to ride their bikes on the icy areas. Dry needling sounds very painful, but if it helps then it's worth it. Your boots sound a real bargain - no wonder your young friends got some as well. Keeping your feet dry and warm in the winter makes such a difference.

Gem, I hope the school run is ok, and no trees down or floods. What did you have to eat at the Chinese last night? It sounds very authentic.

Nanto, would you like me to pop round and just check out those pancakes for you, before you freeze them! I love pancakes but I'm not very good at making them. I've just tried Glitter Graphics and they've finally woken up - Monday morning blues, I expect.

Oma, I wish the Magpies were that efficient here - our drains get blocked so quickly.

I don't mind fish bones - I quite like the challenge, and I much prefer fish to meat. We used to have a proper fishmonger in the village, which was great, but now I usually buy it frozen from a local delivery company. The trouble is each variety is sold in big boxes and I never have room for more than one sort at a time.

It was a wild night last night. There was no way Eva was going to go into the garden for her last toilet trip, so I decided to take her for a walk! We didn't have to go far before she had 'performed' but we were both drenched. OH greeted us at the front door with a pile of towels.

OH is going to visit a poorly friend this morning, and I'm going to run the sucky up thing round upstairs, and I might wave a duster around as well. But only "might".

            Good morning everyone.

Nan2, are the pancakes in readiness for Pancake Day?

            Bargain boots Lizzie!

Oma, we get a lot of moss thrown down by birds of some sort.

I got GS dropped off in time and the wind isn't as bad. I am feeling tired and a bit headachey this morning so have decided not to go to aquafit. I can't go the next two Mondays so hopefully by the third the weather will be a bit warmer and I will be a bit more enthusiastic about a second weekly class! I will still go to my regular Wednesday classes of course.

We crossed again Daisy! You are a good dog mummy getting drenched like that!
I had chicken chow mein in the end, and and bottle of Chinese lager. The three of us shared a starter of prawn wantons too. Our friend insisted on treating us which was lovely. She comes to us for meals fairly often as she's a widow and her DD and DS live in London and France, no GC. She is good easy company and it is no effort to cater for 3 rather than two. She is very grateful though and likes to take us out to eat sometimes!

I didn’t hear any wind last night, I don’t think we were supposed to have strong wind. Not much planned today, meeting GD in the local town she is going to get her hair cut and H’s too. I have some jumpers to pick up from M&S Food Hall, can’t seem to find any that I like. DD and Sil are off on holiday tomorrow and GD and family move in.

Daisy I am surprised Eva was willing to go for a walk, well done Eva . I would eat fish every day if I had a decent fishmonger near. Waitrose fish counter have a good selection. Not a fish and chip lover. There is a company I used to buy fish from called Fish, it was very good but it was fresh and I had to freeze it. .Might try them again when I have room in the freezer.

Nanto, I have had pancakes for breakfast, not homemade. I am on a no bits and pips diet before the procedure on Thurs.

Gemini, sorry to hear you are feeling headachy this morning, could it be the Chinese lager?

Oma, pleased you haven’t been affected by the wind. What sort of night did you have? Well done to the Magpies for keeping your guttering clear.

Lizzie, Boots for £9 what a bargain.

I slept well last night for a change ,
Its difficult eating before the procedure you have to be so careful.

                  Daisy
Eva is right not wanting to go too far in the wind,

Been to the farm shop , B wanted a rib eye steak ,
I got a chicken skewer , I will have that with a nice mixed salad tonight.

We also treated ourselves to a fruit iced bun ,
We bought one between us as they are huge , too big to eat one by yourself .

It looks lovely out but the wind is very cold .

Plant, I only had one lager. I'm sure it wasn't that!

The wind and rain have really set in now! I'm hoping not to have to go out again. I made some soup this morning.
OH is back with more hearing aids

Gem, pancakes not particularly for pancake day, i just like to keep some in the freezer.

Wind not as strong now and we have had some sunshine.

We've just had a cuppa and a fruit scone, and i'm off to get some competitions entered.

A lovely day here today, bight and sunny and much warmer. Went to chemist to pick up my prescription this morning and decided to carry on walking over the park. Really pleasant and I noticed they had been busy creating a loving wide walkway through the woods. Lots of people walking their dogs there which I suppose keeps them off the playing fields. DD then popped in for coffee so that was my morning gone. The sky is really black now so I think we’re in for some more bad weather.

That sounds like a nice day Enfys. Are your knees much better now?

Today has been torrential rain interspersed with sunshine!

DD1's car has been written off

Enfys, we started the day with sunshine, and it was about 10C. I was on the phone to a friend in Devon and they were having torrential rain. Within about 5 minutes, it started here, but was lovely and clear again there! Of course I got wet taking Eva out again. It started just as I got to the end of our cul de sac.

Plant, I should think you will be glad when this procedure is over. Thank goodness your GD is staying with you - you wouldn't want to be on your own.

Gem, I do hope you're ok. Your friend sounds like a lovely lady, and I'm sure she is delighted that she can treat you to return your kind hospitality. I'm sure the thought of cold changing rooms after Aqua would be enough to put me off during this weather. I hope S has more success with the new hearing aids, and will give herself time to get used to them.

Oma, what is a fruit iced bun? I love iced buns, but if there's a better version I need to try it!

Nanto, good luck with the competitions. Have you had any good wins recently?

I spent the morning cleaning our bedroom - how did it get into such a tip so quickly. Although when I thought about it I hadn't cleaned it this year!
