Poor Plant. Hope it is only blood thinning meds to blame.

Poor Plant, I heard the same from someone only last week, I have been racking my brains trying to remember who told me this, now I have remembered, a neighbour from the 4th floor, the same story, blood thinning meds. She told me she was in hospital a couple of days.

They seemed think so Nan2 and said if no further episodes she was being discharged.

Poor Plant, what a scary thing to happen. You hear all sorts of things about blood thinning meds and sometimes I wonder if the 'cure' (in this case blood thinners) is worse than the problem of a possible risk of blood clotting. I don't understand how the thinners work, but I do hope Plant is ok.

I came home at lunch time, they were talking about keeping me in for 2days. I thought I was going to have a loose bowel movement, went to the toilet and was shocked to find it was fresh blood. This happened 4 times more so DD called for an ambulance but was told they were very busy and it could be hour, after another bleed she called 999 and two paramedics arrived. They carried out lots of tests but decided to take me to Stoke Mandeville. I have heard about people waiting in corridors and that was the case. Everything stopped and we were left for the night. After everything came alive again I had an examination and it was decided I could go home, stop the thinners for 2 days and they were going to for me to have a rectal examination and if in the meantime I have more bleeding I am to go straight there. The pressure the staff were experiencing, consulting at the bedside in a corridor was awful. No wonder they are striking

Good to have you back Plant. It must have been so scary for you all. Let's hope that is the end of it for you. Take it easy for the next day or so.

I'm sure what you describe is sadly a familiar situation our our hospitals today.

So pleased your home , awful situation in the Hospital but it seems sadly to be the norm now .
Hope stopping your meds sorts it out for you xxx

Plant, what a horrible and unpleasant thing to happen. I do hope stopping the meds also stops the bleeding. Did they give you any instructions about diet or anything?

Take it easy and rest - you must be exhausted. Big hugs. xxx

                        Good morning ladies.

Hope Plant is feeling better today.

Shopping coming between 9 and 10.

Not sure about dinner, there's a possibility we might have a pub meal.

Gemini, have a lovely day of cuddles with your GS.

I had a very good nights sleep, I realised last evening that not only was I, in what was not much more than a corridor all night, but that we were all old! I want to get an appt with my doctor to request I come off Apixaban, never had any trouble on Warfarin.

Plant I was on Apixaban after my operation. Only for 2 weeks so not long enough for any problems I suppose. It does sound as though it's not right for you. I'm glad you had a good night.

We are going to take GS3 to feed ducks now

Plant, I'm sure you must have needed a good night's sleep after spending a night in a hospital corridor. I wonder why the doctor changed your medication from Warfarin to Apixaban. Have you got to continue taking the Apixaban until you see your GP?

Gem, have a lovely day with GS3 today.

Nanto, what a lovely colourful graphic - just what we need these dull, miserable days. Thank you for mentioning your shopping delivery - it reminded me I need to book a slot.

I'm getting various jobs round the house done ready for being up at DS1's from Sunday. I want to get the washing done as well. Nothing "has" to be done, but I like to leave the house clean and tidy and leave a couple of meals for OH if he has to stay here to look after Eva. I caught her giving her wound a little lick this morning, but she stopped as soon as I asked her to. Then she tried to chase something in the garden. OH is out in the garden now cutting those bolts right back to the fence so she can't do it again. Hopefully!
