    Good morning ladies.

Enfys, be proud, and as Lizzie says, P would be proud of you!
Our library opens next week Lizzie. I think I will be there on Monday afternoons as a greeter - telling people the new rules. Now I am not doing much for my mum, and GS is going to school I have to time to become a volunteer there. which I always promised I would if my life ever became less hectic.
I hope your MIL finds the rug and curtains she likes Oma!
OH is our ironer Clover and is saying she must do some too as it's mounting up. Not just now though, she's off to golf!

    A lovely sunny morning here.
GS1 day, and the last day of the school holidays with him I think. Not sure what we will do. He had a day out with daddy and school friend yesterday, and going out with his mum, auntie and cousins tomorrow, so he may want a chilling day here. We shall see!

Happy Tuesday (which feels like Monday) everyone.

Clover we did that with her curtains a few years ago ,
found someone to make them and she had such a palaver about them we would not do it again , she was not happy with them and had the lady re do the hems and sides 3 times till the lady refused to do any more , They were fine but she found fault in everything ,
We said then that never again . I have made them for her in the past but i dont sew these days .

A couple of years ago my SIL took her for curtains and she had my SIL take them back 7 times , the shop finally refused to change them again , she wont go back herself she sends everyone else .

Goodness me Oma, rather you than me, I hope you find something today. Why does your Mil want unlined curtains? Do shops sell them?

Lovely and sunny here atm, not dressed yet. I am intending to chop up the branches we have had to cut from the Victoria plum tree. I had a phone call to say that we can go back to bowls in the village hall but we have to wear masks and gloves. I think I shall pass on that. A house at the end of the road was broken into and tried to break into another house opposite, a lady was upstairs and saw three men trying to break into her front door and called the police. The lady who had jewellery stolen had lost her husband and son this year. Not sure what time of the day it was.

Morning Nanto, hope you find the inlaws well.

Oh gosh Plant how scary for her , hope shes ok .

Well we back with nothing , Picked MIL up took her to SIL's shop she moaned and groaned about every colour Grey he showed her , decided on one that was acceptable then said she wanted to look at other shops first fair enough she's entitled to do that .
Brought her back to our house for lunch then she wanted to go to B&M took her down there wandered round came out with nothing .

From there we went back to Dunelm ,

She saw two TV stands huffed and puffed about them asked what i thought , sorry im not going there im not giving my opinion then getting blamed if she got it home and didnt like it ,
Told her it was her decision i could not / would not choose for her , so she decided on one, young man went to see if they were in stock then she decided she would think about it so lad had to take it back to warehouse

Then the Curtains again , must have looked at 50+ curtains for her to then decide the ones she saw yesterday with B's sister is the ones she's going for even though they are out of stock and she will have to wait for them , by now i could have squeezed the life out of her and accepted the prison term.

Next it was Aldi by this time B refused to get out of the car again so left me on my own with her ,
I almost ran her around Aldi to get her out and home again .

She will let us know about the rugs and TV unit , i have just text our Martin told him its over to him now i refuse to go Cushion shopping with her
Im exhausted she is so hard work , love her but want to batter her head in at times

Oh crikey Oma. She sounds like a nightmare to take shopping.

            In laws were fine thanks.
Came home, did a couple of little jobs.Dined on jacket potatoes.
Been gardening since 2ish. All done now again.

Oma, I would be doing time for a MIL (or anyone else) like that! She must be a very difficult person for herself!

Well I’m afraid the garden called louder than the ironing 😀 My neighbour is cutting his grass. I should have done mine as rain is forecast for tomorrow but I just couldn’t summon up the energy so I did easier jobs!

I don’t know where the day’s gone. I did make two small banana and sultana cakes and have prepped veg.for tonight as the. family are Zooming at 6.

Oh yes I know I’ve spent time back and forth on the phone between the surgery and pharmacy. I usually have 4/6 months worth of back- dated prescriptions which have now nearly run out. I am supposed to check in with the doctor before getting new ones.I rang the prescription line expecting to be told I would speak to doctor on phone, but no, a rather brusque receptionist told me to ring the pharmacy. The pharmacy then had to check something and said they would ring back.Of course they didn’t so I rang again to be told surgery had only sent script for one item instead of four and they’d have to ring surgery and would get back to me. 😡Not holding my breath🙁

Oma you have the patience of a saint even if you are seething inside!

Clover, what a way to carry on, I am of the opinion that it is time surgeries opened their doors with restrictions such as masks. I am wondering what the doctors are doing with their time. I have a rash on my chest, phoned surgery, a doctor will ring me on Thurs, no time specified. How can they prescribe without seeing me. We have been told the flu jabs will be carried out at a cricket club during Sept. !!! I am going to make an appt. at our local pharmacy.

We have had a gorgeous sunny Autumnal day, I managed to chop up the branches from the plum tree and put in the green bin, then tackled some plants that had stopped flowering, Sil brought me the green bin for it all to go in. The sun is still shining but too tired to do any more gardening. DD's first day back at work, I am wondering how she found it.

Oma, your Mil is impossible to take shopping, I don't know how you keep your temper in check.

Our Drs rang made me appointment for Flu jab 2nd October so that's sorted

Lizzie she is a typical German very loud cold and no tact whatsoever, says whatever she wants and cant see anything wrong when she's insulting people ,
We are used to her she wont change now but she does not get any easier .

She has just rang she's going with the Rugs from my SIL and she wants the TV unit she saw now

Clover my patience can be stretched with her at times , we can laugh about it afterwards when we get home and have a rest , but at the time im on edge with her ,
I cant even put it down to being 86 as she's always been like this

its ridiculous at the Drs these days my shoulder diagnosed by the nurse practitioner over the phone Clover , the receptionists are law unto themselves these days ,
We have one who is lovely if you get her she bends backwards to help but the rest are so strict .

Plant dont over do things in the garden you will regret it tomorrow when your aching xxxx

Oma, you deserve a medal for having not strangled your MIL before now!!!
Clover, chase them up if your don't get your prescriptions.
Busy lady Plant. Good to get outside in the good weather, and you are wise to stop when you have had enough.

We dragged GS away for his screens to play darts and boules in the garden, as it was a sunny day. He is surprisingly good at darts, having never done it before!
OH is in a Zoom meeting for her golf club committee. I have cleared up after dinner, so some quiet time online for me now.

Gem - your last day with GS1 before he goes back to school! It sounds as though you both had a lovely time though. A nice sunny day was a bonus.

Oma - I'm glad you got your flu jab booked. Our pharmacy is going to ring when they've got their vaccine in and give us an appointment. Much easier than going to the surgery. I think we'd all be wise to get flu jabs early rather than later this year.

Plant - it sounds as though the bowls club can't really make up their minds what to do - can you play bowls in gloves? Surely if everyone gelled their hands thoroughly before the game started and the bowls had been cleaned that should be ok. You had a very productive day in the garden - I hope you don't pay for it tomorrow. xx That poor neighbour whose house was broken into - she must have been terrified.

Clover - you've had a busy day, too. The cakes sound lovely. What a performance about the prescriptions. I hope it gets sorted out without you having to chase them again. Dragon receptionists should be extinct in this day and age. They've got no right to be aggressive or awkward with patients - it's their job to help the smooth running of the surgery not upset the patients.

Oma - words fail me about your MIL! We know someone very similar to that - he'll take something back 8 or 10 times, but he does at least admit he's a pain in the derriere! And he's not rude to people. Your MIL is lucky somebody hasn't yet throttled her with a pair of curtains! I hope she doesn't change her mind (again). What are the odds, do you think?

Lovely start to the day. Just sorted a load of lights to wash.

Plant, how awful about the house being broken into, and the the one that they tried.

Good morning, Nanto and all who pop in later.

It's beautiful here - blue skies and sunshine and hopefully it will be a bit warmer as the day gets going.

OH is going up to Leek today - we're still sorting things out from my cousin's affairs, and it's proving a long job. We decided I'd stay at home, just in case we are needed at DS1's as well. OH will be back tomorrow afternoon. He's booked into the hotel we usually stay in and it sounds as though they are working under a lot of restrictions. So I'm just off to make OH a packed lunch so he doesn't have to eat at a service station. See you all later.

                              Good morning all.

Nice start to the day here too Nan2.
Daisy, I hope you enjoy your time alone and the trip goes smoothly for your OH.
No more local break ins I hope Plant. I have been broken into twice in the past, I know how it feels. I worry about my mum's house being broken into now its empty. We have a living room lamp coming on by timer in the evenings , and the next door neighbours keep an eye on things, so fingers crossed all will be OK.

This afternoon we are going to our friends C and P's house (or garden maybe it is stays warm) We haven't seen much of them this summer, not our choice.
No other plans, but plenty to be getting on with in house and garden.

                              Have a good day everyone.
