Good morning Nanto and everyone.
Hope in-laws are in good form. A nice surprise to find two forgotten skirts.
Daisy I agree about the delivery. I can’t see the delivery driver standing on the doorstep while I unpack the new package etc. I think I’ll just do a straight exchange if I can.Same difference. The second delivery arrived ten minutes before I left for the bus!
By the way as an edit to my post about my Build A Bear collection I should mention that apart from one all were bought from charity shops so I haven’t spent a fortune on them,
Work for me this morning .I haven’t been for nearly two weeks due to visitor and appointments.I’m popping out now to pick some runner beans for my “lady” , hope enough are ready.
Whatever your plans or no plans today I hope the day is a good one for you.

Good morning everyone, and Happy Friday!
Nan2, I love it when you find clothes you forgotten about (if you still fit into them and like them!)
Oh Oma, I'm sorry you are not feeling well. Please take it as easy as you can today xx
All 3 GC are coming today. As they have all had a very busy spell and OH has an optician's appointment at 1, we wont go anywhere, except possibly the local park. I have GD and GS2 again on Monday, the last day of school holidays, so we will take them out on that day. Day at Grandma's today
Tonight a friend, recently and we hope temporarily, separated from her partner is coming over. We will order a takeaway, and cheer her up, we hope!

Good morning everyone. It's a bit chilly here this morning, and a bit of a breeze, but it should freshen things up a bit.
Gem - I think children need a 'do nothing much' day sometimes. A day with Grandma sounds perfect. I suppose most of our younger GCs will be going back to school next week. Our GDs don't go back until Thursday, so mum and dad are taking advantage of the huge drop in prices to take them to Legoland for two days. It means they'll be coming home on Wednesday evening and probably tired, but they haven't had a holiday and this is their only chance. I'm sure your friend will appreciate being cheered up - I hope things work out for her.
Clover - I'm sure your bears are all the more individual for being re-homed orphans. You're very kind to your ladies, and I'm sure they'll be pleased to have freshly picked runner beans.
Oma - poor you. I wonder what caused that. You definitely need a quiet day today, and a nana nap if you can. Having two lots of pain at once isn't fair. Do you know what had caused the pain in your hip?
Nanto - what a lovely idea - all year skirts. I know what you mean though. Some clothes cross the seasons while others definitely don't. I was struggling to find something to wear for my cousin's funeral and unearthed a linen skirt I hadn't worn for years, but it was just right for the occasion and I was glad I hadn't got rid of it during one of my occasional clear outs.
More letter writing for me this morning - I'm keeping Royal Mail busy all on my own at the moment. After that I'd better do some housework. Even the box of dusters is getting dusty!!

Good morning, cooler here this morning so may get my house hoovered through. DS1 and family arrived home yesterday afternoon, as it was they were earlier than planned , I had called in to see if plants etc were OK for them arriving home and they had just that minute arrived home so it was lovely to see them and the grandchildren!
A fortnight ago one of the ladies from the sport school died, suddenly then I heard that another one had died on Saturday, we were always together on a Friday morning so I had got to know her quite well, she was only 60 years old, I have just heard that it was suicide so that has upset me!!!!!
Enjoy your day with the grandchildren Gem, you will all enjoy it.
Oma, poor you in so much pain, hope it soon feels better for you.
I will read the rest later, must hoover through!

Good Moaning Each.
Nanto2, I had a giggle at you finding skirts you had forgotten about. No chance here, I wear stuff as soon as I buy. OH can’t understand it, he thinks new clothes should be saved for best! Habits from childhood I suppose. I had too many of cousin Carol’s cast offs to have anything ‘best’.
Hope you feel better after a quiet morning Oma.
Clover that arrangement is nuts! I agree with you, just check the new one and swap it for the duff one.
Busy day for you Gem, I hope your friend enjoys the takeaway and your efforts to cheer her up.
Daisy, you have the gammon to show for your efforts yesterday, and correspondence is always satisfying to get out of the way. The pillows are still airing in the spare bedroom where I can’t see them and I am taking the remaining one to the cleaners today.
Plant, you are becoming increasingly hard to beat at Words. I must try harder.
Have a pleasant day Ladies.
Lizzie, just seen your post, what shocking news! So sad.

That is what I have been finding Nanto, they are mostly off white. I have bought a red and white top to take away and think I might need a cardigan.
Clever lady Oma upholstering a chair, I would never attempt that. I can imagine you would have a neat rubbish pile. I can't imagine the runner will be finished for this Christmas if I am not starting it until October but who knows.
Clover can we have a pic of finished shelves for your bears. My sister has a collection of bears, she is about to be 91.
Food shopping for me today and I will pop into Sainsburys to see if they have a suitable cardigan. I don't want to buy too much food as I go away next Sunday to sunny Norfolk I hope.

Mimi thanks so much for the scam post very helpful indeed.
When you get your Tesco home delivery order do you find the fresh foodstuffs have a good sell by date,I had to get an Asda *HD* last week and some of the dates where very short indeed I had to phone up and complain (still waiting for reply).I had sweetheart cabbage that had sell by date as next day I used it by the way and no problems but my OH is governed by sell by dates.Keep Calm,You're Fabulous

Lizzie - it's awful to lose friends for any reason, but suicide must be one of the worst things, along with murder. I'm sure both your friends will be missed by ll of you. I hope your family enjoyed their holiday and were pleased to see their plants looking so pampered and cared for.
Grauntie - I try to wear anything new as soon as possible unless I've bought something for a special occasion like a wedding. But a couple of years ago I bought a pair of trousers from M&S - very cheap at the end of summer. It was far too cold to wear them so I left them at the back of my wardrobe and forgot about them. This summer I got them shortened and I've finally been able to wear them. Fortunately, they still fit and I still like them, but the couple of t-shirts I thought would go with them have long since gone to the recycling bin.
Plant - occasionally I find really nice things in Sainsburys - I hope you're lucky with your white cardigan.
The latest batch of letters are now ready for posting but one is Guaranteed Delivery and our village post office has closed down. We'll start testing the nearby villages to see what their POs are like - they're all much smaller villages than ours.
Glamm - I find Sainsburys HD are generally good on dates, but a recent Waitrose order has 4 or 5 things on very short (next day) dates. But shopping in there on Wednesday, I realised that all their fresh stuff was on one-two days! To be honest if it doesn't smell funny and isn't walking I tend to use them, especially if they're going to be cooked.

LizzieI’m so sorry to hear about the loss of that lady, especially to suicide. So sad.
Oma,I posted before I read you were feeling poorly so I’m sorry I didn’t comment and wish you well. You’ve places to go today so I hope you feel up to it.
Plant ,when I eventually get the bookshelf sorted out with bears I’ll take a photo. I hope you find that elusive cardigan.
Glamm, I have Tesco on-line delivery and find things are usually well into date. If they have a short sell / use by date they are usually packed separately and the driver points them to out and I have the option of not accepting them.

Lizzie, sorry to hear about the ladies who have died.
Gem, can't think of anything more perfect than a day at home with Gran.
Oma,hope you feel better soon.
Plant, please let me know if you get sorted with a white cardigan in Sainsburys.
Daisy, have you many more letters to write.Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Yes I found a white cardigan, slightly too short but it will have to do as it was only £5, it said £10 on the label but when I put it through it was only £5. It is quite thin and slightly see-through, they labelled it as cream but it is white. They did have another which I liked better, slightly lacy but they didn't have it in my size. I have ordered one on-line, can't remember who from now. I will see what that one is like then either keep it or send it back. No harm in having two white cardigans. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

The only problem we had was when we had the heatwave, the raspberries were a short shelf life , which at the time I was happy with but when I came to open the pack some of the raspberries were a little on the mushy side , but waste not , want not, I put them in a saucepan with a little water and sugar , gently simmered them , let it cool and hey presto.... raspberry sauce on our ice cream .
Oma sorry to see you aren’t feeling well, hope you get better soon.
Plant I usually buy cardigans from M and S but the red one I brought the other week is huge compared to the other ones I have . All of them are exactly the same style, same material, even the same price but the red one is at least one size bigger and now I have washed it it looks even bigger !
Ladies while we are talking about clothes, I wonder if you can help me. I’m going to an after wedding party in two weeks time and I have my outfit, or rather I thought I had . I am wearing a purple top with sheer sleeves that has little sequins on them . I’ve purple strappy sandles ( low heel ) with a matching bag . My only problem is the black trousers, they just look like trousers one would wear in an office. I want something ‘ special ‘ Just something that would make them look party/ going out/ type of thing. The trousers I have are straight cut, I don’t want boot cut or full/ baggy as I am short and I might end up looking like a barrel. Don’t want skinny cut either, the old legs aren’t what they used to be you understand.
I’ve tried M and S, Debenhams, Roman Originals and Wallis . I thought perhaps a velour type of thing but I can’t find any anywhere.
Bring me sunshine in your smile.
