Good morning to all you early risers, and that very cute caterpillar, Nanto!

It's already sunny here and promising to be hot later. Our friends from Australia are coming for lunch today, and I thought I'd boil a gammon which we can have with salad - something easy. So I read the instructions - remove all packaging - and realised, too late, that it didn't include the plastic sleeve round it. Thank goodness for cocktail sticks!! The day can only get better.

Gem - that sounds like the perfect holiday.

Oma - have a fantastic birthday day. xx

Enfys - it's a good job you took plenty of suncream.

Mimi - the charm bracelet sounds lovely, but yes, they can get heavy, and catch on your clothes, etc.

Qwerty - welcome back, and thank you for bringing the sunshine with you. x

Plant - I do hope your eye feels better soon - definitely worth going back to the doctors.

Morning ladies on a hot but blustery morning, wind supposed to ease off later. Stripped our bed and that is whirling around the machine,DD's washing is on the line.We shall pop in to Morrisons and then I plan to make the most of the sunshine. B has to get the case from the loft, 2 days to go before my feet land in Dorset 😊
      Oma have a super day.
Daisy hope your day improves . Enjoy lunch with your visitors.

Hello ladies Glad everyone is getting the sun.

We are having a day alone today as SIL and GS are at work and school and DD and GD have gone to York for a University open day. All except for GS left before 7 so I had to make sure GS was up and ready for school. He has his routine and how he likes his lunchbox packed etc.and I think I got it right- he would have soon told me if I hadn’t. We took the dog for a long walk but there was some shooting going on in the woods and she is terrified of loud bangs. She sat down and wouldn’t move so I had to carry her for a while and she was quiveringng in my arms, poor little thing. It’s a good job she’s only small.Trying to keep an eye on OH as well as he’s not that steady over rough ground these days I had my hands full.
Just going to make lunch. and have it in the garden

Sorry I’ve not replied individually but have read posts and thought about you all.

        Have a good afternoon.

Good afternoon all, it’s nice and sunny here but stupid hay fever is keeping me indoors.

Oma good news about B , harder to find a nicer birthday present!

Daisy just call the gammon joint a ‘dis constructed gammon joint’ , after all it seems to be the new trend in ‘fancy ‘cooking . You make a cake, accidentally drop it so it gets called ‘a dis constructed cake ‘ . If it works for top chefs why not you 😉😆

          Plant how is your eye

          Qwerty welcome home

Enjoy your day ladies, whatever you have planned.
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Afternoon ladies just a little quick chat ' I’ve been busy stocking up on food , banking stuff and I’m going out at 5 pm for cocktails it sounds grand I know but it’s a late birthday present from my Dd, I’m going to a George Michael tribute tonight starts at 7 pm so a few drinks first at a cocktail bar close by ,really looking forward to seeing her and him as a holograph I guess , it’s a story narrated on his life with songs in between and film of him , I will be singing and crying at the same time 😀
I have a July coming up that’s unbelievably booked up all month long will write more about it ASAP , I’ve chatted to the ladies who have awful problems , Clover keep that chin up xx

Qwerty - it's surprising how much there is to do when you get back from any holiday, let alone a month, so no wonder you're busy. But have a lovely time tonight - not too many tears I hope. It's lovely to have you back in the UK, and I'm really looking forward to hearing all your news when you have chance to relax for a bit. I hope J is feeling much better for your holiday, although I bet he's got loads to do to catch up with the garden etc.

Enfys - well done on coping with the poor, frightened doggy as well as making sure G was ok on uneven ground. I hope she's ok now - it can take ages to calm down when they're that scared. I don't know what I'd do if that happened with Eva - I certainly couldn't carry her. It will be interesting to hear what your GD thinks of York Uni - it's a big decision, and they give you such a lot of information to think about. I'm sure she will have lots of questions too. Did you enjoy having your lunch in the garden?

Mimi - I had to laugh at the deconstructed gammon (even more over the cake!) The 12 cocktail sticks held it together nicely, and we let it cool a bit before taking them out and slicing it. It was actually really nice and moist and tasty, with just enough left over for a sandwich tomorrow, but we are wondering why we only retrieved 10 cocktail sticks!!! I also did a nice big piece of salmon with a herby crust - we ate most of that too! It was lovely to sit outside in the sunshine at last. They are the sort of friends who you don't see for ages and just pick up where you left off, and we do still miss them not being next door.

Libra - I bet you're counting down the hours now. Will it seem strange coming back to Dorset, or will you feel you've never been away?

Plant - fingers crossed for your appointment this afternoon. xx

Good, afternoon from sunny Devon. The weather is glorious, very hot. We walked into the town this morning along the beach, lots of people in the water but I haven’t been tempted. I’ll stick to the spa 🙂. We had a nice mooch round, lunch out then a slow walk back to the hotel. We were planning to go on the putting green but fell asleep 😴 so ended up just sitting and reading instead. Will do that tomorrow and I’ll go in the spa again. Last night we were walking along the beach at 9.30, still very warm, unbelievable to be out then with no jackets. A lovely walk to help our dinner go down 🍛🍨🍷

I'm still wondering as well, Nanto!

Oma - it's not fair getting a headache on your birthday, but I'm so glad it didn't stop you going out for a lovely meal. I've never even been to a Turkish restaurant. What did you have?

Enfys - if we had that weather all summer I don't think I'd ever pine to go abroad.
