Hahaha, Qwerty - here I am, ejected from my family's bosom!! I've put it on the Christmas coming and goings thread.

I'm really sorry to read about so many poorly, coughy, sneezy, black-eyed, sleepless, stressed people. Please all get better for Christmas Day. xxx

I don't mind wrapping presents - so available for next year's wrapping bonanza!

I'm so glad the email muddles have been sorted out - we would hate to miss anyone out, and I have to say it's Gem who does all the hard work. xx

Thanks Daisy & Gem for the beautiful card. The singing is super.

Who irons 4-5 times a yr? 😲 Mimi take it steady. Grauntie I would swap wrapping for ironing any time. I love gift wrapping. We don't see anyone opening their presents at Christmas so all our gifts have gone.

Hope all poorly people & tired people are better soon.

Good morning all. Well it’s that time of year already, have you all got your stockings ready for the visit of you know who?
Years ago Christmas Eve was a very busy day for me, with countless mince pies and sausage rolls to make along with trifle and veg prepping to be done. All this was done with the radio on ( Usually the late great Terry Wogan ) playing Christmas music and lots of sillyness. I miss the busy manic Christmas Eve with three over excited children, 5 if you take into account OH and my dad, they were more excited than the children. It will be a quite day here, apart from cooking a piece of gammon for lunch I don’t have much else planned.

How is everyone this morning ?

Have a lovely Chrisstmas Eve ladies
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Good morning Mimi, and all who follow.
Nothing much planned here either Mimi.
Will be going round to in laws later.

Hope you all have a good Christmas Eve.

            Morning ladies ,
We are out for lunch with MIL , BIL& SIL then I will pop into my Brothers when we take Mam home as they live quite near
Then come home and make Desserts for tomorrow our contribution to Dinner ,

Nanto hope your Mam & Dad are well , have a peaceful day you deserve a rest .

Mimi not the same when you have no little ones is it , Making mince pies and Sausage rolls bring so many memories back , especially the sausage rolls , the children would keep asking if they were cool enough to eat and then gobble a couple up when they were , they always enjoyed them more on Christmas eve than any other time of the year for some reason

Have a lovely day ladies rest if you can xxx

              Good Christmas Eve morning everyone.

It's strange how times change and our traditions around Christmas move on.

Christmas Eve is usually a mad panic to get everything done for The Day, but despite having visitors yesterday and 8 for lunch tomorrow, 6 on boxing Day and 7 on New Year's Eve, I feel strangely calm. This is a worry! I should be running round like a headless chicken!!! I must have forgotten to do something. Turkey? In the fridge - check! Stuffing, bread sauce, cranberry sauce? All present and correct. Veggies including sprouts? Ditto. Pigs in blankets? In freezer. Streaky bacon? In the fridge, right by the turkey. Christmas pudding? Yep, ok. Mince pies? Two dozen (minus a couple!) in cake tin.

The Christmas cake needs icing - yay! I have got a job to do today!!!!

I bet I've forgotten something important.

No matter how busy or restful your day is, enjoy it.

Sunshine is back from her cruise, and I hope she'll be along to tell us about it when she gets a minute.

Good morning ladies, and Happy Christmas Eve!

A nice easy day for me. This morning, with no rain forecast, we are going to deliver the LibDem Christmas cards - the same round as we deliver the leaflets for. It takes an hour or less, and the exercise is welcome at this time of year!
We are going to DD2's for a Christmas buffet tea and to see the children do their Santa preparations. I am looking forward to this very much
I will probably prepare the mashed potatoes and mashed swede for tomorrow. Apart from that all is done. Cake is iced, mince pies are bought.

Mimi, when I was younger I always made mince pies on Christmas Eve (to the 9 lessons and carols on the radio) and iced the cake. I was also still present wrapping and a million other things. I prefer to leave Christmas Eve free now!
                Calm is good Daisy!
I hope you all have a lovely lunch Oma.

After almost no sleep on Saturday night we were asleep not long after 10 last night. Apart from a couple of loo trips I slept until 7.50 this morning, so am back on track now!

Have a good day everyone. Call into the Granny's Arms and Tea Rooms when you need refreshing!

Good morning all. A very quiet day here too but we are popping out to,the garden centre for a coffee later. Just fancied getting out and about, but we have nothing to buy so just a little mooch.

Mimi, I feel the same, really miss having children around, used to be manic on Christmas Eve. But that’s life. I hope you all have a lovely Christmas, stay healthy and enjoy time with your families. Xxxx

                    Good Christmas Eve Moaning!
All quiet on the south east front. DD2 is at the doctors with a very poorly child, (croup and now a sore throat), DD1 is at work, someone always goes sick at Christmas 🙄. We are sitting here in our dressing gowns drinking tea and contemplating breakfast.
A lazy day for us, oh joy! 😁
I am pleased to say the wrapping is done.
                    Enjoy the day ladies.

I'm with the rest of you. In fact I'm still in bed. Been awake a few hrs but with ME you have to completely rest while you can. I need to as December has been exhausting. DD1 & son's arrive tomoro til Thursday tea time. Really looking forward to it.

OH gone out to shops for last couple of things. I used to make mince pies but shop bought are as good. Managed to ice cake yesterday morning. Gem have you done your traditional Snowman decoration? We make our families memories without realising it don't we?

Hope all your preparations go well everyone. Try to make time for feet up with drink in hand tonight.xc
