Great news about P, Enfys. I hope you both really enjoy your Christmas
Qwerty, so glad you are feeling better!
Grauntie nice to see you (In your playdough coated jeans )

I had a lovely catch up with A this morning. After lunch I popped to mum's for something too complicated to bother to write about LOL. DD1 was there and had taken lunch and all was well.
They went to see my sister, and after dropping off a card and present to someone for my mum, and a new granddaughter card to my friend, I went to school for GS1, via DD2's, to drop off cards at is their anniversary today. GD was at a school and GS at nursery, so it was quiet!

Enfys I’m glad the hospital trip was encouraging and you have a bit of a respite over Christmas..
Qwerty it’s good you seem to be shaking off the lurgy.
          Daisy,look after that back.

I got to the hairdresser this afternoon and not before time. By the time I came home on the bus it was pitch dark and I had a job to see when we were at my stop.

Silly me then managed to let the metal loft ladder fall onto my forehead leaving a gash over my eye and blood trickling down my face. Luckily I remembered I had some Steri Strips tucked away so was able to find them and stick them on.

Enfys - that is good news from the specialist. I'm pleased P will be able to save you from too many sloe gins by sharing it with you over Christmas. Seriously, it's good to think you can relax for a few days and enjoy Christmas festivities.

Grauntie - I was about to send out a search party for you, but noticed that you'd checked in. It's a busy time of year and not always easy to find time to chat on here, but I'm relieved to know you're ok and just to bogged down with play dough! I have banned play dough in our house and won't even join in with the GDs playing with it at theirs. I really can't stand the smell of it. So I'm not likely to be sniffing at your slippers any time soon! I hope you can get it off them. Hopefully, J will be well enough to go back to school tomorrow.

Nanto - it's a good job those fruit cakes didn't need time to mature!! I bet they're yummy.

Oma - your house sounds like Crewe station - people coming and going in all directions! I hope you got your lunch ok.

Qwerty - I'm so glad to see you're feeling a bit better - just don't overdo it, young lady! Your DD is one in a million. xx

Gem - I hope you enjoyed your get together with A. Has your mum got over what she was fretting about?

Thank you for asking, ladies. My back has been much better today even though I've been on my feet most of the time. I made two big batches of chilli con carne. One was supposed to be hotter than the other, but they taste much the same to me! I didn't make the beds up to give my back a break, but did get all the washing done. And other things (on a separate thread - Car bother)!

Clover - sorry I didn't see your post before I posted.

Poor you, I hope it's not too painful - and that you don't have a black eye in the morning. Thank goodness you had the steri-strips handy. xxx

                Gem - many thanks. xx

Morning all, joy upon joy I seem to have acquired a water infection hopefully I can sort it out myself by drinking lots of water thus avoiding a trip to the drs .

Clover hope your head isn’t too painful.

Enfys that’s good news about OH.

Daisy how is your back today

We were going to go out this morning but as I am needing to visit the little girls room about every 10 mins I think staying in would be the sensible option, honestly it’s like being pregnant with baby pressing down on my bladder.

                      Have a good day ladies

Its winter solstice today, the shortest day.
This time next week,we should see the nights start drawing out.

Happy Winter Solstice.....I really think I should have been a pagan 🤫

Still very dark here and it’s blowing a gale but doesn’t feel cold so,that’s a bonus. Major tidying up here today, at least that’s the plan. The little room we call the office/craft room looks like a bombs hit it so I really must tackle that today. I think there will be lots of things for the charity shop....I love a clear out, somgoodmfor the soul 😀

Clover, hope your head is ok, that could have been nasty. Mimi, cranberry juice is good for water infection. Hope it clears up soon. Have a good day everyone 🌞

Quick good morning from me. Clover - I hope your head's ok this morning. Mimi - as Enfys says, lots of water and cranberry juice to stock it in its tracks. Or see what the chemists has to offer.

Good morning, Nanto - I always feel the Winter Solstice is a turning point in winter, but I'm afraid we've probably got lots more winter ahead of us. Still, it cheers us all up when the evenings get lighter.

Off to GD1's carol concert in church this morning. Her other granny is coming too which will be lovely. Then collect Cooper from the shop and bring him back here - DS2 and DIL are, as you can imagine very busy and today is their last trading day until 7th Jan. It's the first time they've closed for so long, but they do need the break.

Cooper permitting we must get the rest of the decorations up and give everywhere a dust and hoover. I've still got to decorate the cake and make mincepies but they won't take long.

Wrap up warm against that wind if you're going out - it's really gusting down here!
