Oma - I'm sure the bug will bite!

Sum1 - how are you getting on with your marathon about the forming of the British countryside?

I finished Anne of Green Gables. I enjoyed it a lot.

      This year so far -
      Rebecca
      Wuthering Heights
      Oliver Twist
      Pride and Prejudice
      Anne of Green Gables

Probably Catcher in The Rye for my next classic. I'm reading something else at the moment.

Gem - well done. The year is progressing with some very interesting classics.

Catcher has come back up to the top of the list, I see.

            That sounds interesting Oma.

I am almost halfway through Catcher in The Rye and finding it rather boring!

Gem - I confess, I gave up on Catcher a long time ago.

I never considered Catcher don't know why ,
Sometimes I have read a book I hated and just like you Gem found boring and I have taken ages to read and still didn't like it at the end but wouldn't be beaten by it ,
                Its called being stubborn hahaha

Well, it got slightly less boring, but it's hard to see how Catcher in The Rye has become a classic (I felt the same way when I finally saw The Mousetrap! I have seen much better Agatha Christie's than that)

I am going to rate my classic reads out of 5.

                  Rebecca (5)
                  Wuthering Heights (2)
                  Oliver Twist (5)
                  Pride and Prejudice (3)
                  Anne of Green Gables (5)
The Catcher in the Rye (2)
                  To Kill a Mockingbird (5)
                  Howards End (3.5)

Gem - are you going to wait till the beginning of May to start it?
