    In the loft

As I said at weekend we have been clearing the loft , the rubbish we had hoarded was silly , stuff never to be used again .
We found stuff we forgot we had ,
One was a almost new Travel cot complete with sturdy carry bag and lots of really good toys ( still ) despite getting rid of tons of them ,

I put all the toys in a big Ikea bag there was Bin Lorry, Pirate ship , Car transporter , Garage etc , I was going to advertise them for free then remembered next door has a little grandson , so I took them round and as it happened he was there , he was thrilled and kept saying look Nanny every thing he took one out , she was pleased too and she needed new toys for when he was there , so that took care of those ,

I then put the Travel cot on Gumtree for Free , within 20 mins a young man emailed and asked if he could have it and he could come there and then , so he came 30 mins later ,
Said his little girl wouldn't sleep in her big cot but they had been away for the weekend in a caravan and it had a travel cot in and she slept right through , so it came in handy for someone didn't it ,

Loft is empty now apart from Christmas tree and Decorations , some Toys that are sentimental from my childhood and the boys and suit cases

Doesn't it make you feel good Oma,when you have a good clear out.
    It does me anyway.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

That’s good Oma but a warm pkace to be I’m guessing, we are having a cull when the twins start school, we have a friend who is a teaching assistant for children with learning difficulties and she needs toys so promised her them, some are like brand new, all expensive what isn’t with toys but we are lucky we would rather give them away to someone who needs them and you know they are going to great cause so well done Mrs !!

Qwerty it was like a oven up there, I did get rid of loads last year but hung on to the really good stuff , why I don't know but next doors grandson loved them so worth it 😊

My OH is constantly wanting us to sort out the loft ! Yours now sounds like her perfect loft Oma

I won't go up there, so I stand at the bottom of the ladder, she shows me things which I say yes or no to and she passes them down to me. She, rightly points out that we have boxes which we put up there when we moved in over 7 years ago and haven't touched, so we don't need them. There will be exceptions, things I want to keep for sentimental reasons, but much of it can go. I never want to throw anything out, I must confess. I know we have to get it done soon though.

We have Christmas Corner and Baby Corner, and I send OH to bring down or take back items to these sections! My youngest DD, just 30 is not a mum yet, so I don't want to get rid of baby things yet. I did agree (to OH's delight) to get rid of the highchair once GS2 outgrew it. It was 2nd hand, and well used by all my 3 GC. They are so cheap we will just buy another when we need one!

Gem that was us we kept stuff just in case ,
last time we cleared it out we sold all the baby stuff like baby seats ,
high chair , two car seats , big Cot ,play mats etc. We know we won't be having anymore , both SIL and DS have had the snip .
Different for you though you still have a chance 😊

My DD is buying now for her GS, we have toys, cot, high chair, car seat, books etc.
What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Our loft is like Alladdin's Cave on a bad day! We have so much stuff up there we really ought to get rid of - everything from textbooks (long out of date) to toys (DSs' not GCs) to household things and a huge pile of empty boxes. The sort of boxes you keep in case you have to send its original contents back - old computers, tvs etc! My ideal loft would contain decorations for December time, suitcases and a few sentimental items.

Oma - your work was well worth it! Well done.

We do that Daisy keep the boxes long after the contents are old and useless and instructions , no idea why some of the instructions we haven't even got the equipment that they go with anymore

Last week GS2 disappeared from the garden, I looked for him in the garage and found him sitting on the floor looking intently at the empty box which his birthday tractor had come in

Our loft is a minefield again. I find that as soon as I make a space OH fills it. I now insist that any boxes he keeps must be folded flat before being kept. I'm little miss bossy boots don't you know.

However you managed in the loft with the heat Oma...phew, braver woman than me.😧

We did most of it early morning Nana , luckily when we moved in we had it all boarded out so easy to move around in ,
Also we had a large hatch put in with proper pull down wooden steps so no dangling over a hole with a ladder .
Mind you the softer things like the bedding for the Animal shelter were thrown out onto the landing saving me having to go up and down the ladder several times , it was so warm it drained my energy levels

Phew I bet it was still hot tho Oma. No wonder your energy levels were drained. I envy you your loft...boarded, loft ladder etc. OH has said we'll get those things done. Lived here 23+yrs & still waiting.😞

Nana we had it done as soo as the house was finished and we got the keys ,
I knew if we waited we wouldn't get around to it ,
lived in my other house nearly 30 years and never had it done despite constantly saying we would
