Nana - when we were moving house every 2 years one thing we always did was put in a good pull down loft ladder with a handrail. Our last move, over 20 years ago, was the only one which already had a ladder installed, so obviously we were delighted. But it soon became obvious that it was rickety, wobbly and incredibly noisy to pull up or down! Guess what? We've still got it!!!"Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

When we moved here last year to the bungalow we where pleased it had a good sized loft with easy access,we have all the xmas stuff and suitcases up there along with boxes of sentimental bits and bobs which I can't bare to get rid of.
What did surprise us was the fact that a dining table was up there when we moved in,it was not in pieces as you would imagine it would be but fully erected with all 4 legs fitted and positioned in the centre of the loft, hubby has measured the table top and there is no way it will come through the loft hatch so how on earth it got up there we haven't a clue. maybe it was put in there before the roof went on xxKeep Calm,You're Fabulous

Daisy it has been a talking point in our house too , we have gone through all scenario's
Was it hand built up there then they couldn't get it out ,
Was it Put up there before the hatch was finished and facias put on around loft opening maybe it went up then ,
Was there once a bigger hatch and its been changed ,
One of life,s mysteries
I will confess we have two tables in our loft complete with legs but they are smallish ones .
One is a little white table we used when we had extra people around at Christmas , but never used now so its up there and all DS's Music books are stacked on it ( he keeps saying he will come for them, 11 years and they still there )
The other table in a long narrow serving table that B made me when we lived in our old house , its washed pine with turned legs , I love it and cant part with it , although I have no where to put it ,
So that's up there against the wall with the boxes of sentimental things on it , so a table in the loft isn't so strange but mine will come out if we wanted them tooIm not fat just 6ft too small

Hahah, Oma - I'm still thinking about Glamm's table as well! I've even wondered if there is just one way of getting it in or out by tilting it in a certain way.
Your serving table sounds lovely and I wouldn't want to get rid of it either. What a pity it has to spend its time in the loft.
