So pleased you're feeling a bit more upbeat Qwerty. OH & I are having an overnight stay in the Lakes next week. Can't wait.

We are having 2 friends round for a meal on Saturday night. The other grumpy occupant of my house vetoed a Halloween Party when I mentioned it some time ago, but I will sneak in some decs now I know others will be here

Gemini - remember there's the Hallowe'en party in the Grannies' Rest as well!

I have got a free week-end! No visitors, nothing I have to go out of the house for, unless I want to. It feels like a bit of a holiday! The icing on the cake would be for the weather to be warm enough to sit in the summerhouse and read or paint for an hour or two. Simple pleasures.

Oh, I haven't forgotten about the Grannys Rest Halloween party. I'm planning my outfit as we speak!

I hope you enjoy your free weekend Daisy!

Another nice thing for me is a night away with my 3 DDs in the new year

Time to revive this thread at the wet dark time of year, post Christmas.
Remember it is about anything upcoming 'Nice Things'. Not only the big things like holidays and weddings, but any little thing which you are looking forward to

Two things I am looking forward to this month are a night away with all 3 DDs, and taking GD to see Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

I'm looking forward to being able to spend more time with Eva, our new dog. All our visitors have now gone, and hopefully life will return to what passes for normal in the Daisy household and I can spend lots of time with her.

A couple of Nice Things coming up for me. On Monday we are going to London for the day. With £5 each way train tickets via the amazing offer I mentioned a couple of weeks ago. We want to do a tour of Shakespeares Globe, and also St Pauls. We have theatre vouchers which you can't use online which makes booking for non local theatres a problem. We will take them with us and perhaps book for something a few months ahead, when we can get cheaper train tickets.
The following Saturday I am going to Durham with all 3 DDs. We decided on a night away with spa treatments instead of exchanging presents

I don't mind what the weather is like for Durham, but I hope it doesn't rain all day long in London on Monday!!

Nothing nice happening in my house or family at the moment. I am ill, one of my GD's is ill, my dad (93) is quite poorly in hospital and my sister is very poorly. I just want this month out of the way so we all know how things will turn out. Looking grim atm. But I am pleased that you all have pleasant things happening. Oh I do have a holiday booked in June with my bestest friend, but at the moment, yes you can guess it,,,, she is also feeling poorly.

We really need some frosty weather to kill all these germs

Mamma-mia - I hope things improve. Hang on to the thought of your holiday in June - your friend will be better by then.

February seems to be filled with nice things for me this year

DD1's 40th which means a surprise family and friends party the weekend before , which we are holding at her dads, then a family meal out on the night of her birthday, then a week later a baby shower/tea party for DD2!
