How lovely, Gem. Good things to brighten dull February days.

I've been nice to myself to-day and treated the lounge to a new leather corner suite in a sort of burgundy colour, now we all know I am waiting patiently for a bungalow to appear on the horizon sometime in the near future and how I like to change my furnishings but this was just made for me,poor John is in a state of shock as I went into the store and said I will have that usually I have him going to view everything in a 20mile radius and to make things even better the guy said I could immediate delivery, his immediate delivery was 2 weeks so I got on my phone and organised my friendly delivery driver from work and he is picking it up to-morrow for me and taking my 2/3 seater sofas to DDs house so she has a smile on her face to say the least, she can't have all the cushions as they match my colour scheme but I think she will cope don't you.Her suite will go into the Charity shop we work at so everyone will benefit in the long run even the charity. I'm so excited I've not splashed out on anything for so long what with the constant saving for the wedding at least I can see something for the hours that I work.

It's exciting having new furniture, Glam. Goodness, I get excited about a couple of new cushions. MyDIL2 recently got a very acceptable sofa and chairs fro £50 through a local ad in a shop. They're really comfortable and fit their room perfectly, and they don't have to worry if the kids spill things.

As Qwerty says - pics, please.

Daisy there are some fab bargains to be had from the small ads aren't there,DD got a Bosh washing machine from one a few months ago the people where selling quickly as they where moving abroad and it needed to go,she paid £70.00 and it had hardly been used she also bought their lounge curtains for £10.00 and they fitted her bay windows perfectly and look amazing.

Glamm - your DD did well - two brilliant bargains.

Interesting, though, we've just been getting rid of a few things and the items OH put on fleabay at low, low prices didn't sell, so he raised the starting price and they sold. And some things we put on Freecycle have gone really quickly - with one person travelling a long way for one item, but other people have just messed us about, saying they'd come at a certain time and not turning up etc. People can be amazingly fussy about getting something for nothing!

But I still think small ads and notice boards are good!

We seem to be neglecting the Nice Things thread!

As I have had my holiday already and the next couple of weeks is mainly to and from hospital treatments, some nice things on the horizon would be good

Nothing firm really, but 3 DDs and I are planning a Saturday night away in a nice hotel with spa, probably in May. I also hope to get a couple of nights in September with GRUers
I have a day in May with some friends, and have booked a couple of theatre night with my OH.

The next Nice Thing to look forward to is meeting a friend for lunch on Friday, after my treatment.

                          Tell us your Nice Things!
