2018 holidays!

Enfys I didn’t go away last year apart from a week in Coniston which was cut short due to yet another vile chest infection. I didn’t miss a proper holiday though, I enjoyed my own home and garden with himself.
This year though, we are having four holidays. We are trying to decide where to go in November, warm but not too hot and not silly money. Looking at Cape Verde, has anyone been there?

We have booked a few days away as mentioned earlier for twins birthday and DS birthday, we go on the 12 May which is their birthday but we can’t gain access to rooms till 2 pm so we are telling the kids their birthday is 13 th lol we can fool em at the moment but then they can have a full day of fun and a nice meal at night, the next day is DS birthday we have to be out of our rooms by 11 but we can leave the car at the hotel and spend most of the day at the resort or go to. Lackpool not my cup of tea but we shall see, fingers crossed for good weather May can be all over the place weather wise . So we have a few dys away in AprIl and May and a week in London May/ June

I am having a holiday at home this year, although intending to go out for days with my friend. I have a few things that need replacing at home and the garden so they take priority. Desperately need a new shed. bought a new one when I moved to this bungalow 5 years ago, but has turned out to have been a very bad purchase. its falling apart, the roof is leaking. Not sure which kind to buy but have thoughts for a plastic one, which one of my neighbours has got and it is very nice; looks good, very sturdy and waterproof.

GM - Cap Verde seems to be an up and coming destination. It looks very nice.

Mamma-mia as Gem says, days out are just a s good, and probably less hassle.

We haven't planned anything yet, but have started to get the caravan ready. As soon as the days are a bit longer, we'll be off on our travels. The vanis lovely and snug and cosy and has central heating, but having to take Eva out for comfort walks in the pitch dark is't much fun. I've tried using one of those torch thingies that you wear on your head, but it freaks her out because the light is moving round all the time, and obviously we can't go now until she's clear of kennel cough.

We are planning days out too, lots of interesting places to visit near to home. Anice lunch in a country pub, a pleasant walk or a garden to look around, that all sounds good to me at the moment. Whatever you are planning, enjoy yourselves 🙂

GD1 and I are planning a visit to Longleat, staying in a hotel for a couple of nights in May. My main holiday is in August, going to Cornwall with DS's and DIL's family.

Longleat s lovely, Plant, good area to visit. We love Cornwall, have had some great holidays there over the years. Definately somewhere we'll visit again.

It sounds like a fair few of us are opting for short breaks, days out more of a staycation this year , whatever your doing enjoy 😊

Obviously the same here, Enfys, and there are still lots of places along the Jurassic coast we'd like to visit, or revisit with the caravan. It's lovely only have an hour or so's journey. But we must make plans to go further afield as well this year. There's a lovely site fairly near to Clover that we'd like to revisit plus it would be nice to take the van up north to see family and friends up there.

I am thinking of arranging a trip to the IOW when GD and I are visiting Warminster. It is years since OH and I went. I am planning to go over as foot passengers and take a tour bus, we would go from Lyndhurst to Yarmouth, any advice welcome.

Trip to Amsterdam all sorted out for OH's birthday present. A few days in May should be just the thing!
DD has arranged for us to go and stay in her hotel( well, it's not her's but you know what I mean!) for the birthday weekend and meet up with her and family. That's a surprise as well.

Got my senior rail cards using Tesco vouchers, two for the price of one on the Railcard site! Can't complain at that.

Plant. GS is going on school trip to IoW next month. He's getting very excited about it. They're away from Monday to Friday. I always call it Isle of Widget at which he just shakes his head and sighs!

The places I remember about the IOW are Osbourne house and Wight garlic farm. Lovely garlicky things to buy.
For my birthday this year OH has booked a river cruise from Vietnam to Cambodia! Jane MacDonald did a programme about this very trip recently and he knew it was right up my street. I am so excited to say the least. Think of all that silk.....
