So we went to meet husband's ex colleague and her husband for lunch, very nice and a good laugh. One hour bus ride - we did not get the reggae bus we got a real proper one. We left them at 4pm and have been home all of twenty minutes (it is 7.20 now). First of all in the first hour of waiting there were no buses coming to us only into Bridgetown, the of the two that did come one did not stop at all and the other was full. A Bajan man said get the next airport bus it will take you where you want to go. I wish he had been there half an hour earlier as three came along empty! Anyway the one that came along was definitely not empty. I don't know how many people he squeezed on that flipping bus but as a rather short person it was difficult for me to find something to hold on to. After an hour the bus crowd gradually thinned out and someone offered me a seat which I was more than grateful for. By the time we got back to the apartment it was a race to the loo as there was danger of a puddle somewhere! If you remember I do have "undercarriage problems" but you never know if it is going to be a blip or a full blown escape!
We are both completely exhausted and had to shower our feet as it had been raining and the bus stop was on a boggy, grassy bit of the road. We were both wearing fit flops so you can imagine the state of us!
There is a steel band in the bar downstairs but I cannot be bothered to go down, we can hear it fine as it is beneath our bedroom window!!
