Yay we are here. Got cattle class and we were separated but a nice woman offered to swap her seat with husband's so we could sit together. The arrival at Barbados airport was dreadful, queueing for over 2 hours get out, we have never waited that long in all these years. It is 50th Independence Day at the end of the months and also Barbados food and rum festival and also four flights came in at the same time. Husband was cross with some people who tried to use their BA staff passes to use the crew exit but when we had been in the queue for ages but they got turned back and out at the back of the queue whe originally they were behind us! They aren't not allowed to do that unless they are operating or positioning crew. Then we had to wait for the other two couples to turn up for the transport and of course they were stuck in the mes as well so we have only been here a short while when we should have been he over three hours ago. Never mind. It has just done a big shower but it has stopped already, I think it was a welcome!!

one of the women on our bus (only three couples) was getting very stressed about not being able to get the Internet on her phone and we were still at the airport! Goodness knows how much she spent calling her provider but she was on there for ages. The tour company person asked for her travel document fort he taxi and she so busy on her phone she rudely (in my opinion) practically threw the travel envelope at him and he had to look through all her documents for it!

Anyway we are here now. Last time we were he the Internet was dodgy to say the least but this time it appears to be good. If you remember last time I fell and hurt my foot and it dogged me for a year? Well the path I fell on is now lovely and smooth so if I fall this time on that path it will be completely my fault!!

we are popping out to get something to eat, I have just hung all the clothes and put everything away - no point in letting him do it he will never remember where anything is!!! See you all later,

Zizi - great to hear that you have arrived safely -even if a little late. At least you weren't bumped off the flight, so that's one blessing. Sleep well tonight and prepare to relax and ENJOY! xxx

I'm sure you are happy and relieved to be there. Travelling is tiring even when it goes smoothly!

So glad to hear you have arrived and getting settled, how amazing is it that people think internet connection is the be all and end all of civilisation and how rude of that lady with her attitude
no wonder holiday makers get a bad name when all the person is doing his his/her job totally uncalled for, enjoy relaxing and catching up with your friends I can feel the hot sand between my toes and a cool glass of rum punch in my hand as I type this,(I wish)

It is 7am here but my body thinks it is 11.10 I have been up since 5.30 sun is shining brightly. Need to tidy up and go and have breakfast there is an on site cafe but not open all the time. After that we will go and get essential supplies from the little supermarket and have a walk.around to see if anything has changed .

We will.go to.Bridgetown tomorrow. The only thing I don't like about Bridgetown is that you get constantly harassed by taxi drivers wanting to take you back to your ship. Very annoying as you walk past one and say I am not on a ship and barely before the words are out another one is asking!

We have a one bedroom apartment with air x con in bedroom but only a ceiling fan in sitting room. We have discovered that sitting room is baking with the fan on as it disperses the warm air and cancels the work done by the air con!

Suppose I had better get clean and dressed. See you all later x

well went for very nice pancake breakfast. Joy the cafe owner remembered us! What a memory eh? If you see gobble de gook on here from me just understand that my iPad is changing words after I have saved it. Goodness knows why!

Anyway, sorry to report that after breakfast we came back to the apartment to clean teeth etc and I felt rather poorly. I went back to bed for an hour and felt a bit better. Husband says it is probably a combination of anxiety, travel, the heat and fatigue. I feel a right wimp!! Later we walked to Cave Shepherd next door (oh I could have spent a lot in there) to get husband a hat. He left his behind at ours and as he has a bald head and it burns very easily it was important. The lady said hat there was a mirror he could look in and he said I don't need to if I look stupid in a hat she will make sure I know, how very true........ Then we walked around the corner to the big supermarket to get supplies, just matches (no automatic lighting on stove), pasta, pasta sauce, bacon, frozen pizza, bread, butter etc. and of course Banks beer. Plus salad and fruit. I know it is lazy buying pasta sauce and I do usually make my own but hey this is holiday food! We have a full kitchen (if not as beautiful as my home one) including microwave, toaster, hob, oven and a small freezer and we do like to cook sometimes rather than go out every night to a restaurant. Then we can go and have a few cocktails along the road.

We will eat out tonight I think, then tomorrow go to Bridgetown and have a mooch round and have lunch. I hope I don't wimp out again.

I hope you feel well from now on Zizi. I'm sure it was a combination of lots of things.

Ready made pasta sauces definitely the way to go, holidays are not for cooking!!

10am here and sitting by the pool had healthy breakfast of banana and low fat vanilla yoghurt. Have got some bites but someone on here recommended taking an anti histamine for a week before departure and beyond and it seems to have prevented the constant itching I usually get.

                                I have realised I haven't brought any

beach cover ups with me so might have to buy a couple annoying really as I have quite a few. Oh well I am good at spending money x

                                Hope everyone is well
