Oma, I hardly ever go into Sainsbury's (or any other main supermarket for that matter) these days, so I've no idea whether our local Sainsbury's still has its cafe, but I haven't been near one since the day they tried to convince me and OH that the sausage on our then 3 year old GD's plate was edible - it was RAW on the inside! We walked out in disgust after complaining to the cafe manager who just shrugged her shoulders.

There is a very large Sainsburys a couple of miles from us, the cafe is the whole top floor but I don't know if it is still open.

Well, who'd have thought it! Recent research has shown a genetic predisposition in some humans to gain weight and regulate our appetite is caused by the gene called DENNB1B. The same gene is also associated with a higher body mass in Labrador dogs! I've had several Labs and lab crosses and they have all been ready, willing and really keen to eat endlessly.

Scientists have found a genetic cause of many labradors' - and some people's - tendency to overeat.

I don't know about anyone else, but I would struggle to even name the planets of the solar system in the order they are from the sun, so I've always been in awe of astrophysicists and those who study the behaviour of far away galaxies and come up with theories for things I don't even know exist. This article has given me brain-ache! Even Scotland's Astronomer Royal says "Dark Energy appears to be even weirder than we thought".

New research could force a fundamental rethink of the nature of space and time.

When GS1 was at his first primary school the classes were named, in order , after the solar system. I knew them then but don't any more!

The scientists who research and understand these matters are amazing.

              I'm with you Daisy I wouldn't know either ,
There. Is a rhyme I think to learn the order but I can't remember what it is.

Your right Gem these scientists are clever people .

We've been discussing the day-long closure of Heathrow because of a fire nearby, so this caught my eye - extreme day trips!

How do you fancy getting an early flight to, say, Milan, having the day to explore and getting a flight back in the evening? It seems there is a growing group of people who do just that, using cheap last-minute flights of 2 hours or less. It makes days out to, say, London look a bit tame, doesn't it.

Extreme day trips are popular on social media but have drawn criticism over environmental concerns.

Looks good, especially if you live close to an airport!

Gem, that must make a difference being close to an airport. We're not far from either Bournemouth or Southampton - don't put ideas in my head.

Oma, I never thought of Hen or Stag dos.

Plant, I think you'd need plenty of energy. It would be a very long day!
