Rain off and on here, I hope it improves when we (DD. SIL and myself) are in Cornwall next week. Well it will be a change of scene and I think the forecast is for it to improve.

Oma, I donโ€™t think it is unusual for the elderly, if in hospital for a time, to lose their reasoning, that happened to my Mil. No point in sending her home, she will be back in again in no time, what a worry for you when other people are making the decisions.

On Saturday a major village event took place in our village on the green. It happens every year and takes a lot of organising and raises money for charity. It was started in memory of a little girl who sadly died. In the morning it was a 7 mile race, followed by a fun run in the early afternoon and races for the little ones on the green. In the evening there were three bands entertaining. Unfortunately some yobs decided to arrive and cause trouble, the police were called and closed down the event. This event takes a lot of organising, the committee erect a proper stage and music. What do these youngsters find is so amusing to do this when they could have just stayed and listened to the music
What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

There is no discipline in the home these days for some of these youths ,
They are allowed to run feral.
      You see it everywhere now.
Such a shame , the police should have been carting them off not shutting it down and spoiling it for everyone else.

Sounds like you are feeling much better,
Did you get your birthday cocktail?

Yes Dentist was a checkup and make appointments for myself to have a bridge fitted next month ,
ยฃ333 shocking isn't it but I can't get used to this little denture I have ,
It's very small and thin but feels like a great big lump of putty on my mouth .
Hope you had a good lunch.

Well done to your GD it's not easy with dyslexia she must have worked hard,
My niece was waiting today for her results as well.

You will feel like a new woman having your hair done ๐Ÿ˜

We all agree it's dangerous for MIL to go home , that's why we have requested another meeting with the social worker before she is released from hospital.

Lizzie, big congratulations to your GD2. She must be over the moon. Dyslexia makes things much more difficult as it can affect so many things, so all credit to her. You must be very proud of her.

Nanto, our Sainsburys seems to have been out of stock of all sorts of ordinary items just lately. I don't know what the problem is. You've reminded me to make an appointment to get my hair cut. It's so cold here our heating has kicked in automatically. The thermostat is set on 17C so it must have been colder than that indoors.

Gem, is must be hard to imagine how cold and wet it is here when you're enjoying the Mediterranean sunshine. I'm pleased to hear you're feeling so much better. It's nice having the pool to yourselves. I'm always grateful when other holiday makers are such wimps.

Plant, I hope you're looking forward to your trip to Cornwall, and I believe the weather is due to improve over this week-end. It's awful that your lovely village event was ruined by yobs with nothing better to do. I agree - arrest the yobs and let the event continue. Closing it down like that means the yobs "won", with no repercussions for them.

Oma, dental care isn't cheap, I know, but it will make you more comfortable and that's worth every penny. Has your niece had her results? Fingers crossed they are good. I do hope MIL's bed sore doesn't get infected. When will the social workers make a decision about your MIL?

I enjoyed seeing friends for lunch today despite the fact that the weather was so bad it looked as though someone had run off with the Isle of Wight. It's usually a beautiful view!
