    Good morning ladies

    Nan2, what cute kittens

Greener lawns is probably the main benefit of summer rain Daisy!

DD and SIL3 and little E were coming today t0 visit and bring my birthday card and present. I have told DD about my cold,. and said I understand if she wants to stay away. I have also suggested meeting at the local playing field with swings etc, or in our garden! I will see what they say.

Our catsitters are due at 6.30. We will meet them at the station and go out to eat.

      Morning ladies

      Gem
Was the envelope from me then ?
Good idea in the park if it's not wet and cold , see what she thinks about that idea.

      Nanto
We never find what we want in wicks and to be honest it's a bit more expensive than other shops.

      Daisy
It sounds like Eva had a lovely time paddling , her leg does sound much better.

It's DDs 53rd birthday today , so we are all going to a posh place for lunch ,

I'm sitting in my clean PJs as I didn't see the point of having a shower getting ready then having to change again to go out ,

Housework done bathroom cleaned and towels in the wash so everything is done.

          Good Sunday morning, everyone.

Nanto, my OH doesn't go to Wickes very often either. I suppose it depends what you're shopping for. I hope Hubby does better at the car boot sale this morning.

Gem, if the weather's nice you will hopefully be able to see DD3 outside. Enjoy your meal with your catsitters this evening. I bet they're looking forward to seeing P and M, as well as you and S of course.

Oma, very happy birthday to your DD. Enjoy your lunch with the family. Yes, thank you, Eva's leg is so much better. She's been playing ball this morning and tossing her toys all over the living room. Some days it's like having toddlers in the house!

Nothing planned for us today, but it's not raining, so we might get a bit of gardening done.

I hope you all had a lovely lunch Oma.

Good to hear you are having a break from the rain Daisy!

Well that was something of a fiasco!
DD and SIL were much later than they said, plus little E had fallen asleep in the car AND they each thought the other had put my cards and presents in the car

So DD and I had a short distanced visit then they went. The weather is very nice so we would have been ok for a garden visit.
We are all packed and the floors are steamed which was the job I saved until last.
Having a cuppa now until it's time to get ready to meet our friends and go out to eat.

Gem, reading Oma's thread about her day, and reading your post, I think it's one of those days when the universe sets out to be perverse. What a shame DD3 and family had such a short visit, but they are coping with a lot and sometimes things just go a bit wrong.

I'm sure you sighed with relief when you'd finished steaming the floors, knowing everything is now ready for your friends.

It's been dry all day, so OH has done lots of weeding in the back garden. There is now room to plant some new plants there. I cut the lawn and trimmed the edges, and did a few jobs around the house, portioned up some dog food and also cooked our dinner. I walked Eva round the block this evening with no problems. The first time since the thunder storm. Fingers crossed she's now realised it's not going to frighten her any more.

Good morning. We've had rain during the night and i think more is forecast today.

Gem, sometimes things don't always go to plan.
                Have a lovely holiday.

No plans for us today, we'll just take the day as it comes.

                  Good morning Nan2 and everyone.
                  Raining here!

Daisy I was at least glad to see DD and know she looked well.

Things continued to go awry when all driving access into the railway station, where we were to pick up our friends in the short stay car park, was closed off for the weekend There are extensive ongoing 'improvements' but this closure was an unknown until we got there. There are literally no streets or places anywhere York station where you can wait. We kept parking at bus stops, being moved on, driving round etc etc. Our friends are terrible at checking phones so didn't see our explanatory texts and wondered where we were.
In the end we all met up. We had a nice meal last night and chat before bed.
My cold persists. I think flying will make it worse, but the sea air will ultimately improve it a lot!

We arrive at the hotel too late for dinner so will buy sandwiches to eat on the flight. We will have a pub lunch as our main meal on the way to the airport.
I have my phone, the hotel has wi fi so I will be checking in here regularly

                    Morning ladies,

                    Gem
That sounds like us yesterday, we had no idea of the road closures.
Apparently the notifications were on line but where we have no idea.
At least you found each other eventually,
I hope the cold improves in the nice warm sea air ,
You go and have a lovely relaxing holiday ,knowing DD is looking well xxx

                    Nanto
It rained during the night for us too , it's dull and more rain forecast,
It must have been quite windy during the night we have lots of leaves that have blown off in the garden.

We have boiler man supposed to be coming this morning, he did text last night to confirm, but after the last two missed appointments we won't hold our breaths .
Luckily it's only a service not a breakdown.

We then have to go to visit MIL in hospital, apparently it's a nice quiet ward she has been moved too so she likes it.

                      Good Monday morning, everyone.

Nanto, we had rain in the night as well. It's still raining, so we're glad we concentrated on the garden yesterday. It's the sort of day to fancy one of your delicious pies.

Gem, what a palaver with the parking to meet your friends. I hope your cold clears up quickly. Lots of fluids on the plane might help keep you comfortable. I think you really need this holiday, and I hope it all goes well. At least the weather should be better than here.

You must have been pleased to see DD3 looking well even though the timing went wrong.

Take care. Don't worry about checking in here - we promise to behave! xxx

Oma, I hope your boiler man arrived - third time lucky. I hope MIL is ok. Any news on what happens next?

OH is planning to spend today wood-turning. I'm not sure what I'll do yet. I really need to sort some clothes out so I might do that. Not a job I enjoy.

The boiler man was here by 8.30 so that's done for another year.

Went in to see MIL, Dr came around , said she is ready to go home but need Social worker to organise more care,
We voiced our concerns about her going home but the OT said the tests they did she was ok and passed them.
Although they did note her confusion.

The test consisted of making a cup of tea ,doing some toast , and brushing her teeth.
Walking to the bathroom with her walker,
                          That was it ,
Shocking but we can't force her into a home.

While we were there she said who is coming in today is it B&J ,
B said Mam we are here , she looked totally confused by that.

So the worry begins again .

Oma, I do hope that all goes well, but, I have my doubts!

I did a silly thing at the Lidl this afternoon, on the self scan you can fill the amount of the article in before scanning, at the one in the village you see the number of the amount, I got 3 tubs of quark as it is a rare find at the moment, I pressed the 3, didn't see anything on the screen so did it again, I ended up with 333 tubs of quark!!! It is a good thing it wasn't busy, the young man sorted it all out for me, in the end I went through his cash desk, he asked when I was going back for the other 330?????? I will know better next time!
