        Good Saturday morning, everyone.

Nanto, that umbrella is needed here this morning. It was quite sunny until about 10 o'clock and since then it's been more like November than June. I hope you didn't get wet in town. Did hubby get what he wanted at Wickes. I hope you had a chance to have a cuppa with your DS2.

Gem, it's exciting when you get to the stage of packing, although I always pack far too much. At least the weather should be good for you, so that saves taking wet weather clothes, shoes etc. I do hoe you're not starting a cold. You're definitely in need of this holiday, and I hope you can relax and recuperate a bit. Dr Daisy prescribes plenty of "me time" - compulsory, please. Where are you flying from?

Oma, I hope the hospital visit goes well. We find Saturday appointments for OH's eyes are better. The hospital's much quieter and there seems to be less hanging around. It sounds as though you should be giving yourself a break rather than pushing through tiredness. Be kind to yourself. xx

We'd hoped to do some gardening today, but it's far too wet. It's the sort of day for online shopping. . Nothing else planned.

Daisy, thank you yes, me time is definitely on the agenda!
We fly from Leeds Bradford airport, which we love. Much smaller than Manchester, easy to get to and easy short transfer from the company we use for parking.

I hope all went well at the hospital Oma.
I had a message from a neighbour at 91 ( we are 59) saying an envelope was delivered there to me, with his number on. I will pop down to collect it later. I am wondering if it's you again. Oma, as OH's went to a different address

            Oh my goodness , I can't have put 91 surely 🙄😁

Hospital was to visit MIL although I do have an appointment to see the cardiologist but not till next month.

MIL was very chirpy , they moving her onto another ward today as she doesn't need the care on that ward now,
I have a feeling they may discharge her this week.
We talked about the home and she said she knows at some point she will have to go but not yet.
So I persuaded her she needs carers at least twice a day now .
We just have to wait and see what happens,

Oma, you would hear me screaming from miles away. If OH ever hears me scream she's knows there's a moth!

Oma, a few years ago when GD2 was only about 10,she found a chrysalis in the garden.
She kept it in a jar in grandads shed, and called it Katrina.
Grandad was under strict instructions to look after it and make sure it had some leaves to eat when she was at school.
Eventually it hatched out, after googling, it turned out to be a giant elephant hawk moth.
Very similar in size to the one in your photo.
They did let it go,never to be seen again.

Thank you Plant. We shall be in Majorca so it should be

We have spent the day mostly cleaning and packing, printing things off and relaxing.
My cold feels no worse but no better. I am going up to bed to watch some TV there soon. OH is asleep on the sofa in front of the football match she is meant to be watching

Oma, I'm not sure if this was the beast who frightened me. It definitely had a hard wing case, but it was roughly that shape and colour and far too big for (my) comfort! "Rarely" seen is good but "never" seen would definitely be better.

It's good news that MIL is feeling better, but I'm sure you and B are anxious to get the support she needs set up before she's discharged.

Nanto, your GD2 did well to get the chrysalis to hatch, (with Grandad's help) but you were probably glad to see it fly away!

Gem, I hope this means your cold isn't going to develop into anything that might spoil your holiday. It must feel good to know your packing and paper work is all done and you can relax now.

Plant, how are you? If you've been experiencing the same weather as us you probably haven't been out much lately. It's horrible for June, isn't it.

After another day or rain and more rain our lawn is looking nice and green, and everything has put on a growth spurt in the garden, including the weeds, of course. We both overslept this morning. We had nothing planned, so it didn't matter. Sainsburys came at 11 am, and we were up and dressed by then! It rained hard until about 3 o'clock, so I decided it was a good time to take Eva out. We drove down to a nearby car park and I was nearly blown over when I got out of the car. The wind was howling! She had a paddle in the river and then a neighbour and her DD appeared with their cockapoo, so Eva went in the river again with their dog. Their dog sat down in the water and nearly disappeared! We carried on with our walk, stopping for another paddle, and then back across the open grassy area where the wind was ferocious! I was glad to get back to the car!

Eva's leg seems much better though, and she's been happily playing with her toys this evening.
