Nanto, that's a very sturdy-looking parcel box. Quite a lot of people round here seem to have an ordinary wooden box on their porch floor, which isn't very secure, but at least stops parcels from getting wet when it's raining. We've only got a small plastic container to put the milk deliveries in.

Gem, what a lovely smiley photo. Was the heat very tiring? Well done to OH for going on the day out. Just being with people helps, and I'm pleased to hear she is improving. I have done nothing today. It was too hot and I'm tired from sitting around, reading.

Been exhausting with MIL today , we tried to speak to a Dr but they were all on other wards , so we talked to the ward sister ,
She said they are noting everything she is doing and they were aware she was ringing people very early , they had to go in and tell her to stop because she was disturbing other sleeping patients ,
She is insisting her house is downstairs and keeps saying she is going to ring the police .
Then she said she's going into town to step out Infront of the number 13 bus see if it will stop🙄

She has rang Martin 5 times in the last hour asking when he was going in ,
He keeps telling her it's night time .

Daisy the heat was quite tiring, but car parking is quite close to the station, and the station itself ( where all the children's activities were based) is small. So not too much walking.

Oma is must be awful with MIL phoning everyone all the time in her confusion.

Nan2, I hope you get home before the thunderstorms happen!

Such a hot night here. OH was absent from the bedroom for at least a couple of hours and I can tell she had been lying on the sofa. Upstairs in our house is incredibly hot.

Golf for her today if she's up to it.

DD3 and I are spending time together, to make up for me missing her birthday do.
We are going to the cinema to see Devil Wears Prada2, and out to lunch.

Gem, and Nanto, thanks, I have seen the photo, lets hope that there are lots more of those happy photo's to come!!!! It is still quite cool in here, my bedroom is never really too hot, I always have the window wide open, the windows on the other side are also open to it does give a breeze.

Oma, it would be handy for your MIL, and the rest, if she didn't have her phone during the night.

Friends came last night for coffee, friends of DS2 actually.

I will check out weather Nanto. Friday evening storms are forecast.

I was the same as S I spent a good portion of last night downstairs it was so hot in our bedroom.
I hope she is able to play today it will do her good,

We have a day off today so doing nothing ,
My new mirror is being delivered at some point ,

People are coming to collect the paving slabs in the garden and someone else for the Astro turf ,
We are re doing the garden ,I'm sick of having to pressure hose the slabs and they never seem clean ,
So SILis laying new astro turf down when we have painted the fences.

I put them all on market place for free as long as whoever wanted them came and lifted them ,

One man asked if he could come and inspect the pavings before he decided if he wanted them and could I clean them so he got a good idea 😮

I said certainly not , they are free so they come as they are,
The cheek what does he want for nothing 🙄

Lizzie, have a lovely holiday. I hope the journey isn't too hot.

Nanto, a thunderstorm should clear the air for you, but I hope it doesn't happen while you're shopping.

Gem, I hope S is feeling well enough for golf. Enjoy your cinema trip with DD3. At least the cinema should be air-conditioned. Have you chosen somewhere special for lunch?

Oma, I hope something can be sorted out for you MIL today. She is obviously very confused, but she can't go on ringing the family all night. I had to laugh at the man and the paving slabs. What a cheek! OH used to put things on a free site and we got fed up with people not turning up to collect something, or then being very picky! One woman got really nasty with OH over a sofa. She was furious it wasn't red velvet. OH had only said it was red. Her language was unbelievable!

No plans for me today except a bit of housework and washing. At least the washing should dry ok!

The slabs have gone ,a young local lad came for them for his allotment to stand his shed on ,
Now just wait for person to come tonight for the turf ,
My new dining room mirror has arrived as well,

GS coming for tea so a busier day than expected.

Not too much housework in this weather Daisy I hope!

We enjoyed the film and air conditioned cinema! We had a pub lunch outside in the shade. I dropped DD home then came back..
OH was very hot when she returned and they stopped at 9 holes rather than 18, but she enjoyed it.

We are inside now with curtains closed and fan on!

Glad S enjoyed her golf. Im not surprised they stopped after 9 holes with this heat.

The thunder rumbled for a good couple of hours,but we only had about 4 spots of rain.

GS was in Scotland this weekend playing golf,
Even with his hat on and shirt he got burned on the back of his neck,
He said it was too hot really but they enjoyed it,
Pleased to hear S was more sensible and only did 9 holes.
Did DD enjoy the film too, I bet you were pleased to have Aircon in there.

We haven't had a rumble of thunder but it has cooled down a lot thankfully.

Turf gone the garden looks odd without everything.
