What a shock , thank goodness your safe,
I bet that lady got a shock as well, good for her coming back and owning up to her mistakes.

    Daisy
Sounds like you had a long and exhausting day yesterday ,
Try not to do too much gardening today , you really need to rest young woman , be good to yourself xx

GS is putting lots of feelers out to theatres etc hopefully he will get replies but this time of year at the end of Uni year there will be lots doing the same,
He has got a good lead from a friend of a producer so you never know .
If he doesn't get anything soon he intends going back to Foot Asylum and working there till he gets something.

MIL said today she was thinking maybe it's time to move to sheltered accommodation,
She's getting afraid on her own and is lonely,
She wouldn't fit the criteria for a home as she still has capacity to look after herself ,
But assisted living would be good for her.

I rang Bs sister and told her , she is going tomorrow so she is going to gently talk about it with her,
I have told her not to push as if she thinks she is being bullied she will dig her heels in and change her mind .

It's dull and dreary here and a little chilly .

Oma, I am sure she is feeling lonely but only she can make the decision to go into sheltered accommodation.

If we hadn't got GD living here I would have to consider this as DD and Sil go away a lot. My DD is suggesting someone living in if GD moves out. Not much chance of that unfortunately for her and H. The family have to do very little for me atm and I am still driving locally.

WG, I hope the children didn’t disturb you on Sat.. I was visiting GS1 with GD1 and H and the children were very noisy and then GGD came home and joined in.

I think assisted living would be best for your MIL Oma, if she doesn't change her mind. As you say it has to be her idea or she won't do it.

It's a good arrangement for you Plant with family living next door and atm your GD there.

Daisy did the planting get done?

We had a very lovely afternoon, and were able to be in the garden the whole time.

Oma, assisted living probably would be good for MIL.
          Our GD2 works in this.

          Lizzie,glad you are ok.

Hope you all have had a lovely day,i've read posts been too busy to reply.

Oma, that's a great step forward for your MIL to consider assisted living. Fingers crossed she won't change her mind, but it's much better to be looking for the right place in the summer than in the cold, dark depths of winter. Good luck to your GS looking for the right job. There may be a lot of other young people doing the same, but it sounds as though your GS has done particularly well, and that counts.

Gem, I'm glad the weather was kind to you, and I hope S enjoyed the birthday celebrations.

Plant, it's very reassuring to have family so close, and I think you cope very well. Being able to drive is a big bonus, even if it's only local.

Lizzie, I do hope you're feeling ok now after that near accident this morning.

OH finished planting the new plants we'd bought in the week. I foolishly bought a hanging basket, so now have to plant that up as well. OH mowed the lawn while I did the edges and a bit of weeding. It was dull and the wind was cold. I made a chicken curry for our dinner, and portioned up 4kg of dog food. Eva ended up going out quite late, but the wind had dropped and it was very peaceful.

            Good night, everyone.

Good morning. The rain has eased off a bit now. At 5 o clock it was pouring down. I think sun is forecast for later.

No plans for us, we'll see how the day progresses.

                Good morning everyone.

Rain here overnight too, sunny and breezy now.

Aqua this morning and we have friends calling in for a catch up after tea. No other plans as far as I know .

                  Morning Nanto, ladies.
                  It's raining and windy here

DD dropping the dog of this morning for two days,
Her and GS are going to Leeds to pack his stuff up and the flat is going on the market fully furnished,

GS has enjoyed his time living there but doesn't want to stay he wants to be home,

                  Plant
It's good you still can drive and have your independence even if it's only short journeys,
Long may it last but I'm sure you are much more sensible than my MILand you will know when it's right and safer for you to consider assistance living .

                  Daisy
I'm sure Eva didn't mind the late peaceful walk 😁
I haven't bothered with hanging baskets this year , we are going to redo the garden take paving slabs up around the shed and leading to the gate and new astro turf put down so just a few plants in pots for this year,

My outdoor lillys are a bit odd this year , we have two big tubs of them , one tub is sprouting the other there is no sign
I am wondering if over the winter it got waterlogged and the bulb have rotted.

                  Gem
                  Did S have a good day celebrating?😁

Chilly and drizzling here, I was hoping to get the pots finished today, just need a few more plants for the pots and a couple of hardy geraniums to replace a couple that have not survived the winter.

Oma, it doesn’t seem that long since GS moved into the flat, hope it sells quickly.

Daisy, I stopped hanging baskets a couple of years ago and I am going to reduce my pots after this year. I would like to find homes for my pots, I will advertise them on the local website, bit reluctant as I am not keen on strangers visiting, we don’t have frontage onto road. I think I will mention them to my WI and Games friends.

Oma, yes OH had a nice afternoon with the family here. She felt very spoilt she said
Tomorrow at golf I'm sure she will be bought a drink or cake in the clubhouse afterwards. Not sure if she wants us to eat out tomorrow night but but I hope so.

We need to get our pots and hanging baskets done before we go on holiday in June.

DD2 said GD went happily and calmly into her first GCSE exam today, so that's good news.
Also the GP said DD3 can start driving again, so more good news! She hasn't driven this year so will take it very carefully at first.

                        Good Monday afternoon, everyone.

Nanto, Pooh bear made me smile, although it's not an umbrella we need here this morning, it's a thick warm coat. A bit sunny, but so cold.

Gem, I hope you enjoyed aqua and your back is benefiting from it. Enjoy your evening with your friends.

Oma, I bet Storm will be very happy to stay for a couple of days. I'm not surprised GS wants to come home and the flat will sell easily - they did such a lovely job on it when GS moved in. I never expected my DS2 to come home again after uni, but he did. I haven't done a hanging basket for years, so it was a bit of an impulse buy. I will probably regret it!

Plant, I hope you get your pots finished, despite the weather. I can understand you not wanting strangers coming to the house for your pots. I hope you find homes for them among your friends.

I've had a lie in this morning and haven't done much - just a bit of ironing. If it warms up I'll do some gardening this afternoon.

Daisy, it is bitter cold here, feels like 4 degrees so I just read! We have had one shower and I was caught in it.

I made hanging baskets a few years. the problem here is the heat on the balcony, they dry out far too fast. I have plenty of pot plants, they usually survive the heat, especially the olive trees.

Oma, it will be easier for you all if MIL goes in assisted living, would she still need you to do shopping with her or do they cook for them?

GD2 has her first exam this afternoon Gem.

I hope that driving goes well for DD3.

The man in the office, sings with the shanty choir, was telling me that the man that had the heart attack last week, had a wife and 4 children, 2 are in care. The cremation is on Friday, the choir are going to sing at the service.

It was Mothers day here yesterday, DS 1 called in on his way home from taking his DW to the hotel in Amsterdam, that was his second journey yesterday, first taking GD1 to Schiphol. I got a gift card for Netflix for the winter months, I always get that, then my favourite Lindt chocolate 99%! DS2 phoned, they are all eating here for my birthday, not on my birthday as GD1 said not to celebrate whilst she is away, I told them to arrange it between them when they all can come, to let me know then I will do the shopping!

Lizzie, good luck to GD2 for her exams.
Glad you had a lovely Mothers Day.

We've got a few bits back in the bathroom, Bedooms are starting to look a bit tidier.

Oma, i bet Storm will love staying with you.

We will take her shopping and take her meals but the one we hope to get her in has a on site Cafe and hairdressers,
Plus twice a week they have entertainment and likes of fish&Chips suppers etc ,
She will have her own front door but intercom service she can use if she needs help .

It's more the fact she can have company if she wishes and she will be safe.
It will all be on one level too,
Her house has 3 flights of stone steps to get to and although she has a stair lift to get upstairs to the toilet and bed , she has had issues using that also.

                                Happy belated mother's day 💐

It's freezing here as well , the dog keeps going in and out, he can open the door but can't close it again 🙄
