    Good afternoon, everyone.

Nanto, I'm. sure your neighbours appreciated your OH's help, and it's lovely that they brought you homebaked rolls. One good turn deserves another.

Gem, as you say, lessons learned about putting things on the car roof. I'm hopeless with keys and in the interests of saving hassle have set routines now. If I'm putting things, even Eva, in the back of the car I put my keys on the floor of the boot in full view. I always put keys in my right hand pocket, my phone in my left. Otherwise I'd never find them. A drone would be the ideal thing to search for your phone. Have you asked on any of your local Whats App groups if anyone can help? I'd fondly imagined it was a quiet country lane someone could cycle along!

Enjoy your GD's dance show this afternoon. I'm sure your seats won't be a problem.

Oma, I hope you're enjoying a lovely family lunch to celebrate your anniversary. Happy birthday to your GD too. It's hard to believe she's a teenager - it doesn't seem 5 minutes since she started school.

It's a nice day here, so I'm going to do some gardening. We had an unexpected visitor this morning, so everything has got behind. OH has just made lunch!

Oma, Happy Anniversary and Happy Birthday to your GD.

Had a busy morning. We've been planting some things out in tubs.
Also had visits from 2 people.

      Weather today is lovely again.

Nanto, you would enjoy the rolls.

Gem, it must be well over 2o years ago I was at DS1 and he gave me a cable for the computer at the time, silly me put it on the roof of the car whilst opening the door, 5 kms and 5 roundabouts later I pulled here in the street, the cable was still there, how I do not know!! I was telling GS1 about you losing your phone, he said it will appear in the winter when all the grass, weeds etc have stopped growing. Not much use to you then though.

GD1 and her friend have just been on the scooter, he is a joiner, now and again I repair his work trousers, which he appreciates. I did them whilst they were waiting so he can wear them again. GD1 hung the ropes on the balcony that I use to pull the screen up when it was hot.

Apart from that I am having a lazy day, tired, it must be all I did last week that is tiring me.

It is the Kings birthday celebrations here tomorrow, in fact I think that WG is in Amsterdam for them.

Nanto, isn't it good to see plants in your garden tubs, just waiting for summer. You were busy with two lots of visitors.

Lizzie, it's amazing that the cable didn't fall off your car. If you're feeling tired a lazy day is in order.

I got quite a lot done this afternoon. After doing a bit of ironing, I finished deadheading several hydrangeas and a fuchsia, did some sweeping up, then took Eva for a good walk. With one thing and another we haven't had a proper walk on the Forest for several days so it was great to get out, and just right - warm with a slight breeze. Perfect. OH and I cooked dinner together. I had got lamb shanks with mint and rosemary. It's one of the few dishes I buy ready made - just 35 minutes in the oven, and always tender and tasty. It's definitely bed time now. I think all the fresh air has tired me out. OH has a blood test first thing tomorrow so we'll be out early again.

          Sleep well, everyone. xx

Daisy, sounds like you enjoyed your walk with Eva.
Hope all goes well with OH's appointment.
It was sweet peas and sunflowers we planted out. Don't know where the sunflowers were from , they arrived in the post one day.

Bathroom work continues today. Its the boss of the company that does the ceilings. Don't know what time he'll be here.

            Ah well, onwards and upwards.

              Good morning all.

Daisy we like those lamb shanks too. I hope traffic is not too bad this morning.

Lizzie will you be taking part in any celebrations for the King's birthday?

I hope you had lovely lunch Oma.

Nan2, it will soon be over!

We were SO proud of my GD in her dance show yesterday. If you could burst with pride I would have! She was in many dances with many costumes. We saw her afterwards for cuddle and congratulations. Grandpa was there too but not sitting near us. It turns out we both had a cry
It was after 6 when we headed home so we dropped into a pub with carvery for tea.

              This is a good morning.
All my DDs are heading off for a short break together. Our cat Moses was missing all night but has returned, shut in somewhere we guess. I finally got place in this mornings aqua class at 6 am AND..... my phone is back!!! This deserves a thread of its own which I will do later.

Aqua class this morning, and two friends are coming late afternoon for tea.
              I will be back!

Pleased to hear about the phone ,
Be interesting to learn how it was retrieved 😁
I hope the girls have good weather while they are awayxx

                    Nanto
On the last legs now with the bathroom
                    Are you pleased so far?

                    Daisy
Hope you had a good sleep and J is in and out this morning,
B loves lamb shank, I never eat it as you know I'm not a lover😁

Did you know you can eat the fuchsia berries when they have flowered?
I read it from a gardener last year they are not toxic to humans so I tried them.
                    They are lovely very sweet.

We had a really nice day yesterday
A lovely meal out and lots of chatter and laughs,

When I got home I went down to see my elderly neighbour,
Her son had her out yesterday choosing a home for her husband ,
It's supposed to be 6 weeks respite but I chatted with her DS on the phone and he thinks it will be permanent,
Robert has declined so much , he keeps falling and they have him sitting in a chair by the nurses station as he is wandering and doesn't know where he is,
I feel so sorry for them they are such a lovely couple ,
Chris has resigned herself I think to him possibly not coming home.
She is to frail and in ill health to look after him.

GS coming at 10 to help take all the packing and old kitchen doors to the tip,
We will get our garden back then 😁

Gem, love the photos of your GD.

Daisy, hope OH's appointment went ok.

Work has stopped. The main man got an emergency doctors appointment while he was here. So, that knocks things back by half a day. Won't be back till tomorrow morning.
Nothing we can do about it i know.
They've got the batons up ready.

                          Nanto
                          These things happen,
My side panels in the kitchen won't leave the factory in Ireland till Friday now so won't get them till Monday ,
The factory had a major power cut ,
As you say nothing you can do about it so just have to go with the flow.

I stripped the beds and got them in the wash,
The sun was shining and I hung them on the line ,
15 minutes later we were dashing out to get them in as the heavens opened πŸ™„

Put them in the tumble and 20 minutes later the sun was out again ,
                          Typical isn't it.

                            Good Monday afternoon everyone.

Nanto, what a pity your bathroom work has stopped for today, but the poor man no doubt needed that appointment. The end is still in sight, though. Sweet peas and sunflowers are both fabulous flowers. I don't have much success with sunflowers, and stopped growing sweetpeas when we got rid of the greenhouse, but I miss the scent of them.

Gem, being able to say "this is a good morning" is great. I do hope your DDs have a great few days together, and the sun shines for them every day. I wonder where Moses was all night. Did he seem happy to be home? Getting a place in the aqua class is another plus. I'm longing to know how you got your phone back. That's amazing.

Thank you so much for the lovely photos of your GD. Isn't she beautiful, and very graceful. No wonder you're bursting with pride. Isn't her hair pretty, too. She must be looking forward to taking up her place at College in September.

Enjoy seeing your friends this afternoon.

Oma, I'm glad you enjoyed your anniversary. I had no idea you could eat fuchsia berries. How sad for your neighbours. It must be particularly heartbreaking for Chris knowing she's not able to care for him. I hope the respite care is somewhere lovely where she can at least feel he's comfortable.

Yes, thank you. I slept very well, and woke up feeling fine. We only have to go to our local hospital for blood tests, and OH was in and out very quickly. He needed a reviving coffee afterwards though (two lots of needles in three days is a lot for him). We enjoyed really nice muffins as well! We stopped off at the garden centre for compost and some pretty supports and stem holders for my kitchen orchids and then on to DS2's. He has done an amazing job of cleaning OH's car for him. It was covered in green stuff, gunge of all sorts and generally looked a wreck. It's just been a victim of OH spending a long time looking after me and neither of us having the energy to get out with a bucket of water to clean it. It looks like new now. DS has spend two days working on it and it's sparkling. It's also prompted him to get a special brush for getting dog hairs out of the carpets. Who knew there was such a thing! The next job is the caravan. It's an ongoing problem with the huge horse chestnut tree right by our drive. At the moment all the sticky leaf casings get trodden in to the house and I'm constantly picking them up or hoovering.

Lizzie, I hope you are enjoying celebrations for the King's birthday? Is it his actual birthday or a nominated date?

We sat down and relaxed for a while after lunch, and I'm just off out to do some gardening. It's a beautiful day.

Hallo everyone, I haven't done anything special for the birthday celebrations, I tend to avoid crowds! It is his birthday today Daisy, he is 59 years old now.

I went to the gym then had a bike ride. Hoovered through in-between times.

DB2 has just phoned, he was having his eye done today for cataract, it has been postponed to next Thursday now.

Oma, it is sad when a partner gets taken into care, the same thing has happened to a couple opposite here, she has Parkinson , they couldn't cope at home anymore. I do think that she is in the village though, maybe temporary I am not sure.

Nanto, things like that happen, the work will get done, we may hear this next week when the meeting is about our renovations.

Gem. lovely photo's of your granddaughter.

Daisy, how nice of GS to clean the car for OH! Is it a plastic tufted brush for the dog hairs?
