Lizzie, what lovely photos - thank you for sharing them.

Nanto, I do hope it doesn't rain, unless the temperature rises a lot. It will be just like a skating rink if the rain freezes.

Oma, I was thinking the same as Gem about your DD. It sounds as though she's far too poorly to go into an office, and she would also be concerned about spreading the germs round, but working from home seems to make people think they have to keep going. I hope DD has had a better day today and things have gone smoothly. Poor Dorothy. An accident really takes its toll - shock plus thinking what might have happened as well as the physical shaking up and injuries. I hope she's feeling a bit better now, and James is ok, too. I bet you can't wait to get your new fridge freezer.

Gem, I'm glad OH didn't get cold out on the golf course. The library sounds cosy and warm.

We've had another fairly lazy day. OH is still not very well, but better some days than others. I've felt quite tired today. I got cold and couldn't get warm again. I even did some ironing to warm up a bit! I took Eva out just before it went dark. It seems to take ages to get us ready in this weather - warm trousers for me and a warm coat, plus a fleece or down coat for Eva. The down one is easy to put on her, but doesn't keep her hind quarters as protected as the fleece, which is very cosy.

        Good morning ladies.

Never fun Nan2, but at least its over early in the day and hopefully all will be well.

Daisy, I hope your OH feels better soon these things drag on, and with your treatments it must be hard I know xxx

Aquafit this morning, and coffee afterwards hopefully. It is OH's monthly hospital treatment this afternoon. When its just the nurse treatment and no consultant appointment I have to just wait in the waiting room and read my Kindle.
It looks very cold out again, I shall be defrosting my car!

Gem, you wouldn't even find your car here. They are all buried under the snow.

            Morning ladies

            Nanto
Hopefully your not long at the check up and all is well, good luck 🤞

            Gem
I hope the waiting room is warm ,
I hated if I had to sit around in a draughty waiting room,
A good book helps pass the time though,

            Lizzie
That snow must be deep ,
The children love it don't they 😁

It's very cold and the snow is melting but now all the slush has turned to ice so very slippy out ,

I need to go for fresh bread and toasty bread ,
I like Hovis seeded for toast

But apart from that we have no plans,
SIL is picking the wardrobe up from IKEA this morning I think,
DD was going to go with him but she's not feeling the best,
It's her day off so she said she's snuggling on the sofa with her book.

Morning, it is deep Oma, with blizzards. I have walked to the village, I use my Nordic Poles, much better, I get the idea I am skiing again.

The main road through the village is like an ice rink, I had to cross it, one very nice young man put his bags down, gave me his arm and helped me across!! Am I that old. It was a huge help though, very good of him.

                  Good Wednesday morning everyone.

Nanto, I hope you're back home now and your check up went well. They're not pleasant, but hopefully that's another one over and done with.

Gem, I hope OH's treatment goes smoothly this afternoon. You just never know how long you'll be waiting around, so I hope you've got a good book handy. How was your Aqua class? I bet a warm cup of coffee is very welcome afterwards.

Lizzie, you're certainly getting the worst of the weather, but how kind of the gentleman to help you across that icy road. I don't think people who help like that necessarily think we're old, but I'm sure you were walking fairly cautiously, and it was very thoughtful of him. I hope the weather eases up for you soon.

Oma, it sounds like a day to stay snug and warm at home. Thank goodness your DD is finally having a day of rest. It will be nice to get your new wardrobe, and kind of your SIL to collect it for you. How is Dorothy? Have you heard?

We had rain overnight, then it froze. The roads in the village are like skating rinks, and there was an accident on a stretch of Forest road we call Ten Bends. I hope it wasn't serious, but it's a route a lot of students use into the village and it's often the first time they've driven in icy conditions.

I've had a lazy morning, and just had a chat with DS2. It's his and DIL2's last day at home, and both the girls are back in school now. DIL is busy doing some paint pouring, and enjoying a bit of time to herself.

I might do some housework after lunch - I'll see how I feel.

Dorothy is feeling stiff and sore but otherwise ok today, thank you for asking .

I hope there wasn't casualties in the accident and it was just the cars damaged,
I always say you can replace a car can't you as long as your alright .

It's raining so we hope it washes the ice away ,
Typical though our window cleaner came yesterday 🙄

Oma, what a relief that Dorothy is on the mend. I was worried about her getting that cold. I'm sure window cleaners have second sight when it comes to doing the windows the day before it pours with rain. I haven't heard what happened in the 10 Bends accident, but it was cleared by mid-morning, so fingers crossed it was just cars damaged. I agree, you can replace cars, but not people.

Did the rain wash the ice away?

I've had a busy afternoon. I cleaned some windows I'd been meaning to do before OH was ill. Then I made a cottage pie for dinner, then took Eva out for a walk. OH was feeling a bit better so he cleaned our bedroom and hoovered the landing. He's exhausted now though, and so am I. It wasn't quite as cold, and there was no ice on the pavements, thank goodness.

Nanto, something just reminded me that your OH had a new phone for Christmas. How is he getting on with it?

He will come across something on the phone, and i have to sort it.

This cold seems to be waring people out for weeks isn't it,

Well today didn't quite as planned.

We got out of the hospital by about 2, and went to the farm shop for a late lunch on the way home, which was very nice.

On the way home I had a phone call from DD3. They had cut short their holiday in the Dales to come back for an emergency GP appointment. DD's leg which had been painful was now swollen. GP sent her straight to the hospital.

SIL dropped her off and brought little E to us then went back to be with DD. That was many hours ago and she is still there. They are awaiting the results of several tests. They think it may be cellulitis, some other nurse casually mentioned a previous blood result pointing to possible rheumatoid arthritis. DD who suffers quite severely with health anxiety anyway is a state as you can imagine. We are trying to persuade her not to worry, panic or spiral as she would put it.

I clearly remember a nurse casually mentioning sepsis to me when my mum broke her hip. She didn't have it.
DD has had a lot of back, leg and foot pain for weeks , had appointments and see an osteopath. We don't know if this is connected.

Little E is safely and happily tucked up in bed here. SIL will come here at some point and hopefully DD.

I know how you feel. My OH is still getting used to his phone, which is no longer new. The trouble is, it's nothing like mine, so sometimes I just can't sort the problem out for him.

Oma, yes, thank goodness for the rain. I'm not good in cold weather any time, but at the moment it's really awful.
