Daisy, I have made parsnip and apple soup in the past, it's nice!

Clover, I hope you soon warmed up.

That's right Oma, all or nothing with Christmas invites! We were quite prepared and happy to spend the day here on our own as we will see everyone on both 23rd and 26th. Then as you know we were invited to two houses DDs for Christmas Day a couple of days apart.
I hope you have had a nice day. It has been fine and quite mild at least.

The temporary post office in the library in very busy now! We have to work around all those queuing customers!

      Crossed again Oma!

Uber and evening meal in the hotel are great ideas. You are on holiday, make things as easy as you can

Clover, I had a picture in my head of the wind blowing in off the sea and waves 20 foot high, trees blowing over and all sorts of damage. I'm glad it wasn't quite that bad, although you must have been cold in all that rain.

Gem, we enjoyed the parsnip and apple soup! It's good to hear your temporary post office is busy, but no doubt the queues will continue to be long up to Christmas.

Oma, you've had a good day, and getting an uber was the best thing to do. Enjoy your evening in the hotel to restore your energy for tomorrow.

It was lovely and mild today we didn't need hats or gloves ,
Market was very busy as expected.

We went for our meal and I wasn't really hungry,
B had Tapas and I just had a starter soup as a main,
It was carrot and ginger, now I'm not a carrot lover so didn't expect much but it was delicious,
Just the right amount of ginger to give it a kick, I would definitely eat it again.

I did have to ask the servers to move a large vase of lillies,
when we walked in I could smell them and said to B if they can't move them I can't stay ,
But the young girl was lovely and took them out instantly,
She said her oldest sister was the same so she understood.

Oma, what a lovely day you had.We like the Christmas market in York.Been a few times.
We liked the Lincoln Christmas market as well. They don't have it now for safety reasons.
They only had it for 3 days and it did get very crowded.
Its a shame they couldn't have run for longer, then maybe it would,t have got so crowded every day.

I enjoyed it in town, got hubby's Black Magic chocolates.

            Thanks Gem for the newsletter.

Good morning Nan2 and everyone else.

                Safe journey home today Oma.

I forgot to say that we are reconnected! That neighbour had to take a section of his fence down for them to get to the cable. Our Ring doorbell is still disconnected but we think it maybe needs recharging so will look at that today.
Aqua this morning, then I will pop into M&S for blueberries, and Asda for petrol. Tesco delivery later. Other than that no plans today.
I got all my Christmas cards written and addressed yesterday. I think little E and I may go to the library tomorrow so I can post the cards at the same time.

                Happy Wednesday ladies.

                Don't forget the advent calendar!

Morning ladies we are home ,
We had breakfast then started home straight away,
Roads were quiet but most of. The way was thick fog,
It started to lift as we got nearer home.

B was laughing this morning as I told him what you said about not having to do as much housework as we were meeting at the restaurant 🤣🤣

                  Washing on and case unpacked,
We are resting with a cupper ,
Have to go for Bs new glasses at 3 then to the hospital ,
I need to go. Into. Sainsbury's to get MIL a strawberry trifle and some sweets.

Thanks for the news letter Gem.
You won't know yourself being reconnected now😁

                  Nanto
Hope hubby can make a start on your shoe rack and the weather is fine enough, or will he make it in the garage?

Spoke to Finn last night , one excited little boy who didn't want to go to bed incase they missed the flight 🤣

                    Good Wednesday morning, everyone.

Nanto, mid-week already. Time seems to fly. Glad to hear your hubby can enjoy his Black Magic over Christmas.

Oma, what a lovely day yesterday. Sometimes things just go right, don't they. Safe journey home today.

Gem, thank goodness you're reconnected. We usually forget to put our Ring doorbell on charge - it's easily done. I hope aqua has gone well. I haven't started my Christmas cards yet, but will make a start this week. Little E will enjoy going to the library and helping you to post your cards.

I spent all day yesterday waiting for the Consultant to phone. The call was due at 1.30 Sometimes they are early, but more usually late. So I feel I can't stray far from the phone. Even though I ask them to use my mobile they often ring the landline. I was still waiting when I started to post on here just before 6 pm yesterday, and then the phone went! Everything seems to be ok - to be honest I was tired just from hanging about not wanting to start any jobs, so I didn't ask questions. A bit of a waste of time really.

                      Welcome home Oma.
Hubby has started on the shoerack. he's been doing it outside in the sunshine.
He'll carry on with it tomorrow.
I'm glad he's got something to do,because if he hasn't, he's like a bear with a sore head.

                      Gem, glad you are reconnected.

Daisy, pleased everything seems to be ok.

Aww Finn will love that Oma. And his mum and dad

Yes, I was saved a lot of housework due to B preferring not to come to ours because of the cats

Daisy how frustrating waiting so long for the consultant call yesterday.

Good that your OH has something to keep him occupied Nan2.

Oma, our posts crossed this morning. I'm glad you're home safely and hopefully you're feeling better after some rest and a change of scene. Are B's new glasses ok? I hope MIL was feeling ok, and enjoyed the goodies. I bet Finn was awake in good time for their flight. He will have such an amazing time.

Nanto, did your OH's shoe rack made good progress. He was lucky to be able to work outside at this time of year. My OH likes to keep busy as well, but he's got dozens of jobs in the pipeline. The list seems to keep growing. He's got the wood ready to fix the bottom of the doors of the summerhouse, which are held together with gaffa tape! But he moved it to get to something else and forgot to put it back in his shed. So now we've got to wait for it to dry out. But he's got lots of other jobs to be getting on with.

Gem, sometimes it's good to have visitors. It makes me get on with long overdue housework! But it's not great for B to be around the cats.

Plant, I hope you're ok. I think you were waiting for some test results?

OH spent today with his car buddies. They're working on a very old Crossley belonging to one of them. The owner is a "let's just get it done" sort, but OH and the other chap are "let's take it carefully and make sure we get it right" types. I think it's slow progress!

I think hubby will be working on the shoerack again. He'll probably have to work in the shed though.
I think rain is forecast for today.

DS2 and DIL will be back from Rome sometime today.

                              Good morning ladies.

Is the shoe rack going to be wall mounted Nan2? Wet here too.

Daisy, I was hoping Plant was Ok too. Hopefully busy, or maybe connection problems again.

Little E day, we will go to the library at some point. He can help me post our cards in the post office there, and we will probably go into the cafe.
Golf for OH, unless rained off. Golf Christmas dinner for OH tonight. I have moussaka ready meal to eat and will watch a film. I may even wrap some Christmas presents!

                              I hope everyone is well.

Little E will love being able to help post the cards , will you have lunch in the cafe?

B's glasses are very nice ,
MIL was in fine form but there is flu on the ward yet again so we had to wear masks and it's difficult for her to hear,
so we were shouting a lot.
Finn has already had a ride on the reindeer 😁

As long as the boys are enjoying sorting the car I don't suppose it matters how long it takes,😁

We have the dog today DD away with work , SIL is in the shop and GS Traveling home from uni today .

I have started to put my decorations up today ,
I will do the tree tomorrow when we haven't got Storm.

I have a big Christmas snow globe it's about the size of a football, I have had it years a lovely white snow scene,
Well B managed to drop it on the kitchen floor while unpacking it this morning ,
Liquide , glitter, fine glass everywhere,
                                Even under the freezer,
Had to use a full roll of kitchen paper, then the mop and half a loaf of bread to get the glass up,
                                Then a good hoover,
Couldn't take the chance of Storm getting any in his paws.

He felt awful as it was my prized possession as he calls it,

But accidents happen it's not the end of Christmas is it 😁
