Daisy, I prescribe reading, painting or TV watching today
I'm glad your OH had a better night.

Lizzie, it's so hard for anyone to get onto the property ladder nowadays isn't it?

Are both feeling a lot better now Oma?

We have invited a friend over for lunch tomorrow as we are confined to barracks!

      Lizzie
Its awful everywhere for housing , not meaning to sound horrible here but we have so many coming into our countries that no where can cope with the demand ,
Something has to be done ,
B has a friend who is retiring from the Army soon they have been looking for two years and still haven't found accommodation,
It looks like they will be moving in with his elderly parents, thankfully there two boys have flown the nest so don't have to worry about them.

      Daisy
Pleased J is feeling better, we are so much better apart from the cough waking us both ,
I'm slowly getting some energy back and tackling jobs a little at a time.

We have a neighbour who has a cat run in her garden ,
It's like a huge mesh cage attached to the back of her house it has branches and sleeping areas in it ,
The cats love it she has a cat flap in the back door so they can come and go.its high enough for them to see over the fence
It sounds awfully ugly but it's actually very neat.

      Gem
I meant to ask were the kittens ok during the night , did you separate them ?

Man came fixed tumble door didn't do much to be honest and said it could happen again,
      Well that's good to know

Im not fat just 6ft too small

That is true Oma, it is the same here, only, the price of houses for sale is stupid!!! 12 years ago a few of these apartments for sold for €110,000, the asking price is now €500,000! hardly any houses under that price here. Ridiculous!

Oma, those cat runs are very popular here! I have seen them on balconies as well.

Oma and Lizzie, those are known as catios I think.

We didn't separate them in the night. Every time one of us went to the loo in the night Moses was there craving attention. I think he was missing company with Poppy being out of action, and probably hungry !
I popped downstairs at 4.30 and gave them a pre breakfast

Gemini, I hope Poppy will be up to playing with Moses soon.

Oma, The prices of houses around here are now out of reach for anyone wanting to move into this area unless they are a high wage earner. They are building on every scrap of land. Fortunately we have quite a lot of protected woodland. Not much hope for my GD1 and youngest GS. That is not fair that someone who has served in the forces for some years is not able to get a rented house or be able to buy one with a loan from the government.

Daisy, pleased to hear OH is showing signs of getting rid of the virus. He will need time to build up some strength.

I shall be watching the rugby this afternoon, it will soon be kick-off. Come on England!!!!

Plant, it's the same here. You expect a National Park to be expensive place to buy a house, but the towns and villages that aren't inside the NP are also sky high. Our area was featured in Escape to the Country one day this week, but none of the houses was actually within the NP. I didn't see it, but OH said the house hunters wouldn't get much for their money. There's talk of a largish development just over the border in the next county - on a known floodplain. Land is so scarce.

OH is slowly getting better. He's not coughing as much and is sleeping better but still feels washed out. It's a bit of an understatement to say he's a bit disappointed about the Rugby 6 Nations! I haven't mentioned it - it could seriously undermine his recovery.

I've just got back from walking Eva - it was cold, damp, dark, dreary and utterly miserable. But I saw at least 6 other people out with their dogs. We must be mad!

                Enjoyed our day in Wakefield.
Weatherwise,it was cold, dark grey and miserable.

Daisy, glad J seems to be getting a bit better each day.

                  Good morning.
Hope it's a better day weather wise.

Dishwasher is on, cleaned the toaster and descaled the kettle.
                  Got some ironing to do.

I've taken some slices of roast beef out of the freezer, i'll ldo some cheesy mash, mixed veg, and probably have a Yorkshire pudding with it.

                    Good morning everyone.

Nan2 you have already got a good start on the day

Kittens seem fine . Poppy doing a bit more jumping and climbing than I am happy with! She is being more cautious though, and we have removed the big cat tree/climbing frame for the time being. Her appetite is less, but it's smaller than her brother's anyway, and she is eating.

We have invited a friend round for a roast dinner. We will have roast pork, at around 2.

                    Happy Sunday everyone.

                      Morning ladies
                      Nanto
We have slices of beef and gammon in the freezer ,
When we have a better appetite we were saying we would do veg and a Yorkshire pudding with some ,
A quick meal , I already have some Cavolo Nero frozen and carrot and swede mash so wouldn't take long to whip up a bit of gravy to go with it 😄

                      Gem
Hopefully Poppy only stretches herself to her own limit, I think if it hurts she will stop,
They recover remarkably well unlike humans 😀
What are you having for your roast? I hope your friends enjoy it , I'm sure they will it's always nice when someone else cooks.

                      Daisy
Pleased J coughing less but it does linger, ours is still troubling both of us during the night ,
4 am mine started and it wouldn't stop for what felt ages ,
It was probably only a couple of minutes but seemed forever.
That's the thing with dogs no matter what the weather you have to go out.
DD walked over with Storm yesterday, I rang to tell her not too but by that time she was at the bottom of our street,
The rain doesn't bother her as long as she's wrapped up,
Storm was soaking so had to get a good towel dry in the hall way then he had a good shake😁

It's another dark wet day ,
I want to get in the garden and sort the pots with the spring bulbs , they winter behind the shed but with feeling poorly and awful weather they just haven't been brought out .
It's too wet to do them today again.

                        Good Sunday morning everyone.

Nanto, you were busy early this morning! Still, it gets jobs out of the way, doesn't it. I wish my kitchen looked that tidy.

Gem, I'm pleased to hear the kittens are doing well. I think cats are more sensible about pacing themselves than dogs, but taking the big cat tree away for a while is a good idea. Perhaps she feels a bit sore inside which is making her eat less. Enjoy your roast dinner with your friend.

It was frosty overnight and very cold first things, but the sun's out now, and I hope it will warm up a bit. I seem to have been busy without achieving much so far today! OH had a good night, and I slept vry well - I was tired yesterday, but the miserable weather doesn't help does it!

No plans for today except run the sucky up thing round upstairs when OH is up. I treated myself to some new half pan watercolours and some brushes last week, so I'd like to try them out if I can make some time.

Oma we are having pork, then a ( shop bought) sticky toffee pudding.
This friend is my aqua friend and originally one of OH's golf friends. She's 10 years older than us and is a widow. Her family live in London and France so I know she really appreciates the meals and company she has with us.

I hope you find painting time Daisy.

Gem, lovely of you both to invite your friend round for a meal.
Glad the kittens are doing well.

Oma, its lovely to see the spring flowers. Snowdrops are in full flower.
The daffodils are showing their buds.

Its another grey dismal day here. Perfect weather for getting inside jobs done.
Cleaned the dishwasher after i unloaded it. Ironing done.
Washed a load of towels and dusting and hoovering.

Gem, did your friend enjoy her roast pork and sticky toffee pudding? I think most people living in their own don't cook roast dinners for themselves. I know I wouldn't.

Nanto, how lovely to see the snowdrops out. There are few daffodils in flower in a grass verge near us. They're always early. You've certainly been a busy bee.

I ended up doing nothing much today. I cooked for lunch-time - just a casserole - and will make a snack/sandwich for tea. We ended up having a lazy afternoon watching tv, before I took Eva out for a walk. It was sunny this morning, but dull and dismal this afternoon. Everyone seems fed up with the winter now.

Spent the afternoon at a play place with climbing frames etc. with GD and Harriet. We bumped into GS1’s wife and her DD (my Gt. GD) they were there for a party. Absolutely frozen when we got back, the children get so hot running around and climbing but not the Gm’s watching. GD1’s OH is unwell so she asked me to go with her and H.

Oma, We have a few snowdrops flowering, I need a warmer day so I can walk around the garden and see what is peeping through. Are your bluebells showing?

Gemini, pleased to hear the kitties are recovering from their ops. Sounds like a nice meal you kindly cooked for your friend.

Nanto Grey, dismal day here too, now I am back from my outing I wish I had an open fire.

Daisy, pleased to hear your OH has turned the corner and had a good sleep. Enjoy using your new paints. I had a go at painting on glass. Not very successful, I think it would be more successful with pens rather than inks. I go to a friend’s art/craft group once a month.
