I hope Eva enjoys dog training 😁

    Plant

Plant, all those cakes - yummy. I'm on my way over to rescue you from cake-overdose! You've got a lovely family who obviously care very much about you.

Wee granny, I'm so sad for y our friend. But I hope they have a very happy wedding day today, even though it's not as they had planned. There seems to be an awful lot of repetitive paperwork around any contact with hospitals these days.

Oma, good news that all your bloods etc were spot on. I hope the locum can help with your back pain.

I think the girls will go home Thursday night - not sure what they have on on Friday.

Went to Dr , very nice man but all he gave me was co- codomol , Ibrufen gel and took a photo from the internet on his phone for exercises and sent it to my phone.
Said do them laying on the bed , I said I can’t lie on the bed , well in the bath , I don’t have a bath, we’ll do them on the floor.
If I can’t get on the bed I have no blooming chance of getting on the floor 🙄🤣

        Hopefully the stronger painkillers help.
Still no idea what it is but after her pulled and pushed on my leg and hip I could hardly get to the car 😱

Oma, I wonder sometimes if doctors actually listen to the patient. I'm sure you said you're not sleeping and lying down isn't possible, so to suggest getting in and out of a bath (assuming you have one) or lying on the floor is just plain silly. Still, I hope the co-codomol and Ibruprofen gel both help.

Dog training was interesting today. There were 7 dogs there, so quite busy, and Eva behaved really well despite one dog almost bumping into her when she was lying on her bed, and another one giving her good sniff as he passed behind her! But we got to flyball and twice she broke her "sit" command. She wasn't the only one though and I think Eva and this other dog were eyeballing each other - with Eva the main culprit.

Oma, hope the blood results were good.

WG, how sad about your friend. Hope the appointment goes well tomorrow.

Daisy, i always think corned beef is very versatile. I alway like to keep some tins in the fridge.

            Gem, pleased GS is ok.

Plant, sounds like it was a busy birthday for you yesterday.

This morning, i tackled an upstairs cupboard. Its been niggling me for a while.
Sorted now and i'm happy with it.

Not been too good weatherwise. Its been cloudy all day, and cooler than the past few days.
            At least its been dry.

Hope all those feeling under the weather, feel better soon.

No plans for us, will take the day as it comes.

Dinner is homemade mince hotpot with cabbage and carrots.

                Good morning everyone.

                Nice warming dinner Nan2.

Oma, it seems a common story with back and associated pain sadly, painkillers and few exercises When I had the debilitating sciatica and piriformis syndrome (I struggled to even stand through Mum's funeral) I didn't even go to Dr, I had no faith anyone would help me. Good news about the bloods at least. I hope things soon feel easier for you xx

                WG, how are you doing?

Maybe Eva was a bit suspicious of that dog Daisy?

Plant, too many cakes is better than no cake

GS1 and DD came over after tea for a while, as he wanted to see me and talk about his hospital experience! They were told that there had been lots of gunk behind both eardrums. He is finding some sounds too much now. OH and I both explained about the brain having to adjust to normal hearing. OH and my mum were both told this when they first got hearing aids.

Little GS3 day today. We are going to the library this morning, and we will be At Home to early Trick or Treaters. OH and I are invited out to friends for a meal tonight.

                Everyone!

                  Morning ladies.

                  Nanto
We have a lovely sunny morning a bit chilly though .
Isnt it a good feeling when something has been niggling you and you finally sort it 😁

                  Gem
E will find lots of noises very loud for a while till his ears adjust bless him.
enjoy your meal out tonight xx

B got all the Halloween decorations down from the loft,
I usually have them all out by now but I haven’t had the energy or been able too.
He is going to put them out where I want them this morning ,
He has to go to his mams to put her bin out and take some food then he sees the Kidney specialist at 2 so won’t have much time when he comes back .
I will do what I can but it won’t be much.

                    Good Hallowe'en morning, everyone.

Two lovely graphics, this morning - I feel spoilt. xx

Nanto, enjoy your easy-going day and your hot pot.

Gem, I'm sure GS1 will feel the world is a different place once he adjusts to his new hearing levels. It will make life so much easier for him, I'm sure. Fingers crossed that this is the start of everything improving for him.

Gem, I hadn't thought of Eva being suspicious of the other dog. They're not usually wary of each other, but he had both his mum and his gran with him yesterday, so there may have been subtle differences in their body language. He is the most handsome flat-coated retriever I've ever seen.

I hope all those with aches and pains have had a good night and feel a bit better today.

I'm off to collect our GDs soon, and DIL1 is coming down to join us for lunch. So I'd best get a move on.

You lovely kind ladies thinking about me. The main reason I haven’t posted much this week is not just from being miserable with the pain but because DD is away and I have spent time with GD’s and H. I haven’t been taking painkillers as I sleep okay but I was playing Rummycub with a dentist yesterday and he advised me to carry on taking painkillers when needed instead of putting up with the pain and collapsing in a chair to relieve it. So I am taking his advice.

Daisy are you staying in an hotel or with friends in Chester, love Chester. I presume Eva is going with you?

Oma, I hope you are in less pain and managing to get some sleep.

Nanto, your GD’s keep you busy, they are such lucky girls.

Nanto, I haven’t eaten beef for such a long time, cooking for one isn’t the same as cooking a lovely beef roast.

Gemini, The Library committee must rely on you a lot. Do you like having a bit of time to yourself?

Lots happening here atm I will post something in private.

Plant, when I had my knee surgery that was the advice all the medical staff gave
Once you get home take the painkillers regularly to keep on top of the pain, don't wait until it's bad.

I love to be busy, but I do love time to myself. Now the GC are getting older and of course I no longer have mum, I have a good balance of busy and free time - most weeks!

GS and I made a colourful witch at the library as it was a Halloween craft morning.
A bit of Bing on TV now before lunch.

Well we have had a lovely turn out of little ones trick or treating tonight,
Such clever costumes , one little lad came as a Taco 😁😁 wish I could of taken a photo but that’s not acceptable these days.

Its past 8 now we won’t get any more I don’t think , B will wait till about 9 then take the decorations down.

Apart from being in pain getting up and down it’s been lovely .

Oma, hopefully having the little trick or treaters coming to the door has taken you mind off the pain a bit, even though getting up isn't easy.

It seems there are a lot of different opinions in the medical profession about managing pain. You end up not knowing what to do for the best.

Gem, you have got a good balance of having time with your GSs (it's probably harder to spend time with GD now she's older) and doing fun things and having free time.

Plant, I'm sorry if I've confused you over Chester. We took the caravan up to Ellesmere Port (near Chester) in September for two weeks. The first week was a total write off because of the weather - torrential, non-stop rain, floods, everything! The second week we got together with various members of the family in North Wales and friends in Stoke-on-Trent. Chester is a nice half-way place between them, and I used to work there when we lived in North Wales and on the Wirral. We've done this trip before and it is far enough to tow the caravan in one day, and having family and friends so close is lovely. Eva always comes with us unless we take the GDs.

Good morning. It's breezy this morning.

Oma, glad you enjoyed the trick and treaters.

DS2 and DIL are on their way to Spain.
I don't think they will be near where the floods are.

I'm going to clean the downstairs windows this morning. Did upstairs windows yesterday.

No cooking, we are having fish and chips today.

                              Have a good day ladies.

                                Good morning everyone.

Fish and chips, good choice Nan2.

Daisy, are the GDs still with you? I can't remember if you said they were staying over.

Oma, we had some cute little Trick or Treaters too. If we hadn't been going out for tea, so bringing the pumpkin etc in we would have had to anyway as we almost ran out of sweets! Several groups of 2 or the families at a time arrived so that soon uses up the treats!
We had tea out at our friends and played Rummikib, which I know Plant plays. Once I got the hang of it I enjoyed it. I may put a set on our Christmas list.

Free day today, as we had GS2 on Tuesday this week. We need some shopping (including kitten food and litter!)
We also plan to catch the bus into town and use one of our Betty's vouchers. We have a few vouchers for several places to be used in the next few months, and thought we would use the Betty's one today.

I hope everyone is well today, and aches and pains easing.
