    Morning Nanto/ ladies.

    Nanto
We rarely eat burgers I’m not a fan but I do like home made ones with mash peas and gravy .

    WG
Hope the physio can help in some way,
Just as well DD took a chair ,
a football match is far to long to be standing when your not in pain never mind when you are.

    Daisy
Hope you slept well and not to achy after all that gardening and digging yesterday.

    Gem
Isnt it nice when the grandchildren have missed you 😁 you know you are loved ❤️

    Clover
How are you doing ? Xx

    Lizzie
Did you get your sewing done, was the light ok for you?

Waiting for boiler man the heating has gone off again , we think it’s the fan but knowing nothing about it it could be anything,

GSs went off last week and DDs went off on Saturday so there’s all of us had trouble 🙄

Had a bit trouble washing my hair this morning , I like to bend forward while I’m rinsing it but my back was saying otherwise,
putting my underwear on was interesting , had to sit on the loo to put my legs in my knickers 🤣

Felt as decrepit as MIL 🤣

Good Monday morning, everyone. It's raining here, but the cloud wasn't too thick and there was a pretty sunrise.

WG, It must be so frustrating for you being in pain and not able to do the things you want to do. Taking a seat to the match was a good idea, but then you get cold because you're not moving. The car came in very useful. Take it easy and don't push yourself too hard. You'll need your strength for recovery after your op. I hope the physio can give you some advice today. xxx

      Enfys, how are you today?

Gem, enjoy your aqua class and coffee this afternoon. Your GS3 is such a sweetheart, and it must be lovely to have video calls with him. Is he getting very chatty? I bet OH was glad to get the hedge trimmed - you just have to do jobs outside as and when you can at this time of the year.

Nanto, it's definitely "pumpkin season" - a timely graphic. Our parish magazine had pumpkins on the cover in September, which I thought was a bit early. We usually do them with the GDs during half term, which will soon be here. Time flies. I'm not keen on beefburgers, but do make them occasionally. I keep some shop=bought ones in the freezer during the summer months for the barbecue but our barbecue hasn't seen light of day this summer.

Oma, I hope your DD's FIL is ok. It must have been a nasty shock for the whole family. I can understand why your MIL wasn't happy with the bed-making. It sounds as though the carer had forgotten to finish doing it. It's good to know MIL is getting meals out ready to eat, and I hope you got Brownie points for the trifle. I hope it's nothing serious with your boiler. Take it easy with your poorly back. xx

Plant, how are you today? Where did GS2 sleep last night? I hope he has a good journey back today.

Lizzie, are you knees feeling better after going to the gym yesterday? Bite allergies are frightening, and hard to avoid sometimes.

I slept well last night - although I didn't get the early night I'd planned. Still, I was pleased we'd got all the planting done yesterday. I need to catch up on washing and ironing today, although there's not much chance of drying outside.

I'll have a chat with DIL1 today and I'll pass on all your kind messages. Thank you so much.

Good morning, it is lovely here, 18 degrees and very sunny! I have been to do the coffee, first I forgot to put the coffee pot on the plate, all the coffee was on the floor! One of the men even went on his knees for me to clean it up. Then whilst getting up off the very low toilet, I twisted my knee! The pain is easing so I hope I can manage aqua.

Oma, I hope the friend is fine, can his wife drive although I doubt it.

WG. we must all be getting the joint pain!

Nanto, when do you go away?

I got the sewing done yesterday Oma, the light wasn't bad, I have just been to the library and got a pattern book for the next pair of trousers and maybe a jacket for myself. I will get the pattern paper tomorrow to get the patterns made,

Very slow today, woke up late. All of my DD and Sil’s family were here yesterday, what a houseful! It had been a time since I saw the baby and boy had he grown. GS2 played with the children before he returned to London. I then had a Face Time call from my GS3 in the evening (the young man some of you met in Birmingham) He loves living in London and is planning a trip to America.

WG, Good advice from DD to take a chair to watch GS play football.

Oma, So sorry to hear about your friend, is that your Sil’s father? Pleased the trifle put a smile on her face. How is her hair?

Talking of bed making, I must say that my GD1 is a great bed maker. It looks so inviting when she has changed the bedding.

I didn't think today was going to turn out as nice as it has.
Sun is shining and feeling mild.
            Dried the washing lovely.

Daisy, i'm not surprised your BBQ hasn't seen the light of day this year.

Well, we’ve had all sorts of weather here…heavy rain, black skies and lovely sunshine! It really couldn’t make its mind up. I spent some time making a batch of soup for the freezer, had some veg that needed using up so that was a good job done.

Not too bad, Daisy thank you, Just wish I could sleep better and that this cough would go away. Still got a big lump and bruise on my cheek but slowly improving. I’m better since I told myself not to rush things and take it s l o w!

Plant yes my SILs father our close friends,

MILs hair is back to its curls thankfully.
I bet you felt tired after all the family being there, no need to hurry getting up is there , enjoy a lie in it won’t do any harm 😁

                Lizzie
no his wife doesn’t drive , even if she did she couldn’t with her legs and back.

Boiler man came out the boiler is on its last legs so getting a new one fitted next week.
We knew it needed changing the past few winters we have had lots of trouble.

                Went to M&S this afternoon,
Bumped into our old neighbours from our old house, our boys grew up together and went to school together,
They have 8 children plus partners and 18 grandchildren, , we were laughing about how Christmas in their house is a nightmare ,
they start buying in June but now they are retired they have cut down on what they buy ,
I think if I had that many it would be a token box of chocolates for the grown ups and small gifts for the children,😱😁

Crikey, its a warm evening. We have had to turn the heating off,it was so warm.
For me to say its warm, it must be warm.

                  Oma, how is SIL's dad.

Just popping in to say goodnight!
I did aqua, stayed for coffee with 2 friends, then went out again in the afternoon to meet my friend for tea and cake and a good chat.

I made lamb meatballs for tea, a bit cobbled together with no recipe but OH seemed to like them

My foot is still red and hot and itchy, though I do think it may have started to improve. I took a photo so I can check.
I read that if you have a severe local reaction like this it often peaks at 48 hours. That would be this early evening , so fingers crossed!

                    Night everyone, sleep well.

Our weather today has been like Enfys's. More April than October, but quite mild.

Oma, best to get that boiler changed now before winter sets in - you certainly don't want to be without heating when it's cold. It must have been a nice surprise to bump into your old neighbours when you were shopping. They certainly need a very large table for Christmas dinner, and no wonder they spread the cost over 6 months. If my family was that big I'd try and persuade the adults to do Secret Santa, and only buy for the little ones. It's going to be difficult for SIL's parents with J not being able to drive for a few weeks.

Nanto, the weather it getting you into the holiday mood. Still, we've had such awful weather, any sun or warmth is a real treat. We haven't even been tempted to get the barbecue out, and the table and chairs are still covered over from last winter.

Enfys, are you taking anything for your cough? I can't take any kind of cough medicines but I find about 3 teaspoons of honey stirred into a mug of warm/hot water helps - just taking little sips regularly throughout the day. It's not a miracle cure but over a week or so is does seem to help. I love having soup in the freezer - it's such a good standby, and very healthy.

Lizzie, oh how awful, the coffee ending up on the floor. What a kind man, helping you to clear it up. How is your poor knee? Did you manage to do aqua? Your sewing machine's going to be busy. How is the work on the lift going?

Plant, what a busy day, but I bet the children all loved it. I'm so pleased to hear your GS3 is enjoying living in London - he's such a lovely young man. I think a neatly made bed is one of life's pleasures. Has GD1 worked in a hotel at any time? They always seem to be good bed-makers, as do nurses.

I've had my Mrs Mop cap on today and done loads of housework. It seems as fast as I finish at one end of the house the other end needs some TLC again. Still, it's all done now! Until tomorrow, I suppose.

EDIT: I wrote this last night, but didn't post it for some unknown reason.

Good Tuesday morning, everyone. I think it's rained all night, but it's almost sunny just now.

I'm going to get washing on, but don't suppose the dry weather will last.

Gem, I've never made meatballs, but they sound nice. Do you use lamb mince?

                          Better late than never Daisy

                          Good morning everyone.
                          Very rainy day here.

Library morning then I presume GS1 here for the afternoon. (I WILL update on this thread re school at some point)

Daisy yes. I can't eat beef and we substitute lamb mince for any recipe requiring beef mince - B0lognese etc. You could probably make meatballs with pork or turkey mince but we like the lamb.

Good morning, colder and dull here today! I spoke too soon, the sun it out now. It was lovely yesterday, I managed aqua with my knee, no bother at all, I told the young man, he told me to wave to him if I was in trouble from the knee! It was a really good aqua as well, the first 20 minutes with a wet-belt and really moving in the water. Good for my legs!

I have just phoned doctor for an appointment, we don’t have to wait on the phone, they say what time they will phone back, and they do! I could have had an appointment this afternoon but was the same time as my fysio.

The work on the lift is going well, we can still use the original, I think today will be the last day.

My neighbour makes creams, she made a face cream from tallow? The best I have ever had, I was just reading in the Daily Mail that suet is very good for the skin, M has been using it for ages.

Oma, best to get the boiler fitted before it actually doesn't work anymore!
