Good morning on the first day of a new month.

Oma, glad MIL seemed more cheery.

Plant, please don't worry about posting. We are all thinking about you.

Hubby just gone to a car boot with his brother.
We are hoping to get some gardening done later, weather permitting.

Steak, mushrooms, chips and peas for dinner.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Good Sunday morning everyone, and the start of our "Chat" year.

We all love hearing about each other's and our loved ones' daily lives so please don't be shy or think you've got nothing to write about. It's the day to day things that help keep us connected.

So please fill this thread with lots of chat.

Good morning everyone and happy new chat box!

I can't eat beef, but would like that dinner if I was able to Nan2.

Oma, I was like that the night before last, I didn't get to sleep until 4. Much better last night. Hopefully you have a much better one tonight, or a nap today.

OH left at 8.30 this morning for the golf weekend. They play today and tomorrow, home late afternoon tomorrow I imagine.
I have no plans today apart from getting on with my packing, colouring my hair and writing up the Minutes from Friday's meeting. Salmon for my meal tonight.

Nanto, is it another Sunday morning of wondering what your hubby might find at the car boot? I hope the weather holds for you to get some gardening done. Steak and chips is one of my OH's favourites - he'd pass on the mushrooms though.

Oma, what a dreadful night you've had. It's certainly given you an early start to the day though. Your weather sounds dreary.

Plant, thinking about you. Please don't feel the need to reply unless you want to - I'm just sending hugs.

We got quite a lot of gardening done yesterday, and today I want to get things ready for the caravan. I like to put all the crockery, pots and pans etc through the dishwasher, and stock it with towels, teatowels and other bits and pieces, then I can cross them off my long TO Do list! We've got a busy week this week and I know time will run away with me if I don't get organised.

                Gem, our posts crossed.

It's good to have a day to yourself sometimes to get odd jobs done, or just to relax and read a good book. Hopefully the weather will be ok for S's golf. Is it the library meeting you're doing the minutes for? It sounds as though the new library is being well used. How did the children's events go through the school holidays?

Good morning, it is still warm and sunny here, more wind at the moment. I have been to the gym, early bird!

I am waiting until M next door comes alive and will see if she has a sheet of pattern paper for me, then I can get the pattern made for GD2.

Oma, poor you, try and get a nap in today.

Daisy, you must have been busy in the garden, when do you go away?

Nanto, you are always well planned with your meals, I often have to think about it!

Good morning to you as well, Lizzie.

I've forgottoen what you're making for GD2, but hope you can get some paper today to get started.

We've been working on a little project in the garden, which I'll write about separately. We go away next Saturday, the 7th, for two weeks. We're staying near Chester, not far from where our dear Glamm lived. We've got family up there and friends in and around Stoke who we'd like to see, but we also want some time just doing nothing much and catch up on some relaxation.

Daisy, she asked if I could make trousers for her the same as GD1 had made. Not much work when I get the pattern right.

Oh yes, you said you were going near Chester. My DB1 was in the army near Chester, many years ago!!

Lizzie, your GDs are so lucky to have such a clever needle woman for a grandma.

I think there were several military bases around the Chester area. I remember my OH saying he learned to fly a glider with the Army Cadets at Broughton, which is nearby.

                          I like Chester.
Yes the Minutes are for the Friends group Daisy. I took over as Secretary 7 years ago, and haven't been able to hand it on to anyone since, although I try at each AGM!

Gem, I know you put a lot of time and effort into supporting the library, but that's always the problem with taking on official roles. My OH ended up doing a treasurer's role for 17 years because no-one else could/would take it on. I think the Treasurers, Secretaries, Chairs etc are the unsung heroes of a lot of voluntary organisations.

For some months neither the Chair not Treasurer have been to meetings Daisy. The Vice Chair is quite a bit older than me and has recently been diagnosed with Parkinson's. He supports me at meetings but I feel that I actually Chair and take the Minutes sometimes!
