Nanto - I really do hope you don't get a power cut! But how lovely to have all that food stashed away. It must feel a bit like having a huge restaurant menu to choose from.

Oma - I hope your headache cleared up - you'd done a day's work before 9 am! I really don't know how you do it. It's amazing how sons remember their mums when they're hungry.

LG - I bet your DD's house will be fabulous, but as you say, I wouldn't want to have to clean it.

Plant - I'm glad you new dentist is nice, and why shouldn't you have some new tops. "Need" and "clothes" have nothing to do with each other, and now when you get trousers you can chose ones to wear with your new tops as well.


A busy day with the GDs and dog. One of GD1's birthday presents was a ceramic My Little Pony which she has painted (bright yellow) and put on the bright pink mane and tail, which she can style. She made a nice job of it - but didn't want to take it home, so it's sitting on my desk shedding pink 'hair' all over the place, ready for when she comes here again!!!

I am off up to Wembley for a bid meeting today. Yesterday I drove to the car park at the tube station and it took me twenty minutes to move less than half a mile to the entrance due to roadworks so I am getting the bus today, not so convenient but at least not so frustrating. Very, very hot here and already changed my jacket three times to see which one is the most comfortable so am now in a cream lace one over a Cotten white/orange floral dress. Rare for me to wear dresses these days but yesterday the tube was so hot I thought I was going to faint.

Libra Gran even for a MT like me that sounds like a lot of mess to be cleared up as the whole process goes on !
Zizi I have been wearing dresses and skirts the whole of this summer, just the thought of having to go back to wearing trousers is making me feel hot.

Stupid OH isn't feeling well this morning but it's his own fault. He was told specifically by his GP not to do too much in a day, to pace himself but does he take on board the advice. No . Yesterday he went to town to buy some top soil even though I told him he can't carry it home on the bus it would be to heavy, he would need a taxi so I may as well order some from eBay as it would work out cheaper. He came home empty handed , saying "I know we'll order some from eBay "
As it was a very hot day and we have a big climb up a hill from the nearest bus stop to our flat he felt a little breathless so I told him to sit and relax. I turn my back and where is he, outside on his knees on the lawn sowing grass seed into the bare patches . He did this to the front and back lawns , the he cleaned the patio and then out came the hose pipe and he gave everything a good soaking. Men ! Well he will get no sympathy from me today !

Good morning ladies. I hope we're in for another warm summer day - they become so precious at this time of the year. I'm starting to feel my usual panic that summer will soon become autumn, and to underline the feeling, the conker tree outside our house is already turning. But I'm determined to make the most of the nice days.

My Little Pony is having a bad hair day! GD1 plaited part of the mane yesterday but the rest of the mane and the tail were trailing on the desk so I looped them up into a knot and now it's all kinked and messy. Help!


Mimi - I do hope your OH is ok, but it must be very frustrating for him that he can't do what he wants and also for you when he overdoes it like yesterday.

Zizi - it would drive me mad coping with the delays and overcrowding like you do on a daily basis. I hope today's bid meeting goes well and the transport system works in your favour for once. Our outfit sounds lovely and perfect for a hot day.

Morning ladies not the best of weather Josh and dog day , he's going out with his friends so I'm at DD house till he comes back . I'm not sure he should be going out he was at football last night and fainted , he hadn't had much to eat yesterday only his breakfast well brunch really while with his Gran and didn't want anything else all day so think it may be that , he seems ok today but it's a worry ,

Back from the doctors. I went with a small red patch on my nose which I have had since June. It isn't rough and doesn't itch or hurt, and now I have more of a tan it's not as noticeable. I know it is there though, and didn't want to ignore it. Anyway GP say it doesn't look at all like anything malignant. I'm to go back in 6 weeks, just to check it. I am reassured as this doctor is well known for sending people for investigations when there is any question of the possibility of anything!

GS on his way. He wants to Watch Lion King. He's a sensitive soul, so I'm not sure how he will cope with the death of Mustapha, or Uncle Scars nastiness!!

Mimi if I am on taking groups on site tours a) I a, it allowed to wear skirts and b) steel toe capped boots and skirts are not a good look! Something like Olive Oyl if you know what I mean!!

So this morning I got a bus to the tube station at 8am, checked tube status on the way to find that the second tube line I was going on had severe delays. There is always another way albeit longer usually. By the time I got to my change soot the tube backlog had cleared and anyway I was going in the less popular direction and it was after 9am so at least I gotten seat but it was very hot. There were come women on there in those full burkha things, how ever do they manage in this heat? Must be hellishly hot under all that material.

Anyway, got there, found the civic centre, has the meeting. I wasn't the only woman there, out of fifteen at the meeting there were three women yippee! A better than usual ratio for a construction meeting although one of the women was an employment officer for the local council. Got back home about 3.45, straight into a bath because my whole body was wet with "glow".

I haven't had time to go to my unit and get the spare fold up bed and the three children are coming tomorow for an overnight stay so I am going to have to top and tail Ben and Sadie tomorrow night. Meeting Ben early tomorrow in the little town centre to buy his school shoes and then come back here before husband takes him to another local town centre to meet the other two for lunch and a trip to the pictures. That will leave me free to do the many things I have got to do. I feel extremely pressured at the moment........

At DD today as Josh was going out with his friends he popped in and out all day to get money from me for this and that (cost me a fortune 😊) and phoned several times to tell me where he was , Then he rang about 4.30, Nana I'm at the vets ,
we were in the village and found a lovely little dog and he was running on and off the road so we got him and a lady in the shop gave us some rope to make a lead , we asked around but no one knew where he has came from so we have brought him to the vet to check for a micro chip . He was still there by time his Daddy came in so I don't know the outcome yet as I came home , but what lovely boys to do that make sure it was safe and hopefully get back to its owner 😊
